RUFTS HAS done it again!
With even more entries than
in 2007, Crufts has secured its
place, yet again, as the world’s
largest dog show but it still has not
broken the record held by the centenary show of 1991.

Crufts embark on
new DVD launch
S T A R T I N G O N 6th March 2008, Crufts is undoubtedly the
world’s largest dog show, and last year saw the establishment launch its’ first DVD highlights package, which will
again be repeated following the 2008 event.
Recognised as the largest and
most prestigious dog show in the
world, Crufts is an international
event, attracting over 150,000 visitors and 25,000 dogs annually.
Crufts: The Ultimate Collection
DVD will be available at the show in
March at a special event price of
£9.99 (RRP: £19.99) and includes
highlights from the past three years
action.

Crufts attracting a global audience
that is unrivalled by any similar
event, there is clearly a market for
the DVD, and with this inaugural
release containing nearly four hours
of action, the set certainly offers
value for money.
Dog lovers can watch as
entrants compete to achieve the
coveted title of ‘Best in Show’, as
thousands of dogs go head to head
to be judged by experts determining
who should be crowned champion.
The DVD set rounds up all of the
action from the Group Judging and
Best in Show where the very top
dogs from the show compete.
Along with a selection of interviews with key personalities from
the dog exhibiting world, viewers
are treated to all of the action that
secured the top accolade achieved
by Tibetan Terrier, Araki Fabulous
Willy in 2007, Australian Shepherd
Caitland Isle Take A Chance in 2006,
and Norfolk Terrier Cracknor
Cause Celebre in 2005, as well as all
of the highlights from the rest of the
shows.
Attendees of the show will also
have the chance to pre-order the
DVD for Crufts 2008, which is a
service that the Kennel Club has
never offered before. Dog-lovers
ordering early will be the first to
receive the DVD, which will be available in May.
Crufts will welcome 22,964 dogs competing for the
prestigious title of Best in Show; over 600 more than last
year. Crufts 2008 has narrowly missed breaking the
show’s all-time record by just 27 dogs! The entry for
March’s show is 25546 from 22964 dogs.
Crufts achieved its best ever entry figure during its
centenary year in 1991 when the event moved to the
NEC in Birmingham for the first time. Overseas entries
have also increased dramatically; Crufts 2008 will see
1,177 dogs from overseas take to the ring to compete,
an increase of more than 200 on 2007. Crufts has
always attracted a huge number of competitors and visitors alike, and the event just keeps on growing.
Recent puppy registration figures released by the
Kennel Club highlighted the worryingly low numbers of
certain British and Irish breeds. Crufts entry figures
show that only 6% of the dogs attending the event are
from those 23 breeds listed as being vulnerable. The
worry for the Kennel Club is that the breeds have lost
popularity to the point that they are being forgotten by
puppy buyers and can therefore sometimes be overlooked when someone is thinking of getting a new dog,
even though so many of them would make great pets.
Crufts provides an ideal opportunity to get to know
breeds such as the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, the Smooth
Collie and the Irish Red and White Setter and many others.
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said “Crufts
has yet again surpassed all expectations. This event just
keeps getting bigger and bigger and with over 150,000
visitors attending last year, we are preparing for another
record breaking show! The low numbers of vulnerable
breeds is, sadly, expected. In the registration figures
released earlier this month we saw a huge decline in
some native British and Irish breeds. We hope that an
occasion as big as Crufts will help highlight just how
important it is to ensure we don’t lose these beautiful
breeds.”
Crufts has changed significantly over the years. Back
in 1991 it was moved to the NEC in Birmingham due to
its overwhelming popularity. Last year’s show saw the
Arena programme introduced, allowing the Kennel Club
to showcase many different aspects of dog ownership
and provide an even bigger platform for dogs, demonstrating all they have to offer.

Crufts broadcast on schedule
to fetch new audience

Crufts Classic 2008
HE BBC has announced changes to its usual BBC2 programming schedule for Crufts 2008. In an effort to attract a broader audience, the BBC is introducing a new
Sunday teatime programme during the show, which will feature more coverage of disciplines like Agility and Flyball.
The schedule for the Crufts programmes to be broadcast on BBC2 is as
follows:

leading the main coverage later that evening.

Crufts will be making use of the NEC Arena again this year, following

Puppies compete in next generation of Crufts competition
On Friday 7th March at Crufts, the world’s greatest dog
show, ten young pedigree dogs from across the country will
be visiting the NEC in Birmingham to compete in the Grand
Final of the Kennel Gazette Junior Warrant Winner of the
Year Competition, one of the highest levels of achievements
for young pedigree dogs.
The Kennel Gazette Junior Warrant is a special Kennel Club award, which
is aimed at dogs from the dog show world from the ages of 6 to 18 months
which have qualified for the title by winning a series of first prizes at both
Open and Championship Dog shows over the last year. They then won
through to the final by being placed in the semi-finals, which were held last
November at the Discover Dogs event in London.
The overall winner will be presented with an award and trophy at Crufts
and will be featured in the flagship publication of the Kennel Club, the Kennel Gazette, which keeps readers up to date with all the latest developments
within the world of dogs, every month.

WORKING GUNDOG CERTIFICATE TO BE RE-LAUNCHED AT CRUFTS
THE KENNEL Club will be re-launching the Working Gundog Certificate (WGC) at
Crufts. Although the WGC is not a competition in itself, it assesses Kennel Club registered gundogs and their handlers against a set of specific criteria.The aim of this certificate is to provide credible proof that the handler and dog are a competent
partnership, with the qualities to fulfil the general requirements of work on a shoot.
For the first time this certificate has been opened up for dogs that point, which
will be assessed on hunting, locating, pointing and steadiness.
The newly streamlined certificate can now be taken at a variety of events including on a shoot using game, a WGC day for dogs that retrieve using dummies,
a WGC day for dogs that point or a Gundog Working Test.
Visitors are invited to attend the Dog Activities Stand in Hall 3 at Crufts as part
of the WGC launch during Gundog Day on Friday 7th March where they will receive a free gift, a copy of the updated WGC Handbook and have the opportunity
gain a more detailed insight into this award.

Record numbers to compete at
gamekeepers’ ring at Crufts
A record number of gundogs will be competing in the gamekeepers’ ring
at Crufts on Friday 07 March 2008 at the Birmingham NEC.
More than 440 dogs will be competing in the gamekeepers’ ring this
year which is a significant increase from the number of competitors just a
year ago.
BASC’s national gundog co-ordinator, Sheila Gussey, said: “I have seen
a huge upsurge of interest in the gamekeepers’ ring at Crufts this year alone
with many more dogs competing this year than they did last year. This is
great news for the future of the gamekeepers’ ring at Crufts.” The judging
will begin in the gamekeepers’ ring in Hall 5 at 9am with trophy presentations taking place at 4.30pm.
The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme is always worth a visit,
and this year will be no exception. Don’t miss it

‘One thing is for certain, the opening up of our
borders to dogs from across the waters has
certainly changed the course of history for
Crufts,the world’s largest show’
S
INCE THE PET PASSPORT scheme was introduced eight years ago, dogs residing outside the UK have been able to participate
in the ‘Greatest Dog Show in the World’ – Crufts
- by competing on an ATC (Authority to Compete) registration number. In the first year
(2001), 98 ATC exhibits from 12 European Union
countries were entered, since when the foreign
entry has increased ten-fold; and their success
has, proportionally, been quite astounding.
In that first year, when expectations and supposition were mixed,
10% of the 98 dogs entered went
away with CCs; and we had the first
ATC group winner, the Italian Siberian Husky, Int Ch Cry Out, who won
the working group. That year there
were also eight overseas judges:
three from the USA, and one each
from Eire, Finland, Holland, Norway
and Germany.
The year 2002 saw the entry
jump to 278 dogs from 15 countries
(now including one dog each from
Japan, Canada and Gibraltar); and the
first ATC winner of the coveted BIS
award in the shape of the Norwegian-bred and owned white Standard
Poodle, Nord Ch Topscore Contradiction, who had a very cosmopolitan pedigree (including dogs bred in
the UK, Sweden, Denmark and
America).
The following year (2003) the
overseas entry nearly doubled to
543 dogs from 20 countries; and two
group winners emerged from their
ranks: the Swedish-bred Flatcoat,
Multi Ch/Int Ch Inkwells Named
Shadow; and the Italian-bred, Swissowned Newfoundland, Multi Ch/Int
Ch And I’m Great To Be Back.
A further 100 foreign dogs travelled to this iconic show in 2004,
making the overseas entry 644 dogs
from 22 countries; and once again
they featured well in the main
awards, with six of the 28 group
places on offer going to ATC dogs.
Four more were won by imported
dogs, RBIS going to the Swedish-bred
Scottie, Ch Raglan Rose Maiden at
Brio. The toy group was won by the
American-bred Bichon, Am Ch
Paray’s I Told You So; and the pastoral
group by the American-bred OES,
Barkshire Born In The USA (who
was later disqualified and replaced by
the original G2, the American Australian Shepherd bitch, Am Ch
Bayshore’s Russian Roulette).
The numbers were up again in
2005, with 723 dogs from 26 countries; and two of the groups were
judged by ‘imported’ judges, Kari
Jarvinen doing the pastoral BOBs
and Geir Flyckt-Pedersen (who now
resides in the UK) the terriers. However, for the first time since their ‘invasion’ no ATC dogs featured in the
group placings.
Leap
In 2006 there was another leap
of numbers, up by another 179 dogs
to 902 from 32 countries; and the
Canadian-bred, American-owned
Australian Shepherd (incidentally,
this breed had tickets for the first
time in the UK that year), the aptly
named Am Ch Caitland Isle Take A
Chance, became only the second
trans-Atlantic-bred dog in the show’s
history to win BIS. RBIS went to another dog bred in America, the imported WFT, Ch/Am Ch El-Rays
Snowtaire Iceni Payback. The toy
group was won by an American-bred

Danish-owned Pomeranian, Dan/Sw
Ch Finch’s Ovation For Me; and,
amazingly, all three other placings in
this group were won by ATC or imported dogs. The Dutch Bouvier,
Sw/Ned Ch Gijs Santos from the
Dogsfarm, won the working group,
having won G4 here in 2005.
Last year (2007) the Crufts overseas entry increased yet again, to 951
dogs, also from 32 countries; and
they had another successful raid on
our most famous of dog shows, with
more than 80 ATC dogs and 30 imports featuring in the CC and RCC
results.
In the pastoral group two American dogs featured in the final four:
G2 was the Australian Shepherd,
Thornapple Aftershock (interestingly,
all the Crufts BOBs for this breed
have been bred in the USA); and G4
went to the American-bred Hungarian Puli, Am Ch Loakespark Pretty
Smart (you may recognise the affix
as being that of Ann Arch, who
judged BIS at Crufts 2001; the Puli
was bred by her daughter, Alex, who
now resides in America).
In the terrier group two ATC
dogs also won places in the final lineup.The charismatic Dandie Dinmont,
Aust Grand Ch/Am Ch Hobergay’s
Fineus Fogg, took G2; and the Scottie, Am Ch Charthill Empire Maker,
G4.
In the hound group, G4 went to
the ATC Pharaoh, Int Ch Xoez (in
fact, three of the four top awards in
this breed were ATC dogs).

Foreign dogs swept the board in
the gundog group, with the Swedishbred Flatcoat, Int & Multi Ch Almanza Far & Flyg, taking the top spot
(another Almanza Flatcoat was G2
here in 2006); G2 went to the highly
successful GWP import from Germany, Ch Freddy Vom Kapellenhof at
Bareve; G3 was the imported (from
New Zealand) Pointer, Sh Ch/NZ
Grand Ch Chesterhope Lets Be Serious at Kanix; and G4 the Italian
ATC Labrador, Loch Mor Welldone.
The working group was topped
by the multi-titled Malamute, Ch
Giving A New Royal Star de Jungla
Negra.
The utility group did not have any
foreign dogs in the final four placings,
but there were more than 10 ATC
exhibits or imports in the CC results
table; and of course, although bred
here in the UK, the 2007 BIS winner,
the Tibetan Terrier Ch/Am Ch Araki
Fabulous Willy, had just returned
from his new home in California!
Last year nine overseas judges officiated at the show – from as far
afield as South Africa, Australia and
Bermuda. This year there are eight:

judge Japanese Akita Inu, Canaan
Dogs, Irish Terriers, Tibetan Mastiffs,
and Russian Blacks; Mr P Green
(USA), Australian Silky Terriers, and
WFT; Mrs E de Luca (Italy), Coton
de Tulear, and Havanese; Mr P Albergaria (Portugal), Estrelas; Mrs S Jernhake (Sweden), Scottish Terriers, and
Cesky; Mr L Adeheimer (Sweden),
Welsh Terriers; Ms P HeikkinenLehkonen (Finland), Finnish Spitz; and
Mrs E Megginson (South Africa),
Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
A breakdown of this year’s overseas entry has not been divulged as
we go press, but - if the previous
years’ figures are anything to go by we can expect a substantial entry
from other countries. How much influence these foreign dogs - and
judges - will have on the results this
year, only time will tell. One thing is
for certain - the opening up of our
borders to dogs from across the waters has certainly changed the
course of history for the world’s
largest show – and perhaps our
hobby in the UK - forever; and there
is now an added air of excitement
about this, our showcase event of
the year, which has evolved into a
truly international competition.

OUR DOGS’ Louise Warburton catches up with Peter Purves
as he prepares to co-present the world’s greatest dog show
Hi Peter, well here we are
again, another Crufts! Tell
us about your childhood.
Did you grow up with dogs?
I only had one dog as a child when I was eleven my parents
inherited a Cocker Spaniel called
Rusty. He was black with rusty
red muzzle and paws. Very
handsome boy, and MUCH larger
than the average cocker you’d
see in the show ring or working
in the field. He died when I was
15.
When did your love of dogs
first begin?
I suppose it began then with
Rusty, but my career meant that
keeping a dog was impractical. It
was only when I started working
on Blue Peter that owning a dog
became a reality. I took Petra
back home as my dog, and she
lived with me and my family until
she died aged 15.
Tell us about your memories
of working with Petra
Petra was great fun to work
with, but she was quite badtempered with other dogs that
invaded her studio! She didn’t
like the studio, and only tolerated
it because she could sit with me
much of the time. There was an
official dog-minder who had
looked after Petra prior to my
arrival on the show, Edith
Menezez.
There is no doubt she
absolutely loved Petra, and when
I went away filming she was
always delighted to take her back.
It was a really good working
relationship, with Petra having
two loving homes to go to. We
made several films with her - I
can remember doing some
obedience training with her, and
we filmed her doing distant
control, at which she was quite
proficient.
Have
you
ever
been
involved with showing /
breeding dogs? Or have
you ever judged dogs?
I have only judged at
Companion Dog Shows, and
various novelty classes. I quite
enjoy it, and have done part of
the judges course under Terry
Thorn. But it isn’t really what I
do. I have recently bred my first
litter - seven beautiful WireHaired Dachshunds from my
bitch, Hattie (a lovely red, pin
wire bitch but unregistered) and
my wonderful dog Lankelly
Woody Valentine (bred by Pam
Poulter). The litter was born in
October last year.
How long have you worked
for the BBC at Crufts?
This year will be my 31st at
Crufts for the BBC. Actually I
could claim one extra year as I
presented an item with Stanley
Dangerfield specially for children
at the 1976 Crufts, held at
Olympia. But I began in 1978
when I introduced Agility to the
Crufts TV audience. From there I
went on to present all the
Obedience Championships, and
then the Agility and Obedience
TV programmes. In 1989 I
became co-presenter of the
entire Crufts output with Angela
Rippon, and that continued when
the show moved from Earl’s
Court to the NEC in 1990.
Angela left the show in 1992,
and my lovely colleague and
friend Jessica Holm took over,
and that continued until 2001,
when first Phillippa Forester, then
Gaby Roslin, and then Clare
Balding took the helm. Clare of
course is now joined by Ben
Fogle and Matt Baker. But also in
2001, Jessica and I became the
principal commentators for the
show, and were joined by the
wonderful Frank Kane and
Wayne Cavanaugh. Wayne, of
course, joined because now
Animal Planet were heavily
involved as co-producers, and we
four commentators made a
programme every year for
distribution on the Discovery
Channel in the States. Amazingly,
the Animal Planet team managed
to convey the illusion that this
amazing show takes place in just
one day. 22,500 dogs judged to a
winner in the space of 12 hours
or so. The mind boggles. Luckily
we only had to commentate and
give our opinions on dogs’
chances. Good fun, and the

was
hugely
appreciated by the BBC. Sadly
this year, Animal Planet has
pulled out of the joint effort, and
that means we will no longer
have the pleasure of working
with a really wonderful team
from Painless Productions. We’ll
miss them. But Crufts will be as
big and as good as ever on BBC2.
Aside from Crufts, what dog
events are you looking
forward to attending this
year?
There are a number of
compelling events for me - The
Contest of Champion Show
Dogs (Saturday April 5th) is an
annual event organised by the
Canine Supporters’ Charity.This
is an invitation event where the
first 64 responders to the
invitation take part in a match in
front of International Judges, who
may or may not have any
knowledge of our individual dogs.
In the past this has thrown up
many anomalies, with very big
winners going out in the first
round, but it is a wonderfully
well-supported event, and great
fun to all who attend. Dinner, a
great dog show, an auction and
cabaret and dancing.What more
could you want?
All About Dogs is another notto-be-missed event, organised by
Roy and Carol Dyer and their
team at Brentwood Events, (May
10th and 11th) this year. This is
one of those fun events that has
absolutely everything, and has
grown year after year. I am
privileged to attend each year,
and I love the show. If you’ve
never been, then try it.There are
competitions
of
every
description, fun activities for the
visitor, a main arena packed with
good events to watch, and trade
stands and charity stands who do
a great trade, and a good days’
work.
Later in the year I am intrigued
by Beverly Cuddy’s new venture,
the Cold Wet Nose Show in
Guildford (Saturday July 12th)
and the revived Wag and Bone
Show in Windsor Great Park.
And I must mention Discover
Dogs in November. I have a
number of other shows I will
attend, but am looking forward
enormously to the Guide Dog
Gala Day in the summer, after it
was disappointingly cancelled last
year with a waterlogged
showground. It has moved to the
Royal Showground at Stoneleigh
and let’s hope for a drier summer
in 2008.
Are there any previous BIS
winners at Crufts that you
have particularly admired
and why?
Almost too many to mention,
but if I must I’d go for
Burtonwood Bossyboots (St
Bernard)
in
1974. Also
Harrowhill Huntsman (W/H Fox
Terrier) in 1978 because my
interview with the owner was
my first major interview after I
left Blue Peter. I loved the 2007
winner Fabulous Willie, and of
course Bert Easdon’s delightful
Peke in 2003.

Do you share your home
with dogs at the moment?
I share my house with far too
many dogs. My wife Kathryn and
I currently have seven. One very
aged Newfoundland, Kent, who is
almost 12 now, and doesn’t see
very well, but he is still a happy
boy. Two elderly Pekingese, Tilly
and Holly who are both just 10,
and two adult and two puppy
Wire-Haired Dachshunds, Hattie
(30 months) Woody (22 months),
and Teddy and Dottie who are
just 16 weeks old. They are a
lovely collection but I haven’t yet
managed to get pictures of them
all together.
What’s your opinion of the
notion that Crufts is getting
too big?
I disagree that Crufts is getting
too big. The aim is to
accommodate the best dogs in
the country of every recognised
breed. It is a huge undertaking by
the Kennel Club, and has got
better and better over the years.
For the casual visitor to the
show, and there are many, the
Discover Dogs booths are a
brilliant innovation, spawning
their own show in November.
The judging runs, if not like
clockwork, pretty close to it.The
use last year of the Arena and
Pavillion to accommodate the
Action
events
and
the
Obedience
Championships
respectively proved to be most
successful. There is always going
to be massive congestion
between the halls, but that is not
the fault of Crufts or the KC but
of the venue. Between Halls 1
and 2 and between 4 and 5 the
stairways and passages are just
too small to take the crowds,
who seem to grow every year.

fabulous!
Do you have any unfulfilled
ambitions?
None.
How do you like to relax?
I love my Golf, but with so
many dogs I am having difficulty
finding the time to play. I enjoy
walking, particularly on the beach
with the dogs. I enjoy the theatre
(actually much less than
previously), the cinema (an evergrowing passion) and eating good
food.

Lots to cherish at Crufts auction
THERE IS always lots to see and enjoy at the
world’s largest dog show and this year is no exception. The Kennel Club will once again be
holding its popular ‘Dogs in Art and Literature’
auction, on behalf of the Kennel Club Charitable
Trust, at Crufts on Sunday March 9th.
There will be well in excess of 300 lots on offer at the show, and to
allow time for everyone to enjoy the auction more comfortably, it will
commence at the earlier time of 12 noon.The auction will take place
on Stand 98 in Hall 3a, with visitors able to view many of the items
available on the stand over the preceding three days of the show and
the morning of the sale.An illustrated catalogue of the lots will be available at the show.
This year’s auction offers an eclectic selection, with something for
even the most discerning of collectors.The book section has a number
of rare volumes including Shields American Book of the Dog, Chapin’s
Dogs in Early New England, Jowett’s Complete Story of the Airedale,
early dog show catalogues and the first volume of the Kennel Club
Stud Book.
Rare prints
Included amongst the pictures is a watercolour of a Pekingese in a
secret garden, a number of cartoons by the American humorist Zito,
sketches by Persis Kirmse and some rarely seen prints by Maud Earl.
The section devoted to porcelain and sculpture will include a collection of Continental porcelain Dachshunds, a selection of all sizes of

Royal Doulton dogs, a varied choice of Bulldogs and an early 20th century Austrian painted spelter Airedale.
Within the jewellery section, there will be some carved Essex crystals, miniatures by W.B. Ford mounted as stickpins, a rare micromosaic
of a Toy Spaniel and a Victorian carved ivory brooch.The sale also includes some Victorian dog collars.
All monies raised from the auction will be given to the Kennel Club
Charitable Trust, which celebrates its 21st birthday this year. Since it
was established in 1987, the Trust has distributed grants totalling over
£3million to a wide variety of deserving causes, with almost £450,000
awarded in 2007 alone.
The Trust has three main objectives that support its overall mission
of ‘Making a difference for dogs’:
Science: Assisting the advancement of education and science by
helping fund research into canine diseases and hereditary disorders in
dogs.
Support: Improving the quality of life for human beings by promoting dogs as therapeutic and practical aids.
Welfare: Helping relieve the suffering of dogs which are in need of
care and attention.

For most, an appointment to judge at any championship show is a fantastic opportunity, to be asked to judge a breed at Crufts is the stuff that dreams are made
of...and then there’s the groups. Meet the group and best in show judges for Crufts, and find out a bit more about their backgrounds and what makes them tick...
Best in show
Mrs Clare Coxall
All Rounder Clare is a name synonymous with Poodles,
with her Tiopepi prefix. Most will recall her
fantastic Crufts BIS win 1966 with theToy Poodle
Oakington Puckshill Amber Sunblush, and in
1985 was the breeder of the BIS winner
Gibb’s Ch Montravia Tommy Gun
From breeding her first litter of Poodles
in 1957, she has judged over nearly 50,000
dogs all over the world, and has owned or
bred 179 champions worldwide. Formerly a
veterinary nurse, Clare has assisted the veterinary profession in various hereditary
breeding problems.
Clare's greatest achievement will be the honour of judging Best in Show at Crufts.
Hound group
Mrs Zola Rawson
Mrs Rawson was born in Tehran to
Russian parents.She says she had always wanted all kinds of animals,
but was never allowed any of her
own until after she was married!
Owing to her husband’s
work they ived in different
countries for short periods of
time and, because of this, it was
the common practice to take
over the pets of those people we
replaced. However in 1961, when
her husband was working in Baghdad,
they were given a smooth Saluki, and
both fell in love with the breed and decided
upon their return to the UK, that that was to be the breed for them.
A few years and countries later they returned to England and acquired their
first Saluki a male from Terry Thorn of the Tahawi fame. Shortly after this they
got a bitch and started showing at open show level,and eventually bred their first
litter.
The Rawsons took the affix Mumtaz, rather tongue in cheek, as the translation from the Arabic means “the best”. Zola has now bred many Champion
Salukis in both this country and abroad. She has also owned and bred both
Miniature Longhaired Dachshunds and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
Zola was Secretary of Horley & Distict Show Society for some 13 years, and
says she found that aspect of the dog scene very enjoyable and challenging.
She started judging in 1976 and awarded her first set of CCs in 1982, the
Hound Group in 1991 and now awards Challenge Certificates in all breeds in
the Hound Group, and also judges the Toy Group.
Zola has judged almost everywhere in the world with the exception of the
Far East, and enjoys seeing breeds in other countries.
She has judged at Crufts on a few occasions now, but says to be invited to
judge the Group is a big honour. ‘I feel privileged to do so,and also very excited
at this wonderful opportunity.It is going to be such a tremendous pleasure’,she
says.

Mrs Patsy Hollings
Born into a farming family, Patsy grew
up around animals and rode from a
very early age.Horses were her passion. Upon joining theYoung Farmers’ Club, she met Stephen
Hollings, he too from a farming
background. Both being of a competitive nature, they excelled at
county and national YKC ompetitions. Stephen also showed pigeons
and Patsy competed in equestrian
events, so upon their marriage it
seemed a normal progression to enter
the local YKC dog exemption show with
their English setter, the “bug” bit hard! The
year was 1973.
A big plus in their success in dogs stems from the fact that they know each
other’s strengths. Consequently Patsy became the “front” of the team. Learning
the dog game took years of doing the job, listening, learning and taking advice.
Patsy still enjoys the learning side and gleans so much from attending the group
development seminars.
In 1976,they bought their firstWeimaraner from Scotland,following this with
a dog from Dick Finch, who became their first Weimaraner champion, Sh Ch
Hansom Brandyman of Gunalt.
She first started judging in 1979,probably because of having two gundog breeds
in different sub-groups. Patsy was asked to judge various gundogs and loved the
challenge of judging each breed against its standard.Out of respect for each breed,
she read standards,(still does) and attended seminars on various different breeds,
not only gundogs. Each one information could be gleaned, which developed the
eye for judging and the ability to constructively breed better dogs.
Patsy awarded CCs for the first time in 1987, at South Wales and the gun-
dog group at Manchester in 1994, both memorable occasions. She is passed to
award CCs in over 27 breeds, through Gundogs, Terriers, Pastrol and Utility
groups.
The highlight of her judging career came in 2007, again at SWKA when Patsy
judged her first best in show, all breeds show at championship level, something
she never thought would come her way, the most humbling part, to have the respect of folk in dogs to be awarded that honour.
To win BIS at a championship show was also something held dear in her
heart. Having bred over 60 UK champions and being top breeder all breeds
more than 12 times is both scary and fulfilling.
Both Stephen and Patsy were thrilled in 2005 to win the Tom Horner award
for excellence, presented by Dog World and the Pedigree Petfoods achievement
award, ‘recognition of this type is amazing’ says Patsy.

ZENA THORN-Andrews spent her early years surrounded by family dogs;
mostly GSDs and a beloved Bulldog ‘Sevenup Jenny’; all of which influenced her
decision to enter the world of show dogs.
She joined the IrishWolfhound Club in 1965, to
learn about the breed,and began to attend local
shows and Crufts - in fact, she has not missed
a Crufts show since 1965!
Her Drakesleat kennel needs no introduction, and her world-renowned Irish
Wolfhounds were joined by her second
breed.MiniatureWirehaired Dachshunds.

bred or owned 112 British Champions
and is now the Top breeder all breeds for
number of Champions since records began
in 1873.
Zena started judging in the early 70s, and
progressed through the hound group as a specialist, before branching out into other groups. She
judged extensively at hunt terrier shows and for over 20 years hunted both
Wolfhounds and Dachshunds, therefore is very keen on good conformation
and fitness in all breeds.
Zena is approved to award CCs in 150 breeds, and is currently number two
top judge in the UK. She is also approved by the FCI as an all breed judge in all
FCI countries. She still shows Dachshunds but sadly does not haveWolfhounds
any more.The record of top breeder every year since 1975 in one or both
breeds has never been bettered by anyone in the UK.
Married to the well known all breeds judgeTerryThorn, Zena has judged at
many World shows, judged the Hound group at Crufts in1998 and, of course,
Best in show in 2007.
Geoffrey Davies commenced showing Pekingese as a school boy in 1962, and
was a regular exhibitor and spectator at local sanction and limited shows, which proved to be an invaluable training ground.
In 1967, he won his first CC at Cardiff
Championship Show, Sophia Gardens, and
went on to own and make-up fifteen champions including Group, Best in Show and
Pup of the Year Winners. Geoffrey also won
the Toy Group at Crufts 1993.
Geoffrey awarded his first set of tickets
at Darlington 1974, and judged his first
group at East of England 1993. He has gradually worked his way through the toy group,
and is now approved to award Challenge Certificates in all Toy breeds with the exception of
English Toy Terriers. He has judged at leading breed
specialities and Toy Dog events throughout the world, including France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden Denmark, Ireland and America.
Involvement with various canine societies and breed clubs has always interested Geoffrey and he has held various positions on a variety of breed clubs and
toy dogs societies, and served on the committee of Blackpool Championship
Show, where he held the position of Vice Chairman for a period of over 10
years.
Outside of the world of dogs, having finished school and a part-time college
course, Geoffrey chose to pursue a career in purchasing and has gone on to hold
senior buying positions and directorships for some of the UK’s top retailers,

OUR DOGS prides itself on the quality of photographers available to cover

Here we introduce you to some who you will see around the rings this year,
learn a bit about them and ask.... ‘what’s your favourite photo?’
John D
Jackson
ALTHOUGH John Jackson was brought
up among horses all he ever wanted
was a dog of his own. When he was
eleven his parents bought him a black
labrador bitch and his subsequent love
of the breed has lasted a lifetime.
He originally qualified and worked as
a mining engineer in the coal industry
but left just prior to privatisation at the
end of 1994. He then went back to college to study professional photography for two years. Because he and his wife Eileen had been involved in dog
showing and breeding for some years he decided to set up in business as a
professional dog photographer and was subsequently invited to cover shows
for OUR DOGS which he has done for the last 12 years
Apart from dog photography he have been involved in other ways for
many years as a committee member of the Three Ridings Labrador Club
and President of Huddersfield Canine Association. He has judged for several
years and will be awarding CCs in Labradors for the first time later on this
year at Driffield. He now spends a great deal of my time working as Photography Manager for OUR DOGS which involves organising and co-ordinating the superior photographic coverage offered by the paper
When he is not involved with dogs he loves to watch Huddersfield Town,
he also used to play cricket. His other great love is the theatre.
OUR DOGS asked John to choose a favourite photo. ‘I have hundreds of
dogs in show pose but my favourite is this photo of two of our own
labradors’, said John. ‘It's one I took for the Discover Dogs stand at Crufts
a few years ago.The two dogs are mother and daughter but sadly Sophie the
black mother of Alice died last year. I think it just captures the spirit of everything I love about dogs - I hope you agree’.
William Moores
Bill Moores, photographer and Consultant
Editor to OUR DOGS will attend his 40th
successive Crufts show this year. Associated
with the paper since 1967 he first took photos for OUR DOGS in 1973 but in recent
years, since 2005 stepping down from 'the
editor's chair' which he occupied for 18
years, he has specialised in providing high
quality digital images for the UK based canine press, trade advertisers as well as having breeder clients in this country and
overseas.
In the early 1970s he became a member
of the British Association of Industrial Editors and was awarded its diploma a section
of which demanded study and practical application of photographic skills.
He later gained the qualification MCB (dip). In 1992 he wrote the book Dogs:
A Guide to Pedigree Breeds illustrated by top photographer Paddy Cutts and
published by Sunburst Books in the UK and the USA. The book was subsequently reprinted in 1994.
He has represented OUR DOGS at events in Eire, Europe and the USA
and likes to combine his knowledge of what an Editor looks for in a photo
with satisfying the requirements of proud owners. He tells us he loves to
work to tight deadlines and appreciates that modern technology has facilitated this.
His favourite photo from his extensive library and shown below was
taken at Crufts of the group winning Bouvier from Belgium. 'To me whilst
not colourful it is a subtle illustration of handler and dog in harmony', said
Bill.
Combining his love of the mountains with photography he walked the
West Highland Way from Glasgow to Fort William - 100 miles in six days with Kennel Club Charitable Trust trustee Bill King in 2004 together raising
over £4000 for the trust. A past president of the Midland Association of
Mountaineers his landscape and mountain photography has won awards in
national magazine competitions.
Alan Seymour
Alan was born in London in 1957
and grew up in Surrey before moving
up to the North West in his late
teens. He now lives in Preston, Lancashire and has been taking photographs of various subjects for over
thirty years.
He completed his City & Guilds in
basic photography and natural history both passed with distinctions in
1999. His hobbies are wildlife photography and one day he hopes to go
to India to photograph wild Tigers.
This is his sixth year as an OUR
DOGS official photographer and he
enjoys being part of the team. He
tells us that he has met and and
made friends with a lot of nice people and their dogs whilst working on behalf of OUR DOGS and hopes to
continue in the future.
Alan V. Walker
Serena Robinson LRPS LBPPA
Serena took my first photograph at the age of four and
photography has been a lifelong hobby ever since. In 1994
she developed RSI rendering
her permanently disabled and
she was “retired” by her employers. She studied several
animal psychology courses,
took a PGCE degree having
written several courses and is
now a tutor for the Animal
Care College.
This enforced situation gave
her an opportunity to consider
what she really wanted to do –
simply to work with animals.
She is too sensitive to work in
a veterinary environment so
she started “Home from
Home” Pet Care Service.
However the work was intermittent and in 2002 she expanded
her
business
by
launching
Digi-Pet
Portraits,
(www.digi-petportraits.co.uk) having photographed her pets over the years
it seemed a logical progression. She was aware of the dog show world and
in 2004 she sent a portfolio of images to OUR DOGS for consideration, in
the summer of that year her first photograph was published in OUR DOGS.
Later that year she sent a panel of pet images to the Royal Photographic Society and in November 2004 gained a Licentiate. In 2006 she was asked to
photograph a wedding as a direct result of photographing dogs, and this side
of her business is steadily growing (www.serenarobinson.co.uk).
March 2007 was an incredible month, she was approached by my local
newspaper The Ross Gazette to photograph for them on a regular basis and
having covered many Open Society and Single Breed Championship Shows
was asked to attend Crufts for the first time “officially” photographing the
events in the YKC ring - it is a huge honour to be an OUR DOGS photographer and is something of which she is immensely proud. She says she is so
lucky in that she loves what she does, if she hadn’t developed RSI she would
not be where she is now, photographing at Crufts! It just shows with determination you can achieve anything!
Her favourite photo is of her ‘girls’ - probably not her best she says but it
is a favourite. Chloe is a Border Collie/Labrador X and is 12, Sophie is a
Whippet/Jack Russell X and is 15 - they are her life and she says she would
love to see their image in OUR DOGS - so here they are!
Alan V Walker has been taking professional
photographs of dogs since the early eighties and has been an official OUR DOGS
photographer from 1985, making him one
of the most experienced full-time canine
photographers currently working in the
UK. His work is regularly seen in OUR
DOGS and been published in all the front
running canine publications, including web
sites and hard backed books.
At some point in his career, each of the
major dog food manufactures has commissioned Alan as well as a couple of family
owned pharmaceutical companies and of
course Dogs Monthly. Also during the last 20 odd years he considers himself
privileged to have photographed some of dogdom's finest and most famous
dogs.

about the latest attack on
a human being by a so-called ‘dangerous’ dog? The
way the media want more breeds to be banned?
Or how about when some puffed-up local politician – usually
some non-entity of a councillor - starts prattling on about how
the Council should introduce No-Go areas for dogs because
there’s dog poo everywhere and as everyone knows, dog poo
can blind children? Obviously all dog owners are totally
irresponsible, that’s why there must be restrictions on council
tenants owning dogs, so doesn’t it make your blood boil when a
local authority introduces a ban on dog ownership in council
premises, even for those people who still have dogs and haven’t
caused any problem?
Then, of course, at this time of year, in the run-up to Crufts,
all those smart-alec, anti-dog, anti-dog showing articles start to
appear in the paper, so-called ‘funny’ pundits on TV and radio
start belittling the whole event. So whenever there’s a
photograph of a dog exhibitor it’s done a-la Trainspotter – it’s
usually some old biddy with a silly hat, baggy tights and a poodle
with ribbons in its pom-pom. All dog people are weird aren’t
they?
Of course, this dog showing lark is so un-natural and the dogs
absolutely hate it. Of course, they can’t walk or breathe properly
because they’ve all got hereditary defects. And the owners
probably have too. Well – that’s what a ‘TV Vet’ says, so it must
be true. After all, the TV Vet was on the telly five or six years
ago and wrote a book about it.Those dog people just don’t care,
do they?
As for dogs, well – that nice animal rights organisation that all
the movie stars subscribe to say that pet keeping is unnatural
anyway.As for dogs themselves, what good are they to Mankind?
Come to that, if there have to be dogs in society, what good do
we do them?
In a word: Aaaarrrggghhh!
Listen, you probably know this anyway, because you love dogs,
you read OUR DOGS so you know what you’re doing dog-wise,
but dogs have truly been Man’s Best Friend for well over 10,000
years, possibly longer. It’s arguable that because Cro-Magnon
Man tamed and trained wolves that this gave him the edge on
hunting game over Neanderthal Man and thus survived to
become the dominant human species… thanks to dogs!
But let’s just remind ourselves about some good things about
dogs and, even better, some good things that are happening for
dogs nowadays…

First of all, dogs have always had a working role in our society.
True, there aren’t as many carriage dogs seen on the streets
these days, but Dalmatians are always popular. There’s still
thousands of working dogs, such as Foxhounds, Beagles,
Harriers… whatever your political views on hunting, they’re
quite an awesome sight, working together as a team. Still with
the rural theme, Border Collies work tirelessly in all weathers as

A PAT on the back…

Scientific studies have shown time and again that pet
ownership is good for people, and quite apart from the physical
exercise that comes with owning the dog, there’s the stress relief
factor too, which is why Pets As Therapy Dogs – or PAT Dogs as
they are better known – have been doing such a grand job for
the past 25 years. They cheer up elderly and infirm residents at
homes or patients in hospitals. Then there’s Assistance Dogs.
Guide Dogs being the obvious examples, but nowadays you’ll
find more breeds than just Labradors, Golden Retrievers and
German Shepherds leading the way; there’s Weimaraners,
Newfoundlands, Poodles and a couple of Labradoodles on the
books too.
Let’s not forget Hearing Dogs and of course Assistance Dogs
– as typified by the undisputed star of Canine Partners charity,
Labrador Endal, with his human partner Allen Parton.
Allen and Endal’s partnership is well known. Allan, a naval
officer, was severely injured in the first Gulf War and was
confined to a wheelchair, with severe loss of memory – he
couldn’t remember his wife Sandra or their children and as a
result he became depressed and bad tempered. Endal, meanwhile,
was proving to be a handful as a trainee Assistance dog and was
likely to be rejected as suitable for the job. But when he met
Allan at a day centre, the two just clicked and an indomitable
partnership was born. Allan’s depression lifted and he began to
take an interest in life and fell in love with Sandra, Endal settled
down to be a loyal and hard-working companion, and he was, of
course, Best Man’s Best Friend at Allen and Sandra’s second
wedding. Just for good measure, Endal saved Allen’s life.
When visiting Crufts dog show in 2001, Allen was knocked
out of his wheelchair by a speeding car and left unconscious in
a car park.The driver was in a deep state of shock, so Endal took
charge and pulled Allen into the recovery position, covered him
with a blanket and fetched his mobile phone. Getting no
response Endal then left Allen’s side and went to a near by hotel
and raised the alarm.

trained to help during
armed sieges and wear
miniature television
cameras
with
transmitters fitted to
their
heads
or
harnesses.
These can alert
officers to suspects
hiding in a building,
its layout and whether
or not anyone is
armed.
The
‘FidoCam’worn by
the dogs wirelessly
transmits audio and
video back to a hand-held monitor for officers to view. It can also be used
to search buildings in the dark, with infrared imaging. The Firearms
Intervention and Dangerous Operations (Fido) cameras were funded by
Preston businessman Ilyas Ahmed.
Sgt Phil Kenyon, of Lancashire Constabulary's Police Dog Training Unit,
said: ‘We have used earlier versions of the Fido system for some years with
notable success but the technology behind it is progressing at a tremendous
pace.
‘Mr Ahmed's involvement in the project means that we can equip our dogs
and their handlers with state of the art cameras to make the hazardous work of
our Specialist Firearms Teams that bit easier. There is no doubt in my mind that
Mr Ahmed's kind gesture will go some way towards making life for the people
of our communities even safer’.

You Can’t Keep That Dog ‘Ere…
Oh yes we can, said the defiant pet owning council tenants of
Nottingham City Council won their fight against a sneaky
revision to their tenancy agreements which would have
restricted the number of pets they can keep in their homes. A
new tenancy agreement which is due to come into effect at the
end of February, has dropped its draconian clause which limited
pets to just one cat or one dog per household.
Since September 2007 when pet owners discovered the
poorly publicised, proposed change to their tenancy – reported
previously in OUR DOGS – they launched a fight-back campaign
which included extensive media coverage on the Internet, TV
and radio, as well as an online petition, many letters and around
130 calls to the council, all of which finally persuaded
Nottingham City Council to revert to its old rules.
Campaign Co-ordinator Michelle Morgan told OUR DOGS:
‘Well, we have won. They are leaving the tenancy agreement
unchanged and maintaining the status quo as far as that clause is
concerned. So, tenants are still not allowed cat and dogs in flats
or maisonettes, but they can keep as many as is reasonably
practicable in a house.’
The tenants’ victory will no doubt act as an inspiration for
council tenant in other parts of the UK who are also fighting
intransigent, anti-dog plans by Town Hall mandarins. When will
they ever learn that all people want is their bins to be emptied
regularly and their drains to be clear? Leave the dogs alone!
On the Hustings
Of course, not all politicians are anti-dog and the Scottish
Parliament proves to be a good case in point. This year, they are
consulting on a new Dog Care Code to ensure that dog owners
put their pets’ welfare first. Okay, it does smack of meddling, but
as long as the politicians actually listen to what genuine dog
experts tell them, then it won’t be a ‘one size fits all’ piece of
legislation.
In fact, in 2007, Scotland showed the way again by holding its
first ever Animal Welfare Hustings – and possibly the first of its
kind anywhere in the UK ahead of the Scottish Parliamentary
Elections last Spring.
The hustings took place at the Lesser Albert Hall in Stirling
and were chaired by international animal welfare expert Dr
Michael Appleby of the World Society for the Protection of
Animals, (WSPA). Several MSPs and prospective MSPs attended
and answered questions.
Animal welfare has been a key issue for many of the parties
involved in the Scottish elections. Three of the parties contesting
seats – the Greens, Liberal Democrats and Scottish Socialists –
all devoted sections of their election manifestos to animal
welfare issues, whilst several of the other parties’ manifestos
contained references to better protection for wildlife and farm
animals.
The evening got under way with a full house, indicating the
sheer strength of public feeling for animal welfare issues. Topics
that were raised and discussed included issues such as snaring
and farming procedures, whilst companion animals took up a
great part of the debate.
When the meeting concluded after nearly two hours, a final
question was asked from the floor which summed up the depth
of feeling and positive attitudes involved: ‘When can we have
another meeting like this one?’
Animal welfare and pet ownership in general is clearly a strong
issue in the minds of voters – perhaps MPs in the political parties
at Westminster – and indeed in local councils across the UK –
would do well to take this point on board.
Perhaps by the time the next General Election comes round,
voters will have the chance to ask prospective MPs similar
questions and emulate the excellent example being set in
Scotland.
After all, politicians would do well to remember that there are
over six million dogs in the UK… and at the end of every lead
there is a voter! Now that’s what I call a lead in the opinion
polls!
A d o p t i o n D r i ve
Proof that big business can have a human – or canine – face
came in January when pet food giant Pedigree Masterfoods
launched a canine Adoption Drive initiative in the UK, taking the
company into another area of emphasis after its shock decision
last summer to withdraw sponsorship of UK dog shows.
Whilst retaining its position as Crufts’ main sponsor, in August
Pedigree told the Kennel Club that it had decided to withdraw

UK today.’
And Even More Canine Heroes
The UK’s largest dog welfare charity, the Dogs Trust, proudly
announced the winners of the first ever Dogs Trust Honours –
dubbed ‘the Doggy Pride of Britain’. The results were revealed
earlier this month at a star-studded ceremony at London’s
Guildhall.
The Honours were set up to recognise the nation’s canine
heroes – those dogs who have gone the extra mile for their
owners. The ceremony was attended by celebrity guests
including Graham Norton, Martin Freeman and Jennie Bond –
though the real stars of the show were the dogs themselves.
17 dogs from across the UK were shortlisted for five different
award categories: Quality of Life, Hero Dog, Lifetime
Achievement, Triumph Over Adversity and the Pickles Award for
outstanding canine endeavours.
The charity’s Chief Executive Clarissa Baldwin commented:
‘This is the first year the charity has run the Dogs Trust Honours,
and all the finalists’ moving stories made it an incredible evening:
by the end, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Now I just hope
even more people enter their own canine heroes for next year’s
awards, and make sure they get the recognition they deserve!’
Hear! Hear! In fact, let’s have better recognition for ALL dogs,
and let’s hope this year brings even more good news for dogs,
because they really are Man’s Best Friend… and long may they
remain so!

The UK Fire Service Search and Rescue
dog teams will also return this year to give
audiences a unique insight into their outstanding rescue work at UK and International disaster areas.
Finally, for the first time ever, Pedigree
will wrap up their presence at this year’s
Crufts by hosting a live charity auction with
items from celebrity supporters including
Martin Freeman, Jilly Cooper, Paul O’Grady
and Lorraine Kelly to name a few. All proceeds will go towards supporting the Pedigree Adoption Drive and will be distributed
by the Kennel Club Charitable Trust.

General information: Crufts main Information Centre is
situated opposite the entrances to Halls 3 and 3a. Please
note that unfortunately NO DOGS other than those that
have been invited by the Kennel Club are permitted into
the show.
Arena seating: Admission tickets now include Arena seating for up to 6,000 visitors. Apart from the Best in Show
programme which requires an additional ticket and subject
to availability.
Bank: National Westminster Bank Plc has a branch situated on the Piazza at the NEC. For opening hours, please
contact the bank directly.
Creche: A children's crèche will be available during the
show. All lost children should be taken to, or collected
from, the children's crèche.
Cloakroom: Situated in the Piazza at the NEC near the
main entrance. Luggage can also be left at them.
Discover Dogs: Over 190 different breeds of pedigree dog
to get better acquainted with in the Discover Dogs area.
Export enquiries: The Overseas Lounge or the Kennel Club
main information stand are able to deal with all export enquiries.
Filming & photography: Commercial cinematography and
television equipment may only be used at Crufts if a permit has been issued by the Organisers. There are also certain restrictions on the use of cameras for still
photography and private video films. Full details of these
and filming permits may be obtained from the Press Office, Crufts, 1-5 Clarges Street, Piccadilly, London W1J
8AB.
Postal facilities: The Royal Mail post office is situated on
the Piazza at the NEC.
Prams: Prams or push-chairs may be admitted and
wheeled around the Show. The Organisers reserve the
right to refuse entry to prams or push-chairs if it is felt
that the Halls are overcrowded.
Press centre: The Crufts press centre is situated in the
Toute Suite in front of the main doors at the NEC and facilities are available to accredited press only.
Restaurants: Several restaurants will be open to the public during the opening hours of the show.

SCOOPY-DO foam can be used indoors and out, it contains a fragrance to mask
unpleasant odours and an antibacterial agent to protect against disease. So,
probably the worst chore for the dog owners has just become a million times more acceptable, thanks to Scoopydo. In fact, using SCOOPY-DO actually makes dog poo look and smell nice!
Aside from camouflaging faeces, SCOOPY-DO foam also doubles as a carpet spot cleaner. The product has been
tested and approved by the Woolsafe Organisation. With dog faeces being extremely unpleasant in public places and
a possible health hazard, local authorities require dog owners to properly dispose of faecal deposits, favouring programs to encourage and make it easier for people to be more responsible. Scoopy-do is presented in a handy 150ml
aerosol displaying the Woolsafe Approved logo.
SCOOPY-DO is economical to use, one aerosol contains approximately 50 applications. Very little of the product

Six of the UK’s most outstanding dog breeds are the latest to benefit from Royal Canin’s unique
approach, with specialist nutrition tailored to their individual needs. Chihuahua, Golden Retriever,

Midas had a short, but successful career, and
proved to be an outstanding showman. Here at
Charney we are extremely proud of his achievements, both for ourselves and his breeder Gordon Lister.
Sadly we lost Midas in February 2007, but we
are thankful that we have some of his sons and
daughters who will be trying their best to emulate their father. He will be a hard act to follow
and is still sadly missed.

Home of title makers and record breakers
From our very first litter in 2001, and from only
three litters, castleavery have bred 10 champions
worldwide. These title include five UK champions, as
well as Lux, Bel, Int, Ir, NL, NZ champions, and the
very first American champion bitch.
Vallhunds were only recognised in the USA in June ’07,
and Am Ch Castleavery Storm Shimmer gained her
Am title in only four shows, winning all majors and
BOBs.

CH SHOW NEW YORK, 2008, this was the first time
Vallhunds were scheduled at WESTMINSTER, TIA
again has made breed history.
