Small breeds. Big personalities.
Small breeds. Big personalities. Feed and protect them for life. FRENCH BULLDOG Frenchies were first bred in fin de siècle Paris. Social climbers, they quickly charmed the upper classes of society with their unusual faces and sweet disposition. POMERANIAN Queen Victoria of England owned one of these alert little dogs, and they have remained popular companions ever since. They love playing and frequent brushing. PARSON RUSSELL TERRIER This adventurous little guy is a natural hunter and gets bored easily indoors. Give him room to romp and plenty of challenges. DACHSHUND (LONG HAIRED) This loveable little guy is even-tempered and loves using his nose. Originally bred for hunting, the Dachshund is a fast, determined and fun-loving dog. SHIH TZU Originally a court dog in China, the Shih Tzu is dignified and sometimes stubborn, seeming to believe that some tasks are beneath him. JACK RUSSELL TERRIER These strong little dogs have a lot of energy, so be sure to give them lots of play and stimulation. They’re also intelligent, fearless and vocal, making them great guard dogs. MALTESE In olden days, these lively, sweet-natured dogs were often carried in their mistresses’ sleeves. LHASA APSO In Tibet, the Lhasa Apso was meant to bring good fortune and was always given, not sold, as it was said to be the reincarnation of a monk. YORKSHIRE TERRIER What the Yorkie lacks in stature, it makes up for in attitude! This protective little dog definitely likes to be boss. DACHSHUND (SHORT HAIRED) Dachshunds love to use their keen noses, so scent-hunting games make good exercise for them. They also like to play catch. PUG This charismatic little guy is a natural clown who loves to frolic. The breed’s official motto is Multum in Parvo, Latin for ‘a lot in a little’. BICHON FRISE This playful little dog is distinguished by his loose, wooly coat and his intelligent, playful gaze. The Bischon Frise makes an excellent and loyal companion. MINIATURE PINSCHER Bold, scrappy Min Pins don’t realise how small they are — or they don’t care. They also have energy to burn and need lots of fun and exercise. CAIRN TERRIER Originally a working dog, these sturdy little dogs are brave and rugged. Toto, the dog in The Wizard of Oz, was a Cairn Terrier. ™Trademarks owned by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Inc. ©2014 CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIEL Outgoing and friendly, these dogs make great house pets. Their long, silky coats make them a joy to hold and stroke, and their gentle disposition makes them ideal for therapy work. TOY POODLE Commonly thought of as show dogs and companions to the elite, Poodles are actually descendants of hard-working herding dogs from Central Asia. MINIATURE SCHNAUZER Schnauzers get their name from the German word for snout or muzzle and were originally bred to catch rats on the farm. 238363 UK 121837 WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIER Friendly, loyal and strong-willed, Westies were originally bred for hunting and still possess a powerful prey drive. CHIHUAHUA (SMOOTH COAT) The world’s smallest breed of dog, the affectionate, alert Chihuahua was a religious symbol in ancient Mexico.
