Slipform paver SP 250
The flexible paver for profitable concrete paving
Slipform paver SP 250
Ideal combination options
for any specific requirement
Modular design, maximum flexibility
Whether paving small monolithic profiles, large concrete slabs or wide carriageways – the slipform paver
SP 250 displays exceptional versatility and highly economical
operation in concrete paving worldwide.
Based on its well-conceived modular concept, the SP 250
can be perfectly adjusted to any given application and to
specific customer requirements with regard to both, the
machine chassis and the delivery of concrete. Further strong
points are its manoeuvrability and convenient operation.
Universal
application ensures
profitability
Manoeuvrable and compact:
paving narrow carriageways
One machine pass: paving high
parapets with reinforcement
Its modular design enables the SP 250 to be converted
quickly and easily for a number of different applications.
Due to its good manoeuvrability and flexible equipment,
it is also ideally suited for paving small profiles and
narrow carriageways.
The paver can operate profitably on a long-term basis
because it can be individually expanded even after
many years.

Modular system
Intelligent modular system
offers maximum versatility
Two-part chassis, variable crawler tracks
Even the chassis of the SP 250 is of modular design to
allow maximum versatility in operation: The rear chassis module can be combined with one of two different front
modules. If the machine is used solely for paving small
monolithic profiles, the rigid front module with only one
crawler track is entirely adequate. The displaceable front
chassis module combined with bolster beams for the
crawler tracks is ideally suited when paving carriageways
or placing high profiles with a large offset.
Geared for every
type of job
A: Rigid front chassis
module for one or two
crawler track units
Rear chassis module with
engine unit, two crawler tracks
and operator’s platform
B: Displaceable front
chassis module for
two crawler track
units
Manoeuvrable and flexible:
paving small profiles in an
inner-city area
Option A: paving small profiles.
Option B: paving profiles at a greater
distance from the paver
The rear chassis module remains the same and can be
combined with two different front chassis modules.
Compact machine dimensions and fast completion
reduce traffic obstructions to a minimum when paving
traffic parapets on a motorway.
The displaceable front chassis module enables flexible
positioning of the crawler tracks – which is ideal when
paving profiles at a greater distance from the paver.

Modular system
Universal application,
whether profiles or carriageways
One system offering
a variety of options
Paving carriageways: Concrete is
delivered to the mould
Profitable: Continuous paving
requires only few personnel
Paving offset: swivelling feeding auger,
crawler tracks on the inside
Precise: automatic levelling system
for placing profiles true to line and
level
One machine, numerous options
Since the individual components of the SP 250 can be
combined in various ways, one machine can be used
for paving both concrete slabs and monolithic profiles.
Moreover, many different shapes can be paved.
Depending upon the application, the crawler tracks can be
positioned either on the inside or on the outside, and the
swivelling feeding auger or the charging conveyor enable
continuous offset paving even at maximum distance from
the paver.
Option 1: paving carriageways, working
width from 100 cm to 250 cm
Option 2: paving offset, mould close to
the chassis
Flexible: paver equipped with
mould for producing a wastewater
channel
The same machine: paving
agricultural or bicycle paths
Option 3: paving offset, mould at
maximum distance, rear left crawler
track telescoped
The machine equipped with four crawler tracks,
displaceable front chassis module and charging
conveyor allows many different paving options.
The vibrators can be positioned in such a way that
the entire cross-section of a monolithic profile is of a
consistently high concrete quality.
Vibrators emitting high-frequency vibrations compact
the construction material, distributing different
aggregate sizes uniformly throughout the concrete.
The machine operator hardly notices the vibrations
generated by the concrete vibrators as the paver is
equipped with a vibration-isolated operator’s platform.

Mature engineering
ensures optimum work results
Trimming at level, levelling precisely
A trimmer integrated in the machine frame of the
SP 250 produces a level subgrade immediately prior to
paving. The trimmer can be mounted either on the right or
on the left side of the chassis. It can be widened in modular
fashion and can be laterally displaced hydraulically.
Precise levelling is another crucial factor when it comes to
achieving optimum work results. For this purpose, the
SP 250 is alternatively equipped with either a wire-rope
sensor or a slab tracer which continuously send their
measurement readings to the machine’s control system.
Maximum precision
ensures top quality
Highly sensitive: The system
registers even minute variations
Precise: Sensors scan the gradeline and transmit the signals to the
machine’s control system
During the paving operation, the entire trimmer module
can be raised at the push of a button. This is ideal when,
for instance, water gullies are paved after the manholes
have been installed.
When levelling automatically with steering and height
sensors along the grade-line, the measurement readings are registered and transmitted to the machine’s
control system. If required, the control system will then
adjust the direction of travel or the height setting. In this
way, pre-determined dimensions are adhered to with
maximum accuracy.

Concrete delivery options
enable high daily production
Flexible: concrete delivery in
optimum position due to variable
adjustment
The concrete feeding auger delivers
concrete directly to the offset mould
Profitable: continuous concrete
delivery with concrete and
transverse feeding auger
Concrete and transverse feeding augers
plus a short charging conveyor enable offset
paving at a greater distance from the paver
Mixing quality: no segregation when
transporting the concrete in the auger
Three modules, optimum positioning
Three hydraulically driven modules ensure optimum
concrete delivery in any given offset paving situation:
one feeding auger and two charging conveyors of different
length. They can be combined with both front chassis
modules.
Whether paving high profiles, using projecting moulds or
working on job sites where space is confined: Conveyors of
different length, which can additionally be displaced laterally,
ensure continuous concrete delivery and the resulting high
daily production rates at all times.
Broad range of applications:
3 concrete delivery options
SP 250 with feeding auger
Continuous and
safe working
Long charging conveyor: ideally
suited for projecting moulds
SP 250 with short charging conveyor
SP 250 with long, folding conveyor
The feeding auger and the short charging conveyor can
be combined with both front chassis modules.
The long charging conveyor – the frame of which can
be displaced laterally – broadens the SP 250’s range of
applications even further. The conveyor is hydraulically
folded for transport.
The transverse feeding auger transports the concrete to
the paving mould when the mixer truck travels in the
paver’s path and profiles have to be paved at a great
distance from the paver.

Optimum conditions
ensure profitable application
Simple operation, time-saving conversion
The more simple the operation of a machine is, the
more reliable it is, too. The walk-through operator’s
platform of the SP 250 has a clearly structured design with
clearly labelled operating elements. In this way, the operator
is always in full control of the machine.
The offset paving moulds can be mounted either on the left
or on the right side of the paver with a few simple flicks of
the wrist and with only little effort. This saves precious time,
making the operation even more profitable.
User-friendly and
safe operation
Remove paving mould on the
left side, unscrew four bolts,
lower suspension hydraulically
Swivel mould suspension to
the other side manually
Saves effort: raising the mould
suspension hydraulically
Raise suspension hydraulically,
secure with four bolts, mount
paving mould on the right side
Saves time: mounting the paving
mould on the other side of the machine
Since the mould can be mounted either on the left or on
the right side of the paver, the mixer trucks always travel
with the flowing traffic.
This avoids dangerous turning manoeuvres and
increases the safety of the operation in progress.
Its user-friendly modules enable the SP 250 to be
converted quickly and easily.
The easy-to-control operator’s platform is an important
safety aspect for the machine operator.

Modules
Excellent manoeuvrability and
easy loading
Manoeuvrable: four steerable
crawler tracks front and rear
Easy steering: perfect paving
of profiles even in bends
Modular steering system, extremely tight turning radii
Its mature, modular steering system makes the SP 250
highly mobile so that it masters even extremely tight
radii without requiring time-consuming manoeuvres. This is
a major advantage when paving profiles in narrow bends.
The front crawler tracks are steerable as a standard feature.
As an option, the paver can additionally be equipped with a
steering system for the rear crawler tracks. This feature
greatly facilitates driving up to the paving location, and
set-up times are reduced.
Extremely tight radii: due to the
front-track steering system
Manoeuvring without
losing time
Transport made easy: retracting
the rear crawler tracks to a
narrow position
Maximum steering angle to the left
Driving straight ahead
Maximum steering angle to the right
A special mechanism ensures that the steering system
of the front tracks operates independently of the height
adjustment.
The paver’s excellent manoeuvrability and easy loading
offer clear advantages when it comes to saving time at
work.
The charging conveyor can simply be folded upwards
to facilitate transport even further.

the SP 250 can travel where space permits.
Precise levelling technology and the paver’s steering
system enable perfect profiles to be paved even in
narrow bends.
The SP 250’s compact design and manoeuvrability are
ideally suited when paving concrete on heavily trafficked
roads and motorways.
Laterally displaceable crawler tracks ensure high stability
even when paving wide carriageways using the offset
paving method.
