Spain and Morocco Program

Journey to the ancient lands of Spain and Morocco, two countries bound by many centuries of history reflected in their modern cultures.
Immerse yourself in the varied influences of Islam, Christianity and Judaism in both lands. Local experts in both Spain and Morocco
collaborate to provide a high quality program in which participants will experience the cultures of both countries.
▪ Orientation includes airport reception in Madrid, walking tours of surroundings and info sessions at each site with staff
▪ Local study visits at all sites as details on the itinerary including accompaniment and guided tours by specialized guides and all
entrance fees
▪ Conferences with specialized lectures as well as on-site lectures and continual learning experiences, such as a visit to a working olive mill
in Spain and a tea and bread making session in Morocco
▪ Lodging and breakfast throughout the program in a double room at centrally-located lodging (hotels and hostels) in Toledo, Granada,
Seville, Tarifa, Chefchaouen, Fes, Rabat and Casablanca (all meals in Morocco)
▪ Ground transportation throughout the program, including arrival and departure airport transfers at one designated time
▪ One-way ferry Tarifa-Tangiers
▪ For one accompanying professor: all program inclusions and lodging in a single room at hotels in Spain and in family homes and
hostels in Morocco
▪ Health Insurance includes staff-accompanied visits to clinics on request
▪ 24/7 support from on-site Group Leader and full-time bilingual staff in Spain and Morocco

Arrival at Madrid airport, transfer to hotel in Toledo
Lunch on own; afternoon orientation, welcome reception and dinner on own
Day 2
Morning guided visits in Toledo: Cathedral, Synagogue/Sephardic Museum and Santo Tomé
Lunch on own, afternoon workshop on tapas culture in Spain, tapas dinner on own
Day 3
Morning departure for Granada with a stop en route at a local olive oil mill
Afternoon arrival in Granada, check-in at hostel, lunch on own and orientation walk, tapas dinner on own
Day 4
Morning guided tour of the Alhambra Palace and Generalife gardens
Lunch on own, afternoon walk in Granada’s picturesque Albaicín neighborhood, tapas dinner on own
Day 5
Morning departure for Seville with a stop en route in Córdoba
Guided visits in Córdoba: Mosque-Cathedral, Synagogue and Casa Sepharad, lunch on own in Córdoba
Afternoon arrival in Seville, check-in at hotel and orientation walk, tapas dinner on own
Day 6
Morning guided visit of Seville’s Royal Palace and Jewish Quarter, lunch on own
Afternoon conference with specialized lecturers: “Spain Today” and “Sephardic Spain”
Evening flamenco show at CC-CS headquarters followed by tapas dinner on own

Morning conference with a specialized lecturer on “Al-Andalus: The Three Cultures”
Tapas lunch on own, afternoon guided tour of Seville’s Cathedral, dinner on own
Day 8
Morning departure for Gibraltar, guided visits in Gibraltar: “Rock Tour”
Lunch on own in Gibraltar, afternoon visit to the Baelo Claudia Roman ruins in Tarifa
Check-in and free time at beachfront Tarifa hotel, dinner on own

Morning departure by ferry Tarifa-Tangiers, guided tour of Tangiers, lunch at a local restaurant
Bus Lecture: “Northern Morocco: Opportunities & Challenges” en route to Chefchaouen (Rif Mountains)
Arrival and dinner at hotel
Day 10
Guided tour of Chefchaouen: “Architecture and Daily Life of Locals”, followed by lunch at a local restaurant
Free time: suggested activity: hiking in small groups or one big group
Q&A session with program coordinator followed by dinner at the hotel
Day 11
Morning departure for Fes with a stop en Ouezzane; Bus Lecture en route: “Educational System in Morocco”
Guided tour of the old city of Ouezzane followed by lunch at a private home
Lecture: “Women in Islam”, continue via bus to Fes
Evening arrival at hotel in Fes, free time and dinner at the hotel
Day 12
Morning guided tour of the old city of Fes including stops in the Jewish Quarter, Synagogue, food market,
blacksmith, Karawayen University, Kuranic school, and tanneries
Lunch at a local restaurant, resume tour and visit Tijani Sufi brotherhood
Afternoon return to hotel, visit to local Batha NGO
Evening group discussion with Fes University Cross-Cultural studies Master’s students, dinner at hotel
Day 13
Morning departure for Rabat; Bus Lecture en route: “Moroccan Identities”
Lunch at CCCL; Bus tour: “Daily Life and Architecture in Rabat”
Check in at hotel, free time and dinner at a local restaurant
Day 14
Free morning in Rabat (suggestions will be made), lunch at a local restaurant
Experiential session: tea and bread making
Orientation to family life in the old city of Rabat, followed by family pick-up and dinner with families
Day 15
Departure for Casablanca, guided tour of city including Hassan II Mosque
Check-in at hotel and lunch at hotel, free afternoon or visit of Jewish Museum
Day 16
Total: 15 nights/16 days
End of program, departure from Casablanca airport

The Center for Cross-Cultural Study and INSTITUTION NAME hereby enter into an agreement to develop a Cultural Travel Program in
Spain and Morocco, for the dates listed on the Program Calendar, in accordance with these terms:
Payment Schedule
1st Payment – Program Deposit – 25% of Total Program Cost
This payment is a non-refundable deposit to cover forward costs assumed by CC-CS prior to the start of the program.
Due: two months prior to program start date
2nd Payment – Final Payment
This payment covers the entire program and will include any credits or debits made as a result of any adjustments to the
program or number of participants.
Due: one month prior to program start date
Refund Policy
All Custom Program proposals will include stated deadlines for all payments and materials collection. All Statements of Account
will include a detailed description of the CC-CS refund policy.
Terms & Conditions
Any considerable decrease in the exchange rate and/or increase in the inflation rate may affect the final fees.
The proposed Program is good until stated expiration, unless extended.
Student applications are due two months prior to program start date
The Center for Cross-Cultural Study Inc. (CC-CS) makes every effort to protect the
welfare and safety of its students. However, CC-CS will not accept responsibility for
damage to or loss of property, personal illness or injury, or death while a student is
on the program.
In all matters relating to travel on CC-CS programs, CC-CS holds itself free of any
responsibility for any delay, loss, or accident occasioned by the air and land carriers
or their agents. The Center for Cross-Cultural Study, Inc., is not an agent for
students at The Center for Cross-Cultural Study, S.L. or Edutravel, S.L. (Spanish
Corporations), and as such holds itself free of any responsibility for any loss or
accident occasioned by the program of study and travel conducted by CC-CS.
CC-CS reserves the right to change any arrangement set forth in announcements of
the program, offering substitutes of equal value, or to cancel the program entirely
with full refund. Rates and schedules are subject to change.
CC-CS reserves the right to dismiss any student from its programs in violation of
any published CC-CS policies.
I do forever RELEASE, acquit, discharge, and covenant to hold harmless The
Center for Cross-Cultural Study, Inc. and The Center for Cross-Cultural Study, S.L.
and its agents, officers and employees from any and all actions, causes of action,
and claims on account of, or in any way growing out of, directly or indirectly, all
known and unknown personal injuries or property damage which I may now or
hereafter have resulting from my students’ participation in any CC-CS programs.
