Offering all the advantages of a Full Package Industry, it has become the country’s second largest non-traditional export sector at a global level: • • • • • Vertical integration from the supply of raw material to the finished product Highly qualified human resources throughout the value chain Ability to adapt to customer’s requirements Modern, international quality standards certifications, working conditions and environmental protection Legal framework and institutional backing which facilitate international trade The Free Trade Agreement between Peru and USA, Canada as well as European Union has removed customs duties and tariffs on imports of almost all Peruvians products, opening new opportunities for the sector. Iconic international brands like Hugo Boss, Armani Exchange, Lacoste, Perry Ellis, Nautica, Eiteen Fisher, Marc Jacobs, Adidas, Ralph Lauren, Fila, Claiborne, Gap, Gant, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Elie Tahari, Petit Bateau, among others, have chosen Peruvian companies to manufacture their collections. LUXURY MATERIALS Alpaca PROMPERÚ Peru accounts for 80% of the global production of alpaca fibre, which along with vicuña, cashmere and mohair, is regarded as one of the most luxurious and sought-after animal fibres in the fashion world. Also known as the "fibre of the gods", alpaca is synonymus with elegance and exclusivity since pre-Columbian times. Peruvian alpaca, obtained from herds reared in the country's southern mountains, stands out for its ten natural shades and its intrinsic softness, versatility, and suitability for dyeing and weaving. 5,000 years of textile tradition The oldest textile clothing remains found in Peru date impressively embellished with gold, silver, copper, precious stones, feathers from Amazonian birds and coral reflect the ancient techniques that were rediscovered by the Incas and handed down through the generations to the present day. Fair trade and social responsibility policies With the support of trade unions and government bodies, most Peruvian companies in the sector have adopted social responsibility and fair trade policies to guarantee sustainable development and to protect and respect the rights of their employees, fibre producers and guilds. Gossypium barbadense is the scientific name of the coon grown in Peru since pre-inca times. The pima and tanguis varieties, developed in the mid-20th century on the central and northern coasts of Peru, produce some of the longest, finest and most disease-resistant fibres in the world. Pima coon, ideal for making breathable, comfortable, modern clothes, has a particular sheen and unbeatable softness of hand. Tanguis, meanwhile, is ideal for blends with wool and other natural or man-made fibres, and has a great capacity to absorb dyes, making it perfect for printing. Boasting innovative designers, premium materials, advanced manufacturing techniques, responsible business leaders and practices as well as great cultural significance, Peru has all the aributes to manufacture and clothe the world in the best garments. 6 7 Floor Plan Las Vegas Convention Center – North Hall PERU BOOTH ENTRANCE COMPANY 61612 TEXMA 61611 CREDITEX 61610 61609 ARTIMODA FRAMA’Z 61608 INTRATESA 61607 61606 61605 TEXTILES CROSS PERUVIAN SOURCING GROUP TEXGROUP 61604 TRENTO 61603 CORCELI Exhibitors list ARTIMODA S.A.
