TiVo® from RCN provides endless entertainment possibilities with tons of choices from
RCN On Demand, YouTube™, Pandora, photos, live TV and your recorded shows. Plus,
Intelligent Search, up to 2X the recording space of a regular DVR.
Live TV: Return to live TV at any time.
Press the LIVE TV button on your RCN TiVo remote to
watch live TV. Press LIVE TV again to switch tuners.

TiVo from RCN remote control to get to TiVo Central®.
My Shows: All your recorded or downloaded programs.
My Shows is the first menu item on the TiVo Central screen. Here
you’ll find all of your recorded and downloaded shows and all of
your TiVo Suggestions.
Hint: You can get to the My Shows list by pressing
on your remote control twice.
Parental Controls: Controlling access is easy.
Restrict access to shows based on their ratings or simply restrict
certain channels. In HD menus from the TiVo Central screen,
select Settings & Messages > Parental Controls. In SD menus from
the TiVo Central screen, select Settings & Messages > Settings >
Parental Controls.
Getting recommendations
Discovery Bar: Get personalized recommendations.
The Discovery Bar is the bar of thumbnail images across the top of
TiVo Central and most other HD menus screens. The Discovery Bar
helps you find new shows that are similar to shows you’ve recorded.
And it doesn’t contain only shows. You’ll also find thumbnails for
actors, collections of related shows, and more. Press the
arrow to move up to the Discovery Bar, then the
and
arrows to move around. Press
on an image that interests you to
open an information screen about that item.
TiVo® Suggestions:
Record shows that match your
preferences.
Based on the ratings you give to shows and movies, TiVo
Suggestions automatically selects and records new content on your
TiVo. It’s a great way to make new discoveries. Don’t worry, TiVo
Suggestions won’t override your own recordings or steal valuable
disk space. If you choose to auto-record TiVo Suggestions, you’ll
find a list of recorded TiVo Suggestions in your My Shows list. TiVo
Suggestions are marked with a Suggestions icon®.
Note: to turn off automatic recording of TiVo Suggestions, go to TiVo Central
screen, select Settings & Messages > Settings > Recording > TiVo Suggestions >
Select “No don’t record TiVo Suggestions”. When Automatic recording is on (the
default), TiVo Suggestion may be recorded if there’s available space. Remember,
recordings you schedule will never be deleted to make room for Suggestions.
Also, if space is needed for your recordings, Suggestions are the first shows to
be deleted.

The TiVo Central screen is the MAIN MENU and starting
point for all your TiVo features and settings. No matter
where you are in your programming search, the

will always take you back to TiVo Central.
Finding & Recording Shows
Search: Find what you love to watch.
From the TiVo Central screen, select Find TV, movies
& videos, then select Search. Enter a few letters of
the show title or actor’s name, and the TiVo service
searches across TV, RCN On Demand and the Internet
to find matches.
WishList® searches: Find shows that match your areas of interest.

Search by actor, director, keyword or category, and every time a show’s title or
description matches your criteria, it’s recorded for you. From the TiVo Central
screen, select Find TV, movies & videos, then select WishList saved searches.
Season Pass® recordings: Record every episode of a show.
Set up a SeasonPass® recording and your TiVo box will record your shows
whenever they air, even when they change time slots. To set up a Season Pass®,
just select a show from the guide or your search results and choose ‘Get a
Season Pass’.
IMPORTANT: Please visit tivo.com/rcn to register your TiVo from RCN. This will
allow you to remotely schedule recordings, learn about extra features of TiVo from
RCN and get updates when you schedule recordings through the Internet. You will
need your TiVo from RCN Service Number (TSN) to complete your registration.

now, and what’s coming up. Use the arrow keys to move around the guide.
Press FORWARD and BACK to move right or left one page at a time. Press
ADVANCE
to move 24 hours ahead and REPLAY
