As we age, eating well can be the key to a positive outlook and answer to staying emotionally balanced. Other benefits include better health, higher energy, faster recuperation from illness or surgery, mental sharpness, and overall improved quality of life. There are many reasons why seniors have trouble eating nutritious meals every day. Eating alone is not always fun and can be boring. It may also be hard to plan, shop and cook meals. Sometimes there are medical problems preventing good eating habits. Senior Meals Program provides companionship and healthy meals for seniors who are isolated and lonely or unable to prepare their own meals. There are two components within the meals program. The Meals on Wheels component provides lunch for people who are homebound and/or disabled, and helps them maintain independence. Many participate following discharge from the hospital. The Café or on-site Meals Program provides a social atmosphere and lunch. Dining sites are located in senior centers and at other venues. e er are mor h t e g o t ls a ier, more joying me Seniors en etter and live health tb likely to ea s. active live Learn more … about locations how you can apply how you can help
