PerformancePLUS Teacher Manual INTRODUCTION PerformancePLUS gives users the ability to track and analyze student achievement using charts, graphs, and interactive reports. This manual contains instructions for PerformancePLUS users on getting started, viewing assessments and standards, opening reports, viewing/editing classes and more. LOGGING IN To log in to PerformancePLUS, click on the PerformancePLUS link located on the Curriculum Page on www.bayvillageschools.com or go to http://10.52.150.21/performanceplus . At this time you must be logged into a district computer (as yourself) to log-in to PerformancePlus. 1. Enter your User Id and Password (will be the same as your district computer log-in) 2. Click the Login button 3. Agree to the User Compliance to authorize access to your student records. PerformancePLUS Teacher Manual NAVIGATION – SYSTEM ICONS In the upper right corner there are three system icons, the UserVoice icon, the Question Mark icon, and the Logout Icon. These icons appear on all screens. UserVoice Icon: The UserVoice icon allows users to submit product enhancement ideas from the end user. Question Mark: The Question Mark icon represents the page help for the current page. Logout Icon: The Logout icon logs users out of the current session. NAVIGATION – NAVIGATION BAR Centered near the top of the page is the Navigation bar. Each icon takes users to a different area of the application. Hovering over each icon reveals its title. The icons displayed vary according to licenses purchased. • Home: • Reports: • Standards: Returns the user to the Home page. Takes the user to the Reports page. Takes the user the Standards page. Allows users to view/edit the standards stored in the software. • Classes: Takes the user to the Class(es) page. This will display the user’s classes. It does not allow a user to search for other teacher’s classes. • Students: Takes the user to the Student search page. Allows users to search/view/edit student information stored in the software. • Assessments: Takes the user to an Assessment search page. • Messages: Takes the user to the Messages screen. Allows users to view/send instant messages to other users within the district. PerformancePLUS Teacher Manual FINDING YOUR CLASSES 1. From the navigation bar, click the Classes icon. 2. The Classes page appears. 3. Class Name will show the BVCS Course Name and Section Number. The Description Column shows the BVCS Course Number. 4. Grade Level, Subject and Number of students are also indicated for each class. GRADING ASSESSMENTS 1. From the Classes page, click on the “Grade Assessment” icon in the same row as the class you are grading. The Assessment Screen will appear. 2. In the Assessments Search Box, you can select the filters in the drop down menu to find the appropriate SGM. You can filter by Grade, School Year and Subject: PerformancePLUS Teacher Manual GRADING ASSESSMENTS (CONT) Some helpful filtering tips: Grade Bay High School, ALL SGMs live in the 12th grade Bay Middle School, ALL SGMs live in the 8th grade Elementary Schools, SGMS are divided by grade level School Year - Use the current school year Subject - Select the subject of the course you are teaching 3. All subjects, with the exception of BMS Math and BMS ELA will have 2 assessments. In BHS and BMS, they are designated A & B. (i.e. Science A and Science B). In the Elementary schools, they are Reading and Math. Pre-Test A 1st Assessment Post-Test A Pre-Test B Post-Test B nd 2 Assessment 4. For your Assessment pre-test scores, select the earlier date in the term. Post-test scores will go in the later date in that term. (i.e. for a year long term, Pre-test is 9/30/2014 and Post-test is 2/27/2015) You DO NOT have to give the assessments on this date – it is an arbitrary date to allow us greater flexibility and for running comparative reports) 6. Select the appropriate Assessment and Date for the test you are administering. . Then click “Continue” – 7. Students in your class will appear on the next screen. Confirm the Class Name, Assessment Name and Date at the top of the page. If the information is correct, click on “Switch to Mass Grade”. You can change the assessment or assessment date by clicking on “Grade a Different Assessment” Confirm Class and Assessment info Click here if you selected wrong assessment Click here to start entering assessment grades 8. Enter students’ scores on the next screen, then click “Save Scores” when you are finished. You can go back to add or edit scores at anytime. PerformancePLUS Teacher Manual VIEWING/EDITING ASSESSMENTS You can view or edit assessments by going back into your class and clicking on the “Grade Assessment” icon. Select the previously given assessment (from the same term) and the scores column will already be populated. Simply add or edit the scores, then click on “Save Scores”. STUDENTS Use the students menu to search for specific students. Click the Students icon to begin. 1. Enter the student’s last name. To search for partial names use an asterisk. 2. Use the Filter options to further refine the search. 3. Click the Show Students button. PerformancePLUS Teacher Manual STUDENTS (CONT.) 4. The name of the student(s) appears under the Student Name column. 5. Click the student’s name to view his/her student detail page. The student detail page appears. Here you can view their Assessment scores, schedule, groups, interventions and any stored reports. PerformancePLUS Teacher Manual RUNNING A REPORT You can run a report from PerformancePlus to compare your pre- and post- test scores. Click on the Reports icon, located in the navigation bar at the top of the screen. Reports From the REPORTS tab, select “PerformanceTracker, then “Assessment Scores” – Next, from the FILTERS tab, you will select your Assessments – • Select the current school year • Select your Subject • Select the grade range of your class • Select “SGM” as the Series • Check “Only show assessments with scores” • Check the boxes next to the Preand Post- test assessment dates you want to compare PerformancePLUS Teacher Manual RUNNING A REPORT (CONTINUED) From the OPTIONS tab, you will only need to change 2 of the default settings as shown below: 1. Change the SCORES action as “Show Scores” 2. Check the box next to “Show Growth Measures” You are now ready to run the report. Click on the “RUN REPORT” box, located underneath the navigation tool bar: PerformancePLUS Teacher Manual RUNNING A REPORT (CONTINUED) The report will show Scores from pre- and post- test, the projected score and whether the target was met or not.
