Setting up Sopro Intra-oral Cameras with TigerView on a USB2 connection Please contact Imaging Support at Acteon North America with any questions (800)289-6367 / +1(856)222-9988 First, you must install the USB 2 docking station drivers (standard install process). Next, you must acquire SoproSnap in order to use the SoproTouch feature. You can do this by contacting Imaging Support at Acteon North America. This is a NO CHARGE PROGRAM to a Sopro product customer. Once you have acquired SoproSnap, open the folder it is in and Right click and drag the “SoproSnap.exe” file into your start menu, under “Programs” / “Startup”. Please see the following steps: Following the diagrams, first left click once on the icon to highlight it, as shown above. Then Right click and hold and drag it to your start bar, as shown below: Drag it up to “All Programs” (or “Programs”, depending on your theme set): 2 Now drag it over to “Startup” and into the sub menu, then release the right mouse button. Click “Move Here”: 3 Once you’ve completed the preceding steps, you have successfully “installed” SoproSnap. Now you simply need to configure it to work with TigerView, and you’ll be all set. Continue on to the following pages for instructions on configuring TigerView to work with both the Sopro USB2 docking stations and SoproSnap. To configure TigerView to work with the Sopro Drivers and the SoproSnap program, you must first be sure to log in as an administrator. After logging in, you need to load into the “Acquire” portion of the TigerView program. It should look like (or similar to) this: Once opening into the program with the Sopro drivers installed, notice how the capture device is listed as “USB 2820 Video”. If on your configuration it is listed as something different, please change it to “USB 2820 Video”. If this is not listed, either the drivers were not installed (or not installed properly) or the camera may be being used by 4 something else. Call Acteon Imaging Support or TigerView support if you are having trouble getting this to appear. Next, change the “Input” selection to “Video SVideo”, and the “Size” selection to “640 x 480”. Once complete, it should look like the following: If everything looks as it should, then you are now ready to configure SoproSnap. To configure SoproSnap, you must first launch the program. To launch the program, navigate to the “Startup” program group in your start menu, and click “SoproSnap”: (next page »») 5 When SoproSnap is opened, a small icon will appear on the screen with a title of “SSnap”, and the SoproTouch icon. It looks like this: To open the configuration dialog, hold down the “Ctrl” key on your keyboard, and at the same time, click on the SoproTouch icon. It will open the “SoproSnap Settings” box. Make sure the “Video source” is “USB 2820 Video” and select “Mouse click” as the action. Then click and drag the ‘eye’ to the right of the “External application” box over to the side of the video box in TigerView: 6 When you initially click on the ‘eye’, the “SoproSnap Settings” box will disappear. Don’t panic, that’s supposed to happen. And when you drag it over the right side of the video window, it will have a dark black border, like so: You may now release the mouse button. The “SoproSnap Settings” box will now reappear. Make sure that “Search title text” and “Return to live after capture” are not checked, then your settings should look like the following: 7 If everything looks as it should, click “OK” and the “SSnap” icon will reappear. You can place this icon anywhere on the screen that is out of the way, but it must remain open in order for the SoproTouch to function properly with TigerView. Most of the time, the most convenient place is at the top right hand corner (next to the minimize button) like so: No more interaction with the SoproSnap icon is required. If it is functioning properly, when in TigerView with a live image, you will touch the SoproTouch and the image will become frozen on screen, and at the same time the image will be saved into the software. The second touch will return the image to live video. The SoproSnap program will stay wherever on the screen you may have put it, and will not affect anything else on the computer. SoproSnap will also automatically load when the computer is restarted. If you have any further questions, please contact Imaging Support at Acteon for questions with the camera or SoproSnap (contact information on front page).
