We are glad that you have joined us and are confident that you will have a memorable evening. Your presence makes you part of a growing community of dedicated supporters who want the Eastside to be full of opportunity and inclusive for everyone. This evening is a celebration of what has been accomplished with a look at the work which still lies ahead. Thank you for joining us! With the accomplishments of 2014 behind us, we have a great deal to celebrate. This past fall, our new community – Velocity – opened next to the South Kirkland Park & Ride. Within two months, all 58 brand new homes were filled with families and individuals who simply could not afford a market rate home on the Eastside. Many of these families were previously homeless; others had to commute great distances to get to work; all were excited to call Velocity their new home. Your support and generosity made this possible. Along with the joy of providing this new community, came the realization that over 400 other applicants did not get a home. In fact, our current waiting lists show more than 3,200 households waiting for one of our 485 units across the Eastside. This is what drives us to push forward. It is not acceptable that so many cannot afford a place to live. This past December, the Imagine Housing team completed a bold new five year strategic plan. This plan includes specific goals to double our housing units, ensure that our properties are “communities of choice,” and deliver comprehensive services to help residents with health, wellness, and vitality. Once these goals are achieved, we will be much closer to realizing our vision of an Eastside with interconnected and welcoming communities where all people can live, learn, work, and play. Thank you for being here tonight. Words cannot express how important your support is to us and to the long term health and vibrancy of our community. Sincerely, Schedule of Events 5:45 p.m. Doors Open, Silent Auction Begins Passed Appetizers and Drinks are Served 6:45 p.m. Closing of the First Silent Auction Items Numbered in the 1,000s 7:00 p.m. Closing of the Second Silent Auction Items Numbered in the 2,000s Ballroom Opens Salads are Served 7:25 p.m. Beginning of the Program Dinner is Served 9:00 p.m. Closing of the Wine Shop 9:45 p.m. Conclusion of the Live Auction Gary Helling INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PAG E 4 | Imagine 2015 Linda Bergam BOARD PRESIDENT Imagine 2015 | PAGE 5 Dinner Menu Salad Tender whole leaf honey gem hearts - with fried shallots, oil cured sungold tomato, crisp pancetta, blue cheese crumbles and ancho ranch dressing Entrées Grilled Filet Mignon - with truffle Béarnaise, garlic whips and Brussels sprouts ~ or ~ Smokey Draper Valley Chicken - with smashed potatoes, pearl onions, carrots and cremini mushrooms Dessert Frenzy Once again, Imagine Housing will host a Dessert Frenzy during the Live Auction, where several decadent desserts will be auctioned off in rapid succession. All items must be removed from The Meydenbauer at the close of the Auction. • A signature or verbal bid during the Auction constitutes a legal contract to buy. All sales are final and there will be no exchanges or refunds. In all cases of dispute, the decision of Imagine Housing is final. • P ayment must be made in full on the evening of the Auction; cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa and American Express will be accepted. • P lease pay attention to all conditions, restrictions, and expiration dates on items and services. Except where noted by the donor, services, tickets, certificate items, etc. must be used within one year of the Auction and are subject to mutually agreed upon times and dates. • No refunds will be made for cancelled tickets and accommodations. • Imagine Housing reserves the right to withdraw any item for sale prior to the call for bids. • P lease write your “giving” number and name on the sheet associated with each Silent Auction item you want to bid on. If an entry is illegible, the next legible entry will be used. • T he amount listed on the top line of each bid sheet is the minimum bid. Items may be bid up from that amount by increments noted on each bid sheet. A bidder must meet or exceed the minimum bid and must bid by the proper increment to win that item. • E xcept for “priceless” items, bidders may guarantee a successful purchase if they are willing to pay the item’s guaranteed bid price. To achieve this, enter your bid number on the bottom line of the bid sheet, circle the guaranteed bid price, and sign the sheet. • F ollowing the closing of a Silent Auction table, you may check to determine if you are the successful bidder of an item. However, please do not remove the item or any part of the bid sheet at that time. PAG E 22 | Imagine 2015 • L ooking for shorter lines? This year we are continuing the “express” check-in/check-out process. At check-in, you may elect to have us swipe your credit card. At check-out, you simply pick up your items and you’re good to go! Warranties Imagine Housing has attempted to catalog and describe each Auction item correctly based on information provided by the donor. However, all items are sold “as is, where is.” Imagine Housing neither warrants nor represents, and in no case shall be responsible for, the correctness, descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance, or condition of any of the Auction items. No statement contained in the catalog or made orally at the Auction or elsewhere shall be deemed to be such a representation or warranty. Tax Deductibility The amount of the purchase of an Auction item that is deductible for federal income tax purposes is limited to the excess of the purchase price of the Auction item over the fair market value of the item. Where possible, Imagine Housing has asked donors to provide a good faith estimate of the fair market value of each Auction item. Unless otherwise noted in the catalog, no Auction item has been formally appraised in arriving at the estimate of fair market value. Please consult your tax advisor with any questions you may have regarding your ability to take a tax deduction.
