EASTLEIGH COMMUNITY GAMES EVENT 2015 SATURDAY 25TH JULY 12-4PM PAVILION KINGFISHER RD EASTLEIGH SO50 9LH www.eastleighcommunityevents.co.uk ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET… IT’S GAMES DAY! A team of ex-Games Makers have been busy organising the third annual Eastleigh Community Games, coinciding with the anniversary of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Starting at 12 midday there is a programme of events, including live performances, refreshments, taster sports activities and fete-style stalls. Free taster sports activities will be delivered by local clubs and coaches and include Gymnastics, Boxing, Cycling, Boccia, Table-Tennis and many more! The national Community Games initiative was inspired by the 2012 London Olympics as a way of encouraging local communities to become more physically active and also to become more involved, through volunteering. This event aims to be totally inclusive and support anyone with any disability, long-term illness or life-limiting illness to take part. Like the Olympics and Paralympics, the Eastleigh Community Games is about art and culture as well as sport, so there is a performance stage which showcases the best of local musical talent! Event organiser Daisy Robinson said: “We want people to come and try something new – from Boccia to Inclusive Cycling – there is something for everyone! Activities will be available for taster sessions through-out the event, just turn-up and have a go! We even have a Smoothie Bike for those wanting to pedal to make their own smoothie! Grab an Activity Passport and get a certificate and prize for trying out six activities!” GET YOUR FREE ACTIVITY PASSPORT FROM OUR EVENT RECEPTION STALL AND START TRYING NEW ACTIVITIES!
