weather weatherprotection protection SHELTER MADE POSSIBLE Polartec Power Shield FR ® ® Breathable How does it work? Wind resistance Polartec Power Shield FR fabrics feature a tightly woven face for abrasion resistance equal or superior to the best outer shells. A velour back traps air and provides a high warmth-toweight ratio or Polartec Power Dry FR back improves moisture vapor transport. Durable water repellency The perforated membrane enables the fabric to block 98% of the wind. The remaining 2% is allowed to circulate within the fabric, which greatly enhances moisture vapor transmission- 2 times faster than other waterproof breathable shells- and improves breathablity, reducing the risk of heat stress buildup. All Polartec Power Shield FR fabrics are finished with a durable water repellent (DWR) to shed rain and snow. Abrasion resistant FR face Perforated FR membrane: blocks wind, enhances breathability Garments made from made from Polartec Power Shield FR fabrics are designed to replace traditional fleece and shell systems for most outdoor clothing application, reducing the weight and number of layers needed to insulate and protect. Technical Highlights •Permanently Flame Resistance •Does not melt or drip on skin Certifications: The 90/10 Rule of Outerwear 90% of the time that you are outside, a Polartec® Power Shield® soft shell garment is your answer. It is the most comfortable and effective outerwear piece for the majority of your outside activities. Cfm values are ft3/ft2/min. measured by ASTM D737 with vacuum settings mathematically equivalent to 30 mph wind. Conversion to l/m2/s (liters/meter2/second) also provided per ISO 9237.
