TurboFlare USA proudly announces the new “TurboFlare Alert” which incorporates an Electronic Movement Sensor Early Warning
System in the TurboFlare and the TurboFlare SOS day/night emergency road flare. This new state of the art high tech system will notify
the respondent of any interference from vehicles entering onto their TurboFlare traffic control pattern/lane closure or if any of the TurboFlares are moved in any way. An alternating beep will be sent from the TurboFlare that has been interrupted to a receiver that is worn by
the respondent attached to his/her shoulder.
When a signal is sent to the receiver it allows the respondent ample time to assess the situation and react. The TurboFlare EMD has
been used in DUI check points and at accident scenes. Lives have been saved while using TurboFlare’s EMD. TurboFlare has received

Landing Zones
LZ’S
TurboFlares are ideal for Emergency Landing Zones. Arial viewing dis
tance up to 20 miles at 5000 ft. elev. TurboFlare’s are designed to stay in
place and not be moved by rotor wash. Their patented design holds them
tight to the surface as the Helicopter arrives and departs. TurboFlare USA
offers multiple kits including a 5 unit LZK which consist of 4-Red units and
1-Blue unit (for wind direction) or 1-Green (for Hazmat) or an 8-unit LZK

The landing surface should be flat, firm, and free of debris.
Landing site should be clear of any obstructions (vehicles, trees,
poles, stumps, large debris, and wires.)
Keep in mind that wires cannot be seen from the air!
W hen possible, consider the wind direction. Mark the area with 5
TurboFlares ™ (one RED in each corner, and one BLUE indicating
wind direction).

Keep emergency personnel at least 100 feet away.
Personnel should stay clear from the LZ until the
helicopter has landed, is stable on the ground, and
rotors have stopped turning.
Keep spectators at least 200 feet away from the LZ.
One person should act as a Ground Guide once the
helicopter is sighted. That person must wear eye
protection against dust and debris blown by rotor
downdraft.
The Ground Guide should stand with their back to the
wind facing the helicopter as it approaches. Use the
hand signals above to direct the helicopter to a safe
landing.
