An unexpected visit to Canada a couple of years ago set Cassandra Philpot off
on a new path with jewellery-making. At Bavin Glassworks (Invermere, British
Columbia) she learnt to make lampwork glass beads. It was very exciting
for her to return home with a suitcase full of beads and use them, along
with pearls, crystals, silver and semi-precious stones to compose beautiful
necklaces. She now makes her own glass beads in her home studio.

earrings, designed by Mikaela and laser cut in New Zealand in Bird and Sakura
Blossom shapes. The pieces are then assembled by hand with sterling silver
bails or ear studs.
Canberra born and bred, Michael Ashley is an artist whose artwork includes
prints, cards, tea towels and t-shirts. Most of his work encompasses Canberra
landscapes, themes and unique perspectives.
