Well, talismans are meant to ward off spirits, generally. Spiritstone is rare, but it can be used in both summoning and binding magic.

So in Common - a spirit stone necklace - such as the dust I found in that crypt and which Lady Ali is coincidentally known to have
possessed... Might have been originally crafted to protect from a spirit, but could have then been perverted to actually call a spirit into
someone?

Velenus didn't have a talisman, no. Women typically wear them as necklaces, while men wear them as belt buckles or pommel pieces. As
for the others... I didn't see the bodies.

But I didn't keep other things I shouldn't. (Not that I might not have tried, but the Oridmae swooped in and took everything they could.
Most likely because they used divination and knew they'd have an opportunity.
)
But I do believe he had one or two secret places within the palace. I suspect he told Tomar the Fantastic, but he never told me. Even
though I served him longer. But... I do know how Velenus thought, and I will find them. And.. that's where you and Dironor come in. I'm
far more of a ritual caster than an go-exploring-and-possibly-find-traps kind of mage.

Do the Oridmae do spirit summoning or binding magic? My grandma is apparently an Oridmae but I don't know much about them. If not
them, who specializes in that kinda thing?
Let's say someone was wishing ill upon Lady Bellisica here and wanted to attack her with a spirit or bind one in her.... How would they go
about it?

Do either of you know Isaldra the Oridmae well? She seems to work a bit for my grandma and might be positively disposed to me. But me
talking to her too openly could arouse suspicion. I wonder if one of you could discreetly find out something from her.

Drosten isn't wrong. They always have their own agenda. My dad thinks that they might have actually burned the library at Savinadro-but that they kept secret copies of certain documents, specifically, records of which magical bloodlines mixed with which others. So they
along know what everyone can do. And then they "arrange" certain matings.
