Introduction
One of the North’s leading independent auction houses, Silverwoods’
team of expert valuers and auctioneers will appraise your antiques and
advise you on the best way of selling them should you wish to do so. The
company auctions the full range of antiques from furniture; ceramics and
glassware; silver and metalware; stamps and postcards; watercolour and
oil paintings; prints and engravings; jewellery, gold and watches, clocks
and objects d’art as well as more modern and contemporary items.
A very popular and lively Rediscovery Sale every
Wednesday will often feature up to 500 hotly contested
lots of antiques, collectables and furniture which are
posted on the company’s website the night before
every sale and is extremely well regarded by the buying
community throughout the country. A speedy turnaround
ensures that customers receive payment within a week
of the sale.
Silverwoods also holds a prestigious
bimonthly Fine Art and Antiques
auction, with an illustrated catalogue and
live internet bidding, as well as specialist
auctions such as Rural and Domestic
Bygones and other themed sales.

Services
Valuations
We hold free appraisal and valuation days every
Monday from 9.00am to 3.00pm where you can just call
in to the saleroom with your items. You can also leave
your antiques for either the bimonthly or weekly sales at
this time, should you decide to sell them. If Mondays
are inconvenient, you can phone to request a private
appointment at the saleroom on other days of the
working week.
Home visits can be arranged at the discretion of the
Auctioneer - for instance where antique furniture is
involved, for a major house clearance or valuation
of a large number of goods or if a vendor has
difficulty in visiting the saleroom. In most
cases, the easiest first step is to email images for
an initial appraisal to: wilf@silverwoods.co.uk.
