Lum The Lum !"amily is descended fro1n John {b. ca. 1620 in Yorkshire, England) who is recorded. as om of the pioneer settlers of starrLford, Conn. in 1642. He appears to have lived in several tot.vns in Conn. His name was last mentioned in kno~...rn documents i n 1673 when he was a witness to a will made in Fairfield!/ Conn by John Knowles. Harnin Lnm (1806-18!~9) was born in Woodbury, Conn. on October lBoS;- In 181!-5 he married Nancy Maria English (born February 14, 1823, die.d September 26, 1904.) 1 the daughter of' James and Ua.ncy (Griswold) English. The couple had two children. Har..pin Lum died on october 15, 1849 and is buried 1.n Southf'ord, ~T, Conn. l Joseph Af' I;•.nn, ~dhose name anpears on some of the bilJs in this c-:o:Irecti'l~as born on August 25, 1818, the son of 'Reuben and Sarah Llunf) On octobe1~ 8 , 1849 he married J\tlia.
