Crossroads of America Council’s Spring Webelos Activity Badge Day Saturday May 10, 2014 at Camp Belzer 6102 Boy Scout Road Indianapolis IN 46226 Webelos Activity Badge Day is a full day of adventure and fun! Each Scout registers for two stations. All stations are hands-on and filled with projects and excitement! Entire event is outdoors. STEM related activities include - Engineer and Scientist Workshops and the new Computers and Video Gaming Station! Pick Two to Fill Your Day! • • Engineer - drawing & drafting, surveying, electric circuits, pulleys & weight lifting • Craftsman - build tool box, key ring holder, leather key fob, free form construction, wax fire starters • Scientist - Cartesian diver, Bernoulli’s principle demo, pressure effects & water rockets! • • • • • Registration - opens April 11th! Cost $30 - Early Bird (April 11 - end of day May 7) $35 - Day-Of Registration / Adults - no fee What you will receive - A fun filled day, event patch and mementos! *Fees non-refundable, but may be transferred to another Scout. Activity Badge Workshops: Artist - paints & composition, clay piece and other projects! Adventure Stations: Computers and Video Gaming - Earn both the belt loop and pin for each and work with the latest technology from Microsoft! Hosted by: • Fire Building and Knot Tying - Learn these essential Scout skills as you prepare for Boy Scouting! Includes making a survival bracelet! Lunch Options 1) Bring a “brown bag” lunch 2) Order pizza when registering online and pizza will be delivered to camp by lunchtime. *Punch and water available at lunchtime at Welcome Shelter. Leaders Adults must accompany each group of Webelos Scouts in a ratio of 1 adult to 5 boys. A minimum of 2 adults must accompany each group. Any single Webelos Scout must be accompanied by an adult (no “drop offs”). Turn Over for Essential Information! • • • • Schedule Gear checklist Check in process Advancement info Spring 2014 Webelos Activity Badge Day Schedule Check-In At Welcome Shelter 9 AM Welcome At the campfire circle 9:20 to 11:45 AM Morning Sessions See map for locations 12:00 to 12:50 PM Lunch *Pizza to be picked up at Welcome Shelter 1:00 to 3:35 PM Afternoon Sessions See map for locations 3:45 PM Event ends at conclusion of afternoon session Official WABD Gear Checklist 8:15 to 8:55 AM • Completed Individual Health History Form (to stay with leader/guardian) • Webelos Book • Water bottle • Note pad & pencil • Appropriate clothing for weather (including rain gear) • Sunscreen • Brown-bag lunch (unless you pre-order pizza) Optional: • Camera • Day pack • Extra shoes and socks (in case it is rainy/ muddy) Event is Rain or Shine. Come prepared for expected weather. Check In Process • Please gather as a group (your pack) and ensure all attending are present. • Once all Scouts have arrived have one pack representative come up to the Welcome Shelter to check-in by unit number. • You will receive a packet of information including roster of attending Scouts, their schedules, activity information, map and patches. • Day of event registration will be available on a limited basis. Advancement Note Leaders and packs will be responsible for certifying the completion of activity badges and awards earned, turning in advancement reports to local Scout Service Center and supplying the awards.
