Both the All Mountain and Park components of the program, follow Canadian Freestyle Ski Association program design Experienced coaches provide direction for freestyle skiing on terrain park features and transferrable all mountain skills. Our program intends to place equal importance on both components creating well-rounded, technically sound free skiers while encouraging individual creativity, style, selfexpression and fun! The Mountain Our backyard boasts the largest vertical drop in the Maritimes and is home to some of the best terrain in Atlantic Canada. Through this component of the program, young skiers develop their skills organically with exposure to steeps, bumps, ungroomed and natural terrain features in the glades! Skiers learn, with the guidance of coaches, technique and versatile skills to shred the whole mountain. THE PARK Aimed at teaching the fundamentals of progressive freestyle skiing in one of the best terrain parks in Atlantic Canada. Skiers will safely learn on a step-by-step basis the tricks and maneuvers best suited for their style and abilities both on rails and jumps. The semi-structured environment fashions a safe learning experience without restricting the essential creative and fun elements of skiing. The Girls This program is designed to challenge girls to progress their all-mountain skiing and develop park skills! Coaches provide an encouraging environment that inspires the girls to have fun, teaches them to play on their skis while attempting new tricks, spins, and jumps. This program is unlike typical ski lessons and aims to develop passionate life-long skiers capable of conquering any mountain! THE COACHES The coaching staff brings a broad range of skill, experience, and enthusiasm to the table, creating a killer leadership team ready to take your freeskier to the next level. Aaron Dowding The first day my dad strapped me into my skis I was hooked and that passion has fueled over 15 years of coaching and epic pow days. I didn’t truly learn how to ski until a bunch of mountain cowboys from Banff took me in and we spent 10 years tackling the big lines together. I’m going to teach you how to own the mountain like they do out west – you’ll come away from this program with the confidence to charge steep lines with speed, hit drops that used to scare you, and read terrain like a Pro. Come rip with us this year, we want YOU in our crew! Sara Roach My parents had me on skis by 22mths old, I started ski lessons and began racing at 8yrs old. Growing up at a tiny ski resort in Ontario, our coaches focused on perfecting our technique and maximizing speed. After high school I moved to Banff, skiing as many mountains, trees, and back bowls as my legs would allow. Im looking forward to my 3rd year at Crabbe and the best one yet! Stefan Curtis I have been a skier for over 20 years, many of those seasons were spent at Crabbe Mountain. I have done it all, racing, park, urban and even a taste of big mountain. I consider myself a wellrounded skier, however, my main focus is in the park. Growing up on the east coast where the snow was not always favorable, I learned to adapt to all conditions and have fun even on those cold icy days. I look forward to transferring my rail/jump skills and sharing my knowledge with our freeski crew!
