Resort Information
Stadl - Salzburg Region
Easy Access to Salzburg
The village of Stadl lies on the boarders of the provinces
of Salzburg, Styria and Carinthia. The region is primarily
known for its many lakes, as well as the majestic Hohe
Tauern mountain range, and with its fantastic skiing and
200 days of sunshine each year, it truly is a dual season
resort.
Stadl is positioned between the two skiing areas of
Kreischberg and Turracher which offers over 70km of
skiing, and is also only 30 minutes from the Obertauern
region with over 200km of pistes.
Stadl is a pretty little village that sits at the bottom of
the Kreischberg mountain, in the valley next to the River
Mur. It is home to a lovely selection of cafes, restaurants
and shops.

Winter Activities
Winter & skiing
Moonlight Tobogganing
The family friendly Kreischberg ski region is nearby and
offers 40km of pistes with 17km of blue runs, 15km of
red runs and 8km of black runs. There is also a great
snow park, half pipe and excellent ski schools which
cater for children as young as four.
The Turracher Höhe ski region is just 20 minutes away
and offers a further 38km of slopes and a beautiful frozen
lake which you can ski over in winter. Night skiing, sleigh
rides and tobogganing are all possible in the area too
and there are a number of restaurants, bars and discos
on offer. The Obertauern ski region is also nearby and is
home to another 100km of pistes.
With 13 lifts including two cable cars, four chair lifts and
seven drag lifts, access to the pistes is easy. Good skiing
conditions are also guaranteed as the resort is snow-sure
and a vast majority of the slopes are covered by snow
cannons too. If you fancy a change from the pistes there
are five restaurants, two bars and a disco to try out.
Other activities available include ice skating, crosscountry skiing, moonlight tobogganing, snow shoe hikes
and snow tubing. Off the slopes you can also try curling
or go on a romantic horse drawn sleigh ride.

Summer Activities
Summer
Dinosaur Forrest
Located only 5 minutes from the local 18 hole, par 72
golf course with its club house and restaurant, the Stadl
is perfect base for great summer hiking and biking!
Take the cable car to the top of the tree line and start a
breathtaking hike down, you can even take your bikes
in the cable car and cycle down stopping at mountain
restaurants on the way.
Children can also enjoy Kreischberg’s dinosaur forest for
an adventure or one of the many nature trails.
As you hike down you will find yourself surrounded by
Austria’s largest Swiss stone pine forest; the Swiss stone
pine is a slow growing, compact, extremely cold-hardy
tree which can reach an age of 1,000 years and gives
excellent pollen-free mountain air.
Apart from enjoying the splendour of the many mountain
lakes in the summer these chalets also offer direct access
to the longest bike trail in Europe (over 300km), only a
15 minute walk to a natural rock bath, 10 minutes’ walk
to tennis and squash centre and fitness studios and 10
minutes’ walk for pony and horse riding. There is also a
skate board park, football pitch, and fishing in the river
Mur.
