The Early Childhood Academy will open additional classrooms at Winchester Village Elementary School and Clinton Young Elementary School! Highest number of books read online in the township--7,435 hours! Clinton Young Elementary has 4 new kindergarten classrooms! The Douglas MacArthur Elementary “Relay Recess”raised $3,100 to help fight cancer! GV raised over $2,625 to provide 175 pairs of shoes for children! Burkhart Elementary’s Walk-N-Roll walk-a-thon generated $7,458 for arts for kids programs. Homecroft Elementary partnered with the community, Eli Lilly and the American Heart Association to participate in the “Teaching Gardens” campaign. Jeremiah Gray-Edison Elementary ranked #1 in all of EdisonLearning for Student and Family Support. Mary Bryan Elementary School served as the command and relief center immediately after the Richmond Hill explosion. Rosa Parks-Edison Elementary School was named 4-Star School for 2013! (This was the third consecutive year to receive this honor!) Happy 10th Birthday! Southport Elementary School received the 2013 TAP Ambassador Award (1 of 6 in the nation) from the National Institute of Excellence in Teaching. Winchester Village Elementary staff received 12 PTEF Grants for the 20132014 school year! Perry Meridian 6th Grade Academy held its first “Access to Success” night! 60% of the students at Southport 6th Grade Academy exhibited a year or more of growth in their reading level! 72% of the students categorized as proficient or advanced! All of the PMMS music groups: band, choir and orchestra received GOLD awards in ISSMA competitions! Over 190 Southport Middle School students are entering high school with the opportunity to have college paid for through the 21st Century Scholars Program! Perry Meridian High School was named to the AP Honor Roll! The PMHS boys wrestling team won the state championship! (again!) Southport High School was named to the AP Honor Roll! 2013 Perry Township Teacher of the Year: Sara Kohne rd 53 Perry Township District-wide Art Show! Business Services Perry Township Schools received an A++ rating from Standards and Poor's. Facilities and Grounds Construction! Construction! Construction! Food Services All managers and site managers are certified or recertified in ServSafe for Food Handler Program. Human Relations and Student Services 31 PPE students graduated from the One Step Closer Program! Human Resources Employed over 100 new certified and support staff members! Technology Services Launched a K-6 digital reading program. 48,254 online books were read, representing 10,634 hours of reading by our students! Transportation Perry bus drivers transport over 11,000 children on an average day. They drive an average of 8,000 miles daily! PTEF Coach Hathaway’s Running South: 697 runners and walkers participated! Over 2,000 families and community members attended the event!
