An Affiliate of Stanford University’s Education Program for Gifted Youth About VV-Campus • V-Campus was founded in 2003 to provide enrichment opportunities for students in South East Asia • In 2004, V-Campus became an affiliate of Stanford University’s Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY) • Organizes the Stanford EPGY Honors Academies in Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta and Hong Kong About Stanford University • Founded in 1891 by Jane and Leland Stanford in memory of their only son Leland Stanford Jr. • Current faculty include 17 Nobel Laureates and 4 Pulitzer Prize winners • Ranked 2nd in The Times Higher Education World University Rankings • Ranked 5th by U.S. News Stanford University Alumni Steve Ballmer, CEO Doris Fisher, Co-Founder Kevin Systrom & Mike Krieger Jeff Bewkes, CEO William Hewlett & David Packard, Founders Peter Thiel, Co-founder Sergey Brin & Lawrence Page, Founders Philip Knight, Chairman Jerry Yang & David Filo, Founders History of Stanford EPGY • 1963 ~ 1985: Used computers to teach mathematics to elementary school students • 1985 ~ 1992: Used computers to provide a first-year calculus course. • 1990 ~ 1991: Focus turned to gifted middle or early high school students • 1992 ~ 1995: Moved program to multimedia personal computers.
