The club would go on to be one of the most successful NASL clubs, featuring some of the greatest players of all time. The club finished runner-up in the 1980 Soccer Bowl. The club moved to Minnesota for the final NASL season in 1984. The Strikers returned in the American Soccer League (later American Professional Soccer League) from 1988-94, winning the ASL and National Soccer Championship in 1989. A third Strikers club played in the USISL (now known as USL) from 1994-97. STRIKERS HISTORIC LEADERS (NASL 1977-1983) GOAL LEADERS Player 1. Teofilo Cubillas 2. Ray Hudson 3. Gerd Müller 4.
