Ana Flavia joined my class six weeks ago and has been an asset ever since. She is hard-working, dedicated to her studies, has never missed a class, and always has a positive attitude. Her presence greatly enriches our classroom environment both academically and socially. When she returns to Brazil, she will be attending college in a city near her home. I will sincerely miss her when she leaves, but wish her the best of luck with her upcoming college experience! & Laura Blum Get connected April student of the month Khaled Ba Odhah is our April Student of the Month. Khaled was born in Yemen, but moved to Saudi Arabia with his family. I have had Khaled in my conversation class for a few months now and have been infected with his positive attitude and outlook on life. I have never seen Khaled in a bad mood. He is always smiling, happy, and making friends with everyone he meets. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family, being outdoors, and learning English. When Khaled arrived to LAL six months ago, he knew absolutely no English. I found this to be quite a shock, seeing as though he speaks so well in my conversation class. It is refreshing to see him working so hard in order to learn the best that he can. With three more months left at LAL, I know that he will continue to grow. Keep up the good work, Khaled! & Laura Blum Letter to Tyler We chose LAL Fort Lau derdale because we rec eived the recommendati of the son of our friend on s from Czech Republic. Page 5 LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 Recommendations from our students To a new student from an old one - in both senses of the word Since you are planning on becoming an English student In Fort Lauderdale, let me give you a piece of advice: There is not a better place than Fort Lauderdale to do so. The weather is spectacular and mostly sunny year round. The beaches are beautiful and endless, and you can go to them all. The people are friendly and look forward to getting to know you. Fort Lauderdale is called the Venice of America, not only for its canals, but also for the view from the water taxis of the villa-like mansions along the waterways. You have many places to choose from – from quiet and relaxing to loud and crazy. So come on – we’re waiting for you! - Haydee de Bajares Hello arriving students! I would like to give you some recommendations for your time while you’re at LAL. If you’re hungry, there are good restaurants nearby. Close to the school are Panera Bread and Smashburger, and at the city beach there is Hooters. If you are 21 and would like to have a drink and improve your English with new friends who are native speakers, I recommend the Blue Martini or the Aruba. There are quite a lot of places to Page 6 go to at night, but I definitely recommend the Hookah Club and the Hard Rock Café complex. If you want to experience American sport events, you really should go to a Miami Heat or Miami Dolphin game. I hope these recommendations will help you. Enjoy your time here at LAL Language School in Fort Lauderdale! - Philipp Magel How beautiful are the beaches in Fort Lauderdale? I have been living in Fort Lauderdale for more than a year, and I can say that I have fun at the beach with my family and friends in every season. Fortunately, almost every weekend I can enjoy the wonderful view of the ocean – the sunrise is the most beautiful that I have ever seen. I strongly recommend Fort Lauderdale and its beaches to my friends, my fellow students and everyone – the perfect place to have a good time. - Caroline Cordoni LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 My favorite restaurants in Fort Lauderdale I would like to recommend three great places for a delicious lunch, dinner and dessert. My first recommendation is the Cheesecake Factory for lunch or dinner. They have a wide variety of food, including dozens of different cheesecakes, for a reasonable price. The meals are quite big, so keep this in mind when you order. My absolute favorite for dinner is Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. I love the Chopped Salad and the delicious Filet Mignon. It is a bit pricey but worth it. Last but not least is the Cold Stone Creamery, which has the best ice cream I’ve ever had. Enjoy! - Tomas Hnetila The cultural scene The Broward Center for the Performing Arts has amazing shows! It’s located in downtown Fort Lauderdale near the Museum of Discovery and Science. With many different plays coming all the time, you shouldn’t miss the chance to see a Broadway musical. Also, students’ tickets are at a lower price, so it’s not going to be so expensive – and for the best seats in the theater. I went and loved it, and I’m going again. - Paula Graziele A Day of Sun and Fun in Fort Lauderdale It’s a sunny, funny day here in Fort Lauderdale. The birds sing and the squirrels run while you’re having a lot of fun. Your skin throws her whiteness away on this sunny, funny day. And when the sun goes down, you’ll have fun visiting “Miss Downtown.” Sounds and lights all around her can be found. But if you’re tired of her noise, you can always find another choice. Theater, cinemas, beaches at night— Here, all you desire you will find. Do you think it’s been a sunny, funny day? Hey remember -- you’re in Fort Lauderdale! & Helen Paggiarin Page 7 LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 The Ideal Friend What makes an ideal friend? Our students tell us what they look for in a good friend. My ideal friend is someone who is sensitive about my feelings. She’s a person who is supportive, and is able to listen to my opinions or problems without judgement. My ideal friend is someone who tells me what is on her mind. I’m not sure people have a lot of friends who have all these qualities. - Jacqueline Wagner My best friend is someone who is reliable, honest, sociable, tolerant and supportive. She is an intelligent and interesting person. We have the same kind of humor and similar interests. I like it when she gives me her opinions and advice. My best friend has helped me in good times and also in bad times. I can talk to her about everything and I trust her. I’m so happy to have found her! - Simona Machackova Page 8 The ideal friend is a person who is sociable, easygoing, supportive, sensitive and tolerant. But the most important quality is reliable, because it’s impossible to maintain a relationship without trust. My ideal friend is similar to someone that you can talk to about many things, because she is open minded so you can laugh about funny things but also you can talk about serious problems in the same way. We can’t expect that a friend be perfect, but certainly it is someone special. - Nathalia LL. Yilhena A good friend should be reliable. I think it’s the most important thing in a friendship. Another important quality is sense of humor. It’s always easier to speak with a person who has a good sense of humor. - Valentin Pillariaux LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 I like people who have a good sense of humor and who are funny. Also, I like people who are warm and sensitive. My ideal friends are people who share the same interests and who are easygoing and modest too. - Puri Costa The ideal friend is someone who is warm and sensitive. I want to discuss my problems with friends who are reliable. The most important quality about a friend is that I can trust them. I’d prefer someone who is similar and different from me. It’s great when you have something in common and it can also be good when a friend is very different because you can learn a lot of new things. - Miryam Giess An ideal friend should always be there for you. A person that is supportive and reliable. I’d prefer someone I can talk to easily. Also, someone with the same sense of humor. The most important thing of all is that I feel comfortable with this friend.- Diana Rudorf My best friend should be somebody I can trust one hundred percent, somebody confident and easygoing. I’d prefer someone I have fun with. On the other hand, I hate a temperamental person who has irregular moods because it makes me sad. - Erica G Lopes We can’t expect that a friend be perfect, but certainly it is someone special. Page 9 LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 Our Lucky Charms Students from Laura Blum's Upper-Intermediate class tell us about their lucky charms and what makes them special. Page 10 LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 I have a kind of lucky necklace. For Catholic people, it is a sign of protection, peace and love. This necklace means that you are protected from bad things and shows your devotion to the saint who is in the picture of the necklace. I bought it in a store in Brazil near the place I used to work, and I have had it for around eight years already. Of course bad things have happened to me since then, but when I pray or I’m really scared about something, I hold the necklace and ask for protection and calmness so I can get through the problem. It’s a very popular necklace in my country. - Fernanda S. Scilla, Brazil I was born in Slovakia, a country located in the heart of Europe. Most people there are devote Catholics and most families have miscellaneous symbols of the Catholic Church in their homes. I can remember when I was a child; I was often on vacation at my Grandma and Grandpa’s house. There were symbols of church in every room, like a Holy cross, a picture of the Pope or Holy Mary. Maybe that is the reason why I still have one little crystal angel with the holy cross in my car, hanging on the mirror. I still believe that this “lucky charm” will protect me on the roads because I have to drive a lot. Pavol Klobusicky, Slovakia A few years ago, I bought my dream ring, which meant a lot to me. It’s big, round, has a big black stone, and it’s made of silver. Wherever I go and whatever I do, I always carry it with me to give me luck. Sometimes funny things happen to me when I’m wearing it. Unlike the young people, the elderly stop me all the time to ask me where I got it and how much I paid for it. I think the ring, for me, is very special because it makes me feel more happy, beautiful, lively and when I forget to wear it, I feel like I’m naked! - Flavia Andrade Botelho Mesquita, Brazil People always ask me if I have a lucky charm. I never know how to answer them because I actually don’t have any. I don’t believe in objects that give you good energies, but if it works, I have objects that I carry almost all the time, such as some friends’ letters. It’s not because it will give me luck. It’s just because it reminds me that friendships, at least the real ones, last no matter what. I still have those friends, which means that my reminder worked. I can seem like a superficial person, but unlike most people think, I’m quite a deep person. - Massimo Baldini, Colombia I have two lucky charms. The first one is a ring that I got from my boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. Last year I forgot it in another city and for the days I wasn’t wearing it I felt like a part of me was missing. The second one is my rosary beads that belonged to my grandmother before she died. I love and miss her so much and I feel like the rosary protects me wherever I go since I always wear it. - Tabata Santiago, Brazil My cross is my lucky charm. I keep it as a necklace and wear it every day. The cross is made of dark wood and measures about one inch. I got it when I was travelling so that I could think about our actions. It brings me peace and a feeling of safety. - Ana Flavia Fernandes Ferreira, Brazil I like to believe that the rosary beads that my mother gave to me bring me safety, peace, wisdom to make the right choices and make me a better person. I think that for this lucky charm to really work, you need to believe with faith and with all your heart. - Leonardo Carvalho Mazzega, Brazil I don’t have a lucky charm, but I have a ring that my father gave to me. I keep it with me everywhere I go because it reminds me of my family. I didn’t bring that ring with me on this trip because I was afraid to lose it, but I really miss it! - Daisy dos Santos Gomes, Brazil My lucky charm is a gift from my sister. In 2011 she gave me a silver necklace with dog tags. On the dog tags it says, “Roque Et Rolle,” which means “Rock and Roll,” because my sister knows that I like rock and roll music. Since that moment, I always carry the necklace because it reminds me of my sister and my family, and when think of them, it brings me peace, calmness, and luck. - Juan David Riascos Sanchez, Colombia My lucky charm is a tooth from my race horse. When she was two years old, her teeth fell out and I put one on a gold plate and made a necklace out of it. - Hamel Holger, Germany In October of 2012 when I was beginning to study, my girlfriend gave me a small present. It was a cute frog which makes a fist and pushes his thumbs on top. In Germany it means “Good luck” or “Everything will be good; I’m thinking of you.” Since this time, I have had this little frog in my pencil case as my lucky charm for examinations at the University. - Steffen Muller, Germany My parents gave me a necklace for Christmas two years ago and said it was a lucky charm for me. It was so cute of them! The necklace is a silver medallion with the lettering, “1 bacio,” which is Italian for “One kiss.” The necklace gives me good luck all the time and my parents always think of me. It’s a sign of love and it protects me, too. Whenever I wear my charm I’m happy and I think of my parents. I’m sure I will wear it my whole life! - Vera Krueger, Germany Page 11 LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 Good Luck and Good Fortune Recently, the Jacksonville Conversation Class discussed the subject of luck, or good fortune. On March 17, many Americans celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The Irish symbols associated with this special day have become universal symbols of luck. These would include wearing green, four-leaf clovers, and elfin creatures called leprechauns. Part of our conversation involved discussion of the symbols of good luck and bad luck from the countries represented in our class. The following is a list of those symbols. • Fabio Baldini Fuentes, from Italy, mentioned spilling salt as being bad luck in Rome. Also, Friday the 17th is considered bad luck like Friday the 13th is in the USA. • Lindamir Pisani, from Brazil, said that eating lentils or grapes to begin the New Year brings good luck. • Hussam Mograbi, from Syria, told of coffee spilling over your cup as bringing good luck. He also said that if your left palm itches, you will be getting money but if your right palm itches, you will give money. Hussam mentioned that some Syrians carry a blue eye made of glass to ward off the evil eye. • Filip Nowak, from Poland, spoke about the four-leaf clover as bringing good fortune. • Elena Gromova, from Russia, said that breaking a plate brings good luck as well as throwing salt over one’s shoulder. & Jacksonville Conversation Class Page 12 LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 #lal_us Follow us on Instagram and tag your photos #lal_us Page 13 LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 Festivals & Celebrations Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated annually on the 17th of March. It is popular in the USA, Canada, and Australia. Recently, it has gained popularity in Europe and the Czech Republic. On March 17th, I will be in the Czech Republic and I will go to one of the lavish hotels in Prague. At the hotel's restaurant, you can enjoy Irish cuisine, especially Irish whiskey and beer. Certain foods and beer will be green. Petr Hurdik Saint Patrick's Day is observed by Irish people, people of Irish decent, and many other people around the world. It is a Catholic holiday and is significant because it marks the arrival of Christianity to Ireland. STEVEFE & Marcelo Lipiec Page 14 Spring Break In our town, we will have Spring Break from March 3rd to March 9th. When my children went to school, we went skiing in the mountains of the Alps in Italy or France. Our children are grown up and I work everyday for Spring Break but I will visit my daughter and grand daughter. My grand daughter is five years old. She will go to school next year. Then she will have Spring Break and we will go skiing in the mountains with her. & Lenka Hurikova Spring Break is a big party in Miami Beach. Many clubs participate in a music festival and many people visit the city. Many young people take a vacation from university and stay on the beach. I will get a hotel on the beach and stay with my friends. & Simon Hostettler Carnival in Brazil Carnival starts in Brazil 40 days before Easter. We have parties in the whole country. In big cities, we have a “big show” where people parade in the street with costumes and decorated big cars. There are competitions among many “schools of samba” to see who has the best songs and costumes. Carnival is a holiday that lasts five days, and people go to the street to dance and drink. People usually stay single to meet others looking for love! For kids, they have parties too. They wear costumes but in separated events. Carnival is also special for gays. We can say that the New Year actually starts after Carnival. & Juliane Martins, Carlos Henrique Silva, Paulo Oliveira, and Barbara Nack de Oliveira ZEAFONSO St. Patrick's Day LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 Oktoberfest called “Wiesn” “Nevruz Day” in Turkey The word “Nevruz” has a Persian origin and is a combination of the words “Nev” and “ruz”, meaning “New Day”. We celebrate the beginning of spring when the sun has gone. It’s a symbol of awakening and creation on March 21st. The Ottoman sultans paid special attention to “Nevruz Day”. Poems in the form of the “gazel” and “kasida”, called “Nevruztye” were given to them on that day. On “Nevruz Day” people bring food, play games, hold festivities and prepare big fires. We jump on the fires for luck or just for fun, of course, we follow safety rules. March 20th , the day before “Nevruz”, is the time for welcoming “Nevruz” in, and it’s devoted to it by making preparations like cleaning houses or preparing foods. Pastry with spinach, eggs and onion, thin pastry breads, “burma’ sweets and candy, roasted chick peas, and Turkish delights are among the dishes and foods served on “Nevruz Day”. Meanwhile relatives and neighbors start visiting each other. During the meal, people play musical instruments and sing folk songs. Swings are hung from trees and children fly kites. & Kenan Erol WIKIPEDIA Oktoberfest is a German festival that takes place in “Theresienwiese”, which is a public place in the center or Munich. It is every year from the end of September to the beginning of October. It is a big social event with lots of eating and drinking. It lasts 16 days ending on the first Sunday of October. If the first Sunday falls on the 1st or 2nd, the festival is extended until October 3rd, which is the “Day of German Unity”. This is the day when West Germany and East Germany joined as one country in 1990. Today “Wiesn” is the world’s largest fair, and it has become very famous and popular. About 6 million people visit it every year. Many people and tourists from all over the world come to Munich to go to Oktoberfest. Other cities have similar festivals, and also have foods similar to the ones people eat in Oktoberfest. & Martin Liebmann Page 15 LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 Movie Reviews Past and Present Laura Blum’s Upper-Intermediate Class Le Majordome The last movie I saw was “Le Majordome.” It takes place in the South of the United States in 1926. I loved this movie because it really happened. It’s the true story of a man who wanted to have a good future and a good job. The problem is that he is a black man, and in 1926, the United States was faced with segregation. It’s a really interesting movie since we can follow the character’s life from beginning to end. We can understand better how difficult it was to be black in 1926. Moreover, it is a very touching movie. We feel a lot of feelings such as happiness, sadness, and bravery. It’s also well played by the actors. At the end, the main character gets a very prestigious job, to be the United States President’s butler. This kind of movie shows that it is important to be ambitious so you can live your dreams. - Diana Goncalves, France The Lucky One The last movie I saw was about a sergeant, Logan Thibault, who found a photo in his camp in Iraq. He saw it glistening in the sun and when he walked over to pick it up, his friends were attacked and killed. Since he believed that the picture saved him, he kept it. It was a picture of a beautiful Page 16 blonde woman. When he returned to the U.S., he decided to look for the woman in the picture to tell her that her picture protected him. He figured out where she lived and travelled there. To get close, he started to work for her family business. He wanted to build her trust. After that, he decided to stay in her city and a romantic story started. He was afraid to tell her the truth about what happened because he really loved her and didn’t want her to think he was crazy or misleading. I thought it was an amazing movie and I highly recommend it. Talita Bertamoni Basso, Brazil Gladiator Gladiator is my all-time favorite movie starring Russell Crowe, Joaquin Pheonix and Connie Nielsen. It’s a BritishAmerican, epic, historical drama directed by, Ridley Scott and was released in 2000. The story involves a Roman general who is betrayed. His family was murdered by an emperor’s corrupt son. He comes to Rome as a gladiator to seek revenge. I really loved this movie and I think it’s a must see movie. - Fahad Saleh Alabdullatif, Saudi Arabia LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 12 Years A Slave The last movie I saw was two weeks ago and is named “12 Years a Slave.” It’s based on a true story about an African American musician in the United States during the 17th century. He was kidnapped and sold as a slave to a farmer and submitted to hard work and abuse on the plantation. It’s a very touching movie that makes you think about those people who still endure slavery in the present days. It won three Oscars this year, including best movie and best supporting actress for Lupita Nyong, who has dual citizenship (Mexican and Kenyan) and did a very good job performing. I really recommend it. - Maiana Dipp Simoes, Brazil The Untouchables One of my favorite movies is Untouchable. It’s a French movie about a man in a wheelchair who can’t move any part of his body. He needed a new male nurse and he wanted someone who was strong and doesn’t take care of his sickness. He decided to employ a black man who doesn’t really work and who hangs out on streets with friends. They both never thought that they would have the best time of their lives. The main actors are Francois Cluzet and Omar Sy. I really recommend this movie because it’s so funny. This is the best movie I’ve ever seen. - Mirjam Giess, Switzerland 300: Rise of an Empire If you saw the first 300 movie, you would love 300: Rise of an Empire. It was a great movie with new characters, like Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) and Artemisia (Eva Green). These characters really made the movie interesting. The story was great, designed and directed by Noam Murro. You’ll never get bored watching this movie, and in the end, you’ll want to see more. In brief, if you like action and epic movies, you must watch 300: Rise of an Empire. - Juan David Riascos Sanchez, Colombia The Wolf of Wall Street Directed and Produced by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Margot Robbie. The Wolf of Wall Street is an American comedy based on Jordan Belfort’s life. Leonardo DiCaprio is Jordan Belfort, a New York stockbroker who runs a firm that engages in security fraud on Wall Street in the nineties. This decade was the boom of frauds in the stock market. The brokers won easy money and spent this money on excesses like cars, mansions, sex, drugs, etc. the movie reminds me of another movie about Wall Street in the eighties called “Wall Street, The Money Never Sleeps.” The Wolf of Wall Street is an entertaining movie, real but with exaggerations. I think it is a movie for everybody because although you don’t know much about the stock market, you can enjoy the crazy life that the brokers had. The one failure is that it is very long, almost three hours, and if you are not passionate about this type of movie, it can be heavy. For me, it is very advisable to have a fun night in the cinema. - Alberto Peinado Garrido, Spain The Notebook Actors: Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, James Garner, Gena Rowlands. At the beginning of this movie, an old man was reading a story to an old woman who lost her memory more and more each day. The story he was reading was about two lovers who met at a carnival. Allie was a girl with a lot of money and Noah was a country boy. They spent the whole summer together and fell in love. The sad thing was that Allie was forced to move and go to college even though she would have rather stayed with Noah. A few years passed and Allie met another man and fell in love again, but after she saw a picture of Noah in the newspaper, she returns to see him. She then had to choose between the man she loved then and the man she loves now. This is one of my favorite movies. I like the way they filmed it both in the past and the future. It’s a really beautiful story with emotional scenes that interest you during the whole movie. I highly recommend this movie, especially to women because there are a lot of extremely sweet, exciting, sentimental and hot scenes. I’m pretty sure that this movie will make you cry. - Alma Jane Susvilla, Switzerland Serendipity Actors: Kate Beckinsale, John Cusack, John Corbett, Bridget Moynahan, Jeremy Piven, Molly Shannon. Director: Peter Chelsom Serendipity is one of the best movies that I have ever seen. While Christmas shopping in New York City, Jonathan met Sara and they fell in love. Beside the fact that they were both in a relationship, they decided to spend the evening together at Serendipity 3. After a series of tests to see if their relationship was destined to be, they lose each other. Several years later they are both engaged to their partners, but could not forget each other and the moments that they shared. They both decide to return to New York to find each other again. It was one of the best movies that I ever saw, with a lot of magic, sense of humor, fate change, and proves that love can change everything if you listen to your heart. I love the quote, “Can once in a lifetime happen twice?” - Galina Scherstitschenko, Germany Page 17 LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 Coffee Break Wordsearch Y T I C R H E G H I N S E S R N R U T O N G E S L F A G R S E K K T E E N C L S H M E A I J S E E R H O N A E E N A R G N I R I V S A S P M G A G L L L I H S O O B B K R S H G A P I E S O M U D M M R E C S D A E B C L S T E P H S B S H A M R O C K J O S B L F R D B D C P A R A D E J O I E E A E T S L S M M I S Y E S I J L O E O G I E R M M H U G S G O K A R O R E O T E T A E G N T N B G C I L Z R L M R R D O E B O A W A I N L E G I S D E D M O B R G P D R I Z S M D E B B I B K L U A N N C E I T A P T S C H E P S D A O U A P H A P O U O C J I E Z T R K C I R S R T A H P B E R P G G B L D I R S A E O L S D R E I D E E O D B O L Page 18 D A R A M S N K O G U A R G S O E L P I I L L L S N E B F Y G S I S G E I T R E R H G C N A I A T C E U I I R A B A O E O G L R K B L B C N P E T G E O D R A O G V S BEADS BLARNEY BROGUE CABBAGE CORNED BEEF DAYLIGHT SAVINGS DREIDEL GOLD GREEN IDES IRISH JIG KINGCAKE LAMB LEPRECHAUN LION MARCH MARDIGRAS MASKS MATZAH MOSES PARADES POT OF GOLD PURIM PURPLE RAINBOW SHAMROCK SHILLELAGH SPRING ST JOSEPH ST PATRICK What’s on LAL Fort Lauderdale StopPress | Spring 2014 uHighlightsu Everglades In February I went to the Everglades with the students from our school. It was very fun and amazing. We drove in the LAL bus to the Everglades and went on a boat tour on the special Everglades boat and the employee from the Everglades Park told us the story about the Everglades and the alligators. And then the special and very exciting moment we saw an alligator, a big one. It was very nice to see one there. After that everybody took a picture with the baby alligator who is only six months old, he was so-o-o-o cute. I loved him. What I know about Florida is that the Everglades is so exciting and amazing, but not only the Everglades; Key West, Kennedy Space Center, the beaches, and the sunrise and sunset are very romantic. One big praise to our teacher, Mister Michael. Thank you very much for the nice lessons. & Galina Sheistitschenko, Germany Orlando The World of Harry Potter at Orlando Adult Excursions Book your tours early; spaces are limited! 18 April Orlando (weekend) 19 April Orlando (weekend) 20 April Orlando (weekend) 21 April Orientation City Tour 23 April Everglades Airboat 26 April NASA 28 April Orientation City Tour YL Excursions 16 April 17 April 18 April 19 April 20 April 21 April 22 April 23 April 24 April 25 April 26 April 27 April 28 April 29 April 30 April Sawgrass Mills Mall Fort Lauderdale Cruise Beach Key Largo Palm Beach Beach Gumbo Limbo Mall Kayaking Beach NASA Miami Beach Planet Air Mall See reception for more details on all our LAL excursions and tours or login to LAL Advantage www.lalschools.com/en/LAL/lal-advantage Page 19 20 E O D B O L (G7, W) BEADS (G7, NW) BLARNEY (K8, N) BROGUE (R14, NW)CABBAGE (L16, N)CORNEDBEEF (C15, N)DAYLIGHTSAVINGS (B19, E) DREIDEL (T6, SW) GOLD (H3, E) GREEN (K13, N) IDES (E2, SW) IRISH (R4, SE) JIG (S19, NW) KINGCAKE (R8, NW) LAMB (C12, NE) LEPRECHAUN (J13, SE) LION (E12, NE) MARCH (Q6, S) MARDIGRAS (J4, S) MASKS (M11, NE) MATZAH (J4, W) MOSES (E10, E) PARADES (O12, SW) POTOFGOLD (N16, NW) PURIM (O14, NE) PURPLE (I16, NE) RAINBOW (B9, E) SHAMROCK (J6, W) SHILLELAGH (F4, W) SPRING (B8, E) STJOSEPH (Q14, W) STPATRICK E 19 S D R R I 18 B B 17 T A H P L T 16 Z D S N I I D A D E L L T G E O D R A O G V S R A B A O E O G S A E O L E E O E R S B P G G R L F I I T R E U S G E C N P S D A O U A P H A P O U O C U A N N C 14 L S 13 I S 12 T O 11 J L I E B L 8 E 7 B S M M E 10 N B G C 9 R S C T J O S L S A S V I 4 G N E K C Z I R E P R N R U I 2 H E G H C 1 T A B S I L C D E L S F E B L E F Answers S B B K R T A P B L P E O T F L E L I J C E N A R K B I S I A R H G E E E C H E E R A M S R G P D R I N L G R D O E E Z R L M R R M M H U G R D B D S H M E A T O N G E G H J T T C S G O K A R O R S O M U D M M R S I C N A B O A W A H S O O B A G R I R R K B N K O G U A R G S T A E G N T P M G A G N S R I I S D E D M O B P H S C I S M D E P A R A D E S D A E S Y I I B K S H A M R O C K 5 3 I E A E 6 H G A I E I Y G S 15 P Y L K K I L O I J I E O G R H O N A E I T J E S L E E E N C L L M N O P Q R S T Rear Window Key West Ultimate Adventure
