The Golden Point Award is Singapore’s premier creative writing competition for Short
Story and Poetry in the nation’s four official languages: English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil.
Established by the National Arts Council since 1993, the national literary writing competition
is a significant platform for literary excellence and launching new writers. The competition
aims to identify and nurture new creative writing talent, develop the literary penmanship of
writers in Singapore and to create a conducive environment for creative thinking and literary
expression in Singapore.
The award ceremony will be held in November in conjunction with the Singapore Writers
Festival 2015. Results will be announced during the festival.
CATEGORIES
The competition consists of the following two genre categories for all four languages:

There is no age limit and entries may be written on any subject and theme.
PRIZES
The following prizes will be awarded for each of the four languages in the two categories:

Up to three Honourable Mentions, with a cash prize of $500 each, can be awarded for each category.
*The enrichment grant is awarded to first prize winners to assist writers in furthering their skills through
participation in writing seminars, workshops and residencies in Singapore or overseas, or for publication
of a solo work.
WHO MAY PARTICIPATE
The competition is open only to writers who, at time of application, have yet to publish a
solo work in the specific genre they are competing in. A solo work refers to a full-length
work published by a Singapore or international publishing company, sold or distributed
commercially. Writers whose work have been published in journals or anthologies (whether
online or in print) are eligible to enter.

Anugerah Pena Emas NAC adalah sayembara menulis cerpen dan sajak yang ulung di Singapura.
Sayembara ini adalah dalam empat bahasa utama: Inggeris, Cina, Melayu dan Tamil. Sayembara
ini telah ditubuhkan oleh Majlis Seni Kebangsaan sejak 1993, merupakan peraduan menulis
kesusasteraan kebangsaan yang menyediakan platform yang penting bagi kemunculan bakatbakat penulis baru. Matlamat sayembara ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti dan menyuburkan bakat
penulis kreatif yang baru, membina gaya menulis kesusasteraan penulis-penulis di Singapura dan
mewujudkan suatu persekitaran bagi pemikiran yang kreatif dan ekspresi sastera di Singapura.
Majlis penyampaian hadiah akan diadakan pada bulan November bersempena dengan
Pesta Penulis Singapura 2015. Keputusan akan diumumkan semasa pesta tersebut.

HADIAH
Hadiah-hadiah yang berikut akan diberikan kepada setiap satu dalam empat bahasa dalam
kedua-dua kategori:

Sehingga tiga penyertaan ‘Karya Yang Wajar Disebut’ boleh diberikan bagi setiap kategori.
*Geran Pengayaan diberikan kepada pemenang-pemenang hadiah pertama untuk membantu penulis
melanjutkan kemahiran mereka melalui penyertaan dalam seminar, bengkel dan penginapan penulisan
sama ada di Singapura atau di luar negara dan untuk menerbitkan karya perseorangan.
SIAPA BOLEH MENYERTAI
Sayembara ini dibuka hanya kepada penulis karya perseorangan dalam genre tertentu yang masih
belum diterbitkan semasa mengambil bahagian. Karya solo atau perseorangan bermaksud hasil
karya yang sepenuhnya oleh penulis itu sendiri dan diterbitkan oleh syarikat penerbitan di Singapura
atau antarabangsa, dijual atau diedarkan secara komersial. Penulis yang karyanya diterbitkan dalam
bentuk jurnal atau antologi (sama ada dalam talian atau dicetak) layak untuk mengambil bahagian.

Important information and checklist for submission
All entries must be received by 30 June 2015, 5pm. The following documents must be enclosed with the registration form:
4 printed copies of the manuscript, a 100-word biography typewritten in English and registration fee.
Payment by cheque must be made payable to ‘Arts House Limited’. Please do not send cash by post. Cash payment
should be made in person at The Arts House Box Office, Mondays to Fridays between 10am to 8pm. Submitted
documents will not be returned. Late entries and entries with incomplete documents will be disqualified.
