The street is packed with long-time family-owned businesses, and some of the best restaurants in the city. The Milpas Community Association just competed in a national Neighborhood of the Year competition, and brought home a first place win! La Super Rica has been named one of the top 25 restaurants nationwide by Travel and Leisure Magazine. Los Agaves and Your Place regularly win Best of Santa Barbara in the Santa Barbara NewsPress and Independent. El Bajio was featured in Forbes. La Colmena won the Independent’s Foodie Award. And now The Habit has won Consumer Reports top honors as best-tasting fast food burger in the US. We know Milpas St is the best place to eat! Now it’s time to welcome everyone to see why! A Community With Heart The Taste of Milpas proceeds will benefit our community. Patrons will be able to direct where they would like donations to go from a variety of neighborhood organizations that work to improve our community. These include: Boys and Girls Club of Santa Barbara Police Activities League (PAL) and Explorers Program Casa De La Raza Don’s Riders and Don’s Net Café – Santa Barbara High School Franklin Elementary School PARC Foundation/ Santa Barbara Arts Alliance YoungBalance Outdoor Fitness Zone (NEW!) at Cabrillo Ballfield Alpha Thrift Adelante Charter School The Event: Event-goers purchase a wristband at one of three ticket booths. They can stroll up Milpas, stopping at each restaurant, where they will be treated to free samples of some of the finest cuisine in Santa Barbara. Live music stages along the street will create a lively, vibrant atmosphere. Pocket art galleries featuring work by local artists will be strewn along the route, providing Taste attendees with a chance to see great artwork. MTD shuttles will also help ferry attendees up and down Milpas. By the end of the event, attendees will have eaten dinner at every restaurant on Milpas St, and been treated to a vibrant outdoor arts experience. Event Pricing and Demographics. Advance tickets will be sold for $30 off the MCA website or Night Out, and will be sold the day of the event. Pricing the day of the event is $35 for adults, and $10 for children under 15. Based on last year’s attendance, we expect 750 attendees minimum plus additional pedestrian traffic for the first ever Eat Street Classic Car Show. The median age is 30-50, with disposable household income. Females are more likely to attend, with gender split predicted at 60-40. Milpas area hotel guests will also be able to purchase Taste of Milpas tickets for $30 at their hotel. Sponsorship Opportunities Platinum Sponsor - $1,000 At the platinum level, the sponsor receives on-air mention as platinum sponsor for the event in all radio and television spots. Inclusion of large corporate logo in all print ads for the event, and onsite thank you’s at the event by local politicians and event organizers. The platinum sponsor will also have their logo printed on the outside of the goody bag given to all attendees, and may include promotional items of their choice in the bag. They are also provided with a cabana at the Main Event Pavillion to promote their business. 15 wristbands for admission included. Gold Sponsor - $500 Sponsor receives on-air mention as gold sponsor for the event in 30 radio and television spots. Inclusion of medium sized corporate logo in all print ads for the event, and on-site thank you’s at the event by event organizers. Gold sponsors will also have their logo printed in medium sizing on the outside of the goody bag given to all attendees, and may include promotional items of their choice in the bag. They are also provided with a table at the Main Event Pavillion to promote their business. Optional choices are to be the main sponsor of one of the four music stages, and have a promotional table there. 8 wristbands for admission included. Silver Sponsor - $250 Inclusion of small sized corporate logo in all print ads for the event, and on-site thank you’s at the event by event organizers. Silver sponsors will also have their logo printed in small sizing on the outside of the goody bag given to all attendees, and may include a promotional item of their choice in the goody bag given to attendees. 5 wristbands for admission included.
