Laughing to Death | Rundown | Chicago LAUGHING TO DEATH THE LIGHTER SIDE OF ALMOST KILLING YOURSELF AT NEVER BEEN TO PARIS http://rundown.com/chi/3343-laughing-to-death Meet Your Newest Drink of Choice (Or 5… The Best Colorado Ski Resort You've Never… Blow Her Away at Chicago's 5 Classiest… AGONY IN SLOW MOTION The Secret to a Cooler Bedroom You, DeNiro, and Sin City's Most Opulent V… We've all done dumb things when drunk. But in the case of local comic Sean Flannery, these dumb things nearly cost him his life — a dozen times. Flannery recounts true tales of absent-minded idiocy at his one-man stand-up show Never Been to Paris, running Thursdays at Ontourage's Comedy Bar through March 8. In one story, Flannery (voted best stand-up comic in the 2010 Chicago Reader poll) recounts how he almost died when his car drove off a cliff in his native Cleveland. The funny part? He was wearing his “fake referee” jersey from his job at Lady Foot Locker, and was most concerned about dying in such a ridiculous outfit. Flannery peppers his 1-hour show recounting (literally) shocking job interviews and other near-misses with photo and audio evidence to ramp up the absurd hilarity. You'll walk out feeling comparatively competent and mature. Till the next round.
