SOUTH EAST ATLANTA
SEVENTH DAY
BAPTIST CHURCH
BELIEFS CONTINUED
VII. Concerning The Lord’s Supper
We believe that the Lord’s Supper commemorates the
suffering and sacrificial death of Christ. It was instituted
by Him for the church and is intended only for His
followers.
VIII. Concerning The Sabbath
We believe the seventh day of the week to be the sacred
Sabbath of Jehovah. We believe that it should be kept
holy in recognition of God’s will; in conformity with
both the example and the teachings of Christ; as a fitting
memorial of creation; and as a type of the saints’ rest in
the Heavenly Home.
More Than a Church,
We Are a Family!
IX. Concerning Evangelism
We believe that Jesus Christ commissions us to
proclaim the gospel, to make disciples, to baptize, and
to teach observance of his words throughout the world
and in all human relationships.
“For I know the thoughts that I
think toward you, saith the Lord,
thoughts of peace, and not of evil,
to give you an expected end.”

PASTOR’S WELCOME
HISTORY
The South East Atlanta group got started out of the need
for a Seventh Day Baptist (SDB) church on the southern
side of Atlanta. The closest SDB church to most of us at
Welcome! We are glad to have you
worshipping with us today. It is our
goal to communicate the wonderful
news of Jesus Christ. We are Bible
centered, and we believe in the power
of God’s Word to transform lives. We
value the practical application of His
Word to effect change in who we are
and what we do.
that time was the Metro Atlanta SDB Church in Hiram,
GA. Initially we would travel there for worship, but over
time the number of SDBs in southern Atlanta grew. With
in our homes in the year 2001. Through the help of the
South Atlantic SDB Association and The Missionary
Society we were provided with Pastoral Leadership. God
began His movement of relocation of individuals and the

news of our meeting spread rapidly through our churches.
The lack of visibility as a church led us to seek a church
building to rent for worship. God's favor was on us and we
were able to find a church for far less than the average
rental rate in Jonesboro, GA. As we continued to grow in
services at Daniel Drive Baptist Church in Stockbridge,
II. Concerning Christ
We believe that Christ possessed both a divine and a
human nature, and was therefore both the Son of man
and the Son of God.
III. Concerning The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who inspired the prophets
and the apostles, whose continual office is to lead
humanity into a knowledge of the mind of God.
IV. Concerning the Holy Scripture
We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New
Testaments are inspired by the Holy Spirit and that
rightly interpreted they provide a perfect rule of faith and
practice.
V. Concerning Sin and Salvation
We believe that man is by nature and by disobedience a
guilty sinner in need of salvation but unable to save
himself. In order to be saved he must be born again,
repenting and accepting by faith Christ’s sacrificial
atonement for sin.
GA. God has blessed us tremendously and, once again,
outgrew the space available to us. God led us to have a
place of worship of our own, which was realized in

I. Concerning God
We believe in one God, self-existent, infinite in wisdom,
power, justice, and goodness – the Creator and Governor
of all things.

I believe that God has placed a gift in
all of us. My desire is to help all
members recognize, nurture, and
strengthen those gifts, and then use
them in service to others. Please know
that you are invited and welcome to
participate in any program and/or
ministry of our church.
Peace to you,
BELIEFS
September 2011. We thank God for all He has been doing
in our life as a church, and we are anticipating the birth of
new ministries and the fellowship of new believers.
VI. Concerning Repentance, Faith, and Baptism
We believe in the baptism of believers only by
immersion symbolizing burial with Christ and
resurrection to newness of life and the washing away of
sins. This is a necessary qualification for church
membership.
VII. Concerning The Lord’s Supper
We believe that the Lord’s Supper commemorates the
suffering and sacrificial death of Christ. It was instituted
by Him for the church and is intended only for His
