PARIA CANYON BACKPACKING
Escape the everyday as you explore one of Backpacker Magazine’s December 2001
“Best Hikes”. While traveling through Paria Canyon’s Wire Pass you will squeeze through
slot canyons so thin that you just might have to take your pack off. You will travel through
Buckskin Gulch, the world’s longest slot canyon. And that’s only the first day! As the canyon
widens the walls reach up to 2000 feet high. With a short side hike up Wrather Canyon you
will have the chance to see the 246 foot Wrather Arch, the 4th largest natural arch in the
world and the longest of any outside of Utah. Explore old abandoned homesteads and try to
decipher the ancient petroglyphs. After the five day, 44 mile hike kick your boots off in the
cool grasses of Lonely Dell Ranch watered by the original natural irrigation system designed
in 1883. If the desert heat is too much, end your expedition with a dip in the chilly Colorado
River. This trip includes transportation, guides, group gear, camping fees and all camp meals.

YOSEMITE
BACKPACKING
“A good photograph is knowing where to stand.” From the summit of the famed Half Dome
you can’t go wrong. At 8836 ft. the view will surely take your breath away. Sleep amongst the
splendor of towering evergreens around Little Yosemite backpacker’s camp. The exhausting
hours it takes to climb the cables of Half Dome are well worth the effort. You’ll see outstanding
views of Vernal and Nevada Falls, Liberty Cap, and panoramic views of Yosemite Valley and
the High Sierra. This hike may be cancelled due to bad weather, in which case, an alternative
hike will be provided. On our Glen Aulin trip, explore the Grand Canyon of the Tuolomne, with
destinations such as California Falls, Le Conte Falls, and Waterwheel Falls. Take a dip or just
enjoy the beauty, Trips include transportation, knowledgeable guides, equipment, dinners, and
entrance/permit fees.

CAMPING
John Muir said, “Yosemite Park is a place of rest, a refuge from the roar and dust and weary,
nervous, wasting work of the lowlands, in which one gains the advantages of both solitude and
society...” In our words, get away from the everyday and play in Yosemite! You’ll be camping
in Yosemite Valley with endless opportunities for hiking and sight seeing. Depending on the
season, sights your group may choose to explore include beautiful waterfalls such as Vernal and
Nevada Falls, giant Sequoia groves, or Curry Village. This is one of our most popular outings!
Trip includes guides, transportation, equipment, entry fees and all meals.
