Our rainy season has started with delightful sun breaks in between deluges. Rain or clouds make a wonderful backdrop for colorful leaves. It is also the season for spider webs. Tumwater Falls Park on a foggy morning is an excellent place to photograph spider webs. I am pleased to announce that at the last general meeting, Colleen Easley was elected as our new vice-president. Thank you Colleen for continuing our tradition of dynamic leadership. Thanks also to our nominating committee of Gene Pardee, Frank Townsend and Wes Kirkpatrick for their diligence in finding a candidate. Tuesday October 22, 2013 is the Annual Scavenger Hunt Banquet. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to share our favorite images that we have taken over the past year or to share the images we have taken for the scavenger hunt list. This year the banquet will be held at River’s End Restaurant at the Tumwater Valley Golf Club. Please read Linda Foss’ directions for reservations later in the newsletter. Upcoming Events, p. 3 NPPNW Info, pp. 4-5 I hope to see you at some the club events this month. New Business: The club's Webmaster, Dave Simmerman, submitted a new contract proposal for 2014. (Dave manages the club's web site for a fee.) On September 15, Wes Kirpatrick, my wife Terri and I attended the 75th Annual Conference of the Photographic Society of America in Portland Maine. My first thought would be to tell you how incredible the state of Maine is and we only saw a little. There are so many bays, coves and villages one could spend weeks traveling and photographing.
