A torrent of voices flows forth
from this Reims sextet. In solos, duos, trios or all together,
they perform smooth and
free-flowing mini-symphonies that are both striking and
enveloping. Their first album,
“Birds and Drums” has just
been released by Jive Epic/
Sony.
Alone on stage, Alexandre
Longo, alias Cascadeur, seems
to hide behind his white helmet and his machines. His
minimalist yet dreamlike universe has won over the professionals (winner of the Inrocks
CQFD competition 2008),
and the public (Chantier des
Francofolies de la Rochelle in
2009). This pianist with his
strange toys has just released
his first EP, “Walker” on the
Universal label. An album is
planned for February 2011.
The Chase project was founded by multi-talented artist
Cyril Douay who has led a
rich and varied musical career
from cold-wave to electro, as
well as lyric-driven song. The
Chase is a resonant, catchy
and exotic voyage, guided by
the mischievous and sensual
voice of Sophie, like Betty
Boop in a world of rock and
electro. This multi-faceted,
fresh new group will release
its first album at the end of
February 2011 on the Pias Recordings France label. Packed
with potential hits, it’s a charming, surprising and explosive
mix.

BB Brunes sing rock Frenchstyle with brio. Since 2006,
the four boys in the band have
been notching up success after success with songs like
“Dis-Moi”, “La La Love You”
and “Nico Teen Love”, winning
a Victoire de la Musique in
2009. Their first EP in English
was released on 15 November 2010, the first step on
the path to an international
career.

November 2010 sees The Do
putting the final touches to
their new album. It comes
two years after the success
of “A Mouthful” which sold
150,000 copies in France and
rapidly brought them an international following that saw
them performing around the
world.
The Do recently announced
a series of dates for an upcoming French tour along with a
single available for download
from their website.
A mainstay of Charlie Winston’s band and front man of
the Medicine Show, Medi was
described by Tony Berg, producer of his first solo album,
as having “the enthusiasm of
a kid who is as reassuring as
a pro.” With «YOU GOT ME
(MOVING)», Medi has fulfilled a life-long dream and
the album, for release in January 2011, sounds like a
masterpiece.
In 2006, Ambroise, Christophe
and Jérémie formed Revolver, coining the term “Pop de
Chambre” [Chamber Pop] to
define their music. A perfect
blend of pop and baroque
– to which the Beatles and
Henry Purcell references bear
witness – has led these three
boys and their harmonious
voices to perform around
the world; in France, Europe
and the US. Their first album,
“Music for a While” was released in June 2009 and won
a Disque d’Or and two nominations at the French Victoires
de la Musique awards in 2010
(Best Newcomer Album and
Best Live Newcomer).
Founded by Jonathan Morali
(first ever winner of the first
edition of the Inrocks CQFD
competition), Syd Matters
have just released their 4th
album “Brotherocean,” a perfect blend of sweet and catchy pop-folk melodies, sophisticated arrangements and
electronic sounds. 4 albums
and an international tour
have made them a favorite of
