Fall 2016 Greetings Warrior Family, It is an honor to serve as principal at The Home of Everyday Greatness and I welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year. My hope is that everyone has had a relaxing and enjoyable summer with family and friends. Last school year, we had tremendous gains in student achievement in all four core content areas. Our students, faculty, and staff worked diligently together from the first day of school to the last day of school. I am proud of everyone’s accomplishments and commitment to Everyday Greatness. This summer, we welcomed the Class of 2020 and their parents/families to Kecoughtan High School through a four-day Summer Bridge transition program for students and a Coffee Talk with the administrative team and counseling team for their parents. We are also excited to welcome the Class of 2020 and any new students to KHS to attend Freshman/New Student Orientation Thursday, September 1st from 8:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Please check the HCS Transportation website at http://edulogweb.hampton.k12.va.us/edulog/webquery/ for bus routes. In addition to welcoming our newest Warriors, there are new additions to our faculty. These new Warrior team members bring a great deal of knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience to our staff. Kecoughtan not only has a history rooted deep in high academic standards and expectations, but also a commitment to extra curricular, cocurricular, and athletic opportunities for our students. As I begin my third year as principal at Kecoughtan High School, I am honored to be a part of such a rich legacy, continuing to provide an exceptional learning environment where “Everyday Greatness is the Expectation” for “every child, everyday, whatever it takes…” Again, I welcome you to a new school year and I ask for your continued support and partnership in making this a successful year for all students. Sincerely yours, Jeffrey T. Mordica Principal Freshman/New Student Orientation Orientation for rising freshmen and transfer students will be held Thursday, Sept 1st, from 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All freshmen will report to the cafeteria upon arrival to school.
