STONEGATE FELLOWSHIP
2011 Informational Brochure What Is STONEGATE FELLOWSHIP All About? LIFE IN COMMUNITY We believe you were not created to live and do life alone. Community is a place where people walk together through the events of life. It is a place where everyday life can be celebrated, where setbacks are normal and failures are expected, and where changed lives are the common result. LIFE OF GROWTH We have discovered that spiritual growth doesn’t happen by accident. It is intentional and you can see the results. We are committed to helping you grow as a follower of Christ by providing steps for you to take, one at a time. LIFE OF INFLUENCE We are convinced that the calling of every Christ follower is to live a life of influence. One that is lived out to draw others to Christ. We are committed to helping you live that life each and every day. We want you to get connected in a group! ADU LTS AT STONEGATE AT STONEGATE WE HAVE SEVERAL TYPES OF GROUPS. SOME GROUPS FOCUS ON PROVIDING AN ONGOING PLACE FOR COMMUNITY, FOR BUILDING GODLY RELATIONSHIPS AND FOR LIVING OUT THE FACT THAT GOD HAS CALLED US TO SERVE ONE ANOTHER We call these groups COM groups. They are a great place to meet people and build friendships in a relaxed, smaller setting. Another type of group at Stonegate, called Growth groups, is designed to help you pursue intentional personal spiritual growth. These groups are generally short-term classes that focus on a specific area of growth in a Christ follower’s life. LifeWorks groups are those groups that are based on specific life situations or circumstances that the participants have in common. As a community of Christ followers, we strive to help others find peace with God, love for one another, purpose in living and joy in life. HEALTH / FITNESS / SPORTS GROUPS COM GROUPS These are home based groups meeting twice a month for each semester. With the variety of groups offered, comes the ability to choose based on where you live, if you’re married or single, how old your kids are, which curriculum you’d like to study, which service based focus you’d like to be a part of, and which day of the week is best for you to meet. COM groups are a safe place to meet new people, make friends, grow in faith and have fun. GROWTH GROUPS These curriculum based groups meet on a weekly basis each semester on campus in a classroom setting. There is a wide variety of studies offered, and the days of the week vary as well. Childcare is available on campus during these classes. LIFEWORKS GROUPS These groups take specific life situations and help us apply biblical principles to them. On campus classes and support groups meet weekly each semester for those impacted by divorce, blended family relationships, marriage issues, financial struggles, same sex attraction, substance abuse, pornography, and support for the spouses of men struggling with sexual issues. Childcare is provided by Stonegate’s Solid Rock Childcare department. It is our goal to promote a healthy lifestyle for members of our community, so we offer ways for men and women to keep their bodies fit and strong. We have an abundance of weekly ladies-only fitness classes, both evening and daytime. We offer men’s fitness classes as well as men’s and co-ed seasonal sports teams to join! The fees are very reasonable and the instructors promote Christian fellowship in class! We teach about God in a way that is easy to understand and promotes a life that loves God and loves others. Our goal is that, through your participation in the Next Steps process, you will experience a greater commitment to the vision for our church as you deepen your walk with Christ and actively serve in an area of ministry that is consistent with your God-given design. Please join us for our Next Steps series of classes offered on Sundays. Watch the bulletin, SGN or check our website for times. BAPTISM We believe that baptism is an outward expression of a person’s inward commitment to become a follower of Christ. At Stonegate, we are confident that baptism by immersion or “dunking” best represents and accomplishes the meaning of baptism as show in Romans 6:3-5. Children ages 7 and up who have made a public profession of faith in Christ are also welcome to be baptized. Everyone must first attend an age appropriate baptism class before their baptism during our Elements Service. Please see our website for registration information. FOUR SERVICES 9.00am 11:00am 5:00pm 7:00pm WORSHIP Our worship, as Christ-Followers , is to offer every part of our lives to God. When we gather Stonegate is a place where people from the Permian Basin can learn about and experience a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ. As a community of Christ followers, we strive to help others find peace with God, love for one another, purpose in living and joy in life. together, our times of worship are really times of celebration of the life of worship we lead every day. At Stonegate Fellowship, we celebrate together every weekend with great music, authentic praise and enhanced audio, video and lighting. Please plan to join us this weekend in one of our four identical services. As you worship at one service, plan to serve within the church at the other.
