For Austrian companies the opportunity of exhibiting in Brno is important due to the fact that a large number of their potential business partners are concentrated there in one place at one time. The Czech Republic is the fifth most important business partner of Austria and the Czech food market offers opportunities for further development.” Ing. Vojtěch Halamíček, Marketing Director, Kostelecké uzeniny a.s.: “When deciding whether to take part and how we had many goals and expectations and the trade fair has fully met them all. During the fair our stand was virtually full to the brim with visitors; we had many promising meetings and presentations. Last, but not the least, we had the ambition to win the Golden Salima competition, which was also a dream come true with our product Hermín.” Demetra Chrysostomou, Presentation Director, Suricom Consultants: “The official presentation of Cyprus took place for the first time this year. The companies see their participation in a positive way: they were approached by the right professional visitors – real professional, they made a satisfactory number of contracts and they will be happy to come to the next Salima in 2012.” Alena Dalecká, Head of Managing Director’s Office, NATURA a.s. “We see this trade fair as a combination of business and social event visited by purchasing agents from supermarket chains as well as owners of trade corporations. The visitors can learn about new products or entire pro- duct ranges. We were approached by professionals from various catering facilities as well as end users, all expressing their genuine interest in our products and asking questions.” Dr. Ing. Emerich Vacek, Marketing Department, Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic: “This year’s International Food Fairs SALIMA, despite the challenging economic conditions, confirmed the importance of trade fairs as a necessary marketing tool in relation to trade experts as well as the professional public. Trade fairs are still crucial for making or enhancing business contacts, and they are also a place for meeting partners from the business sphere and representatives of trade unions and organisations. For companies, trade fairs offer the opportunity of better analysing of the situation on the market and comparing the company strategy with the strategy of the competitors. In the past few years there is a great emphasis on the maximum effect of the presentation with reasonable costs and ultimate efficiency of all the marketing activities. We highly appreciate the willingness and professional attitude of the trade fair preparatory team as well as the service provided by Trade Fairs Brno.” Marek Soph, Agricultural Assistant of the Dutch Embassy, the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature, and Food Quality: “Our appreciation of the Dutch presentation at SALIMA 2010 is generally positive. The representatives of thirteen companies taking part in a joint exhibition stand at the “Dutch Hall” were all very satisfied with the technical, organisational, operational, and social aspects of the event provided by the organising body – the Trade Fairs Brno. They were also happy with the visitor numbers and structure as well as with the genuine interest of professionals, business people, and lay visitors in the exhibited commodities. The potential of our participation in SALIMA 2010 for the future development of business activities will be realistically evaluated after some time according to the feedback and the actual performance of the contracts made at SALIMA. At a time of persisting economic recession or actually crisis our primary expectations were not very optimistic, but our immediate impression after the fair’s end was almost euphoric and wiped off all of our worries. The exhibition stand was a special thing in itself – open, airy, modern, stylish, and representative at the same time – designed and built entirely by the Trade Fairs Brno design and construction team – and undoubtedly was a great contribution to the excellent atmosphere during the entire fair as well as the overall pleasant impression from our participation.” Ricky Goh, Pottery-Mart, Singapore: „For the second time in a run, Singapore was officially represented with a National Pavilion as a leading Asian country at the show from 2–5 March 2010 and thus was a highlight of the event at Hall C. It thus gotten quite a good coverage in some media, achieved by our undersigned marketing campaign through a close working relation with the show main organizer BVV Veletrhy Brno. Thus it was noteworthy of the scope of support gotten for the SMa led delegation of 7 companies this time compared to 6 in 2008 with 2 repeat exhibitors from the previous show. Also among the 2010 participants, 2 of the biggest food companies from Singapore, giving the show added endorsement.“ www.bvv.cz/salima MBK – 5TH INTERNATIONAL MILLING INDUSTRY, BAKERY, AND CONFECTIONERY FAIR Number of exhibiting companies 81 Participating countries 5* Rented exhibition space in sqm 3 322 *CZECH REPUBLIC, ITALY, POLAND, SLOVAKIA, GERMANY HIGHLIGHTS OF SUPPORTING PROGRAMME Baking Centre at the P Hall hosted the competitions Czech Baker of the Year 2010 – Junior, and The Most Attractive Product in the Bakery and Confectionery category. When it comes to wine, the direct contact with the client and the wine maker is indispensable for both parties: wine lovers have a unique opportunity of learning; both in global and local terms, about the wine assortment, and the wine maker can get their feedback. All this makes VINEX an ideal meeting platform with relaxed and informal atmosphere without all sorts of limitations. The focus on the visitors’ enjoyment and good impression of attractive setting is the right direction where we would like the trade fair to go in the future.” Ing. Pavel Vajčner, Company Director, Znovín Znojmo a.s.: “We are regular participants in VINEX, since the first year we never skipped. ECHOS Jiří Jarolímek, Trade and Marketing Specialist of Macron Systems, spol. s r. o.: “This year’s EMBAX was successful for us. After the break-up of the fair there is the packaging sector, which is represented by our main clients. The clientele here was different than at the previous fairs, there were fewer visitors, but on the other hand the business and contracts we made seem much more promising. We were worried about the general outlook of this year’s fair, but in fact we were pleasantly surprised. We met some new potential clients therefore from this point of view the presentation was a success for us.” Jan Gottfried, Secretary of the Institute of Economics and Management Systems at the Mining and Geological Faculty of VŠB-Technical University Ostrava (International RFID Lab): “We are very satisfied with our participation in EMBAX fair, our presentation had a great feedback. There were people from companies such as Nestlé, Kraft, dairy corporations, packaging experts and others who were interested in co-operation possibilities with our laboratory. We talked to many people who were, at least, interested in the RFID topic. For the promotion and popularisation of the technology this was really great, especially with the Packaging Live project, which gave us the opportunity to practically demonstrate the advantages of RFID.” Jan Korčák, Managing and Marketing Manager, JIP – Papírny Větřní, a.s.: “The combination of EMBAX and SALIMA was a good idea. It does have its logic and EMBAX has a new esprit now. There are new people coming in from the sphere of our potential customers and we can also promptly make contact with the other exhibitors. We invited our business partners to our stand – companies from the Czech Republic as well as from England, Italy, Germany, and France – these are the most important markets for us. We also managed to make a good number of new contacts from the food industry, mainly processing companies. In comparison to the previous EMBAX fair there were much more visitors therefore we are satisfied.” Pavel Ondrášek, MBA, ONDRÁŠEK INK - JET SYSTEM: „My assessment of our participation in the fair is a positive one. Our company was very satisfied cooperating with Trade Fairs Brno. Thanks to our participation in the Packaging Live project we had the opportunity to enhance our co-operation with our business partners. I would also like to express my thanks specifically to the exhibition stand construction team, who were very helpful and quick in satisfying our demands.“ www.bvv.cz/salima Veletrhy Brno, a. s. | Výstaviště 1, 647 00 Brno PROJECT DIRECTOR Věra Menšíková phone: +420 541 152 806 fax: +420 541 153 067 e-mail: salima@bvv.cz PROJECT MANAGER EMBAX Pavel Dvořák phone: +420 541 152 923 fax: +420 541 153 068 e-mail: pdvorak@bvv.cz PROJECT MANAGER SALIMA Drahomíra Hochmanová phone: +420 541 152 948 fax: +420 541 153 067 e-mail: dhochmanova@bvv.cz PROJECT MANAGER SALIMA, MBK, VINEX Dušan Pelikán phone: +420 541 152 745 fax: +420 541 153 067 e-mail: dpelikan@bvv.cz PROJECT MANAGER SALIMA, INTECO Hana Vildomcová phone: +420 541 152 894 fax: +420 541 153 067 e-mail: hvildomcova@bvv.cz PUBLIC RELATIONS AND ADVERTISING Markéta Kamenická tel.: +420 541 152 568 fax: +420 541 153 066 e-mail: mkamenicka@bvv.cz THE NEXT YEAR OF THE INTERNATIONAL FAIRS SALIMA, MBK, INTECO, VINEX, EMBAX WILL TAKE PLACE BETWEEN FEBRUARY 28 - MARCH 2, 2012. www.bvv.cz/salima
