Dear Parade Participant: ALL ABOARD! THE 39th ANNUAL JAMES J. HILL DAYS TRAIN IS ROLLING INTO TOWN! We are pleased to have you as part of the 39th Annual James J. Hill Days Parade on Sunday, September 8th beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Parade Central Check-in table will be located at the entrance of the Wells Fargo Lower Level parking lot: on Superior Ave/Rice Street. A map showing the area is enclosed. PLEASE PLAN TO HAVE SOMEONE CHECK-IN YOUR GROUP AT 11:30 A.M. TO LOCATE YOUR STAGING AREA. The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. SHARP! THIS YEAR’S PARADE ROUTE HAS COMPLETELY CHANGED The parade will START at the Lake Street/Superior Avenue Intersection. The parade will travel WEST on Lake Street, take a right onto Barry Avenue and head North, floats will disband in 1 of 3 parking lots: either the Wayzata Plastic Surgery Ramp, Wayzata West Middle School Parking Lot, or Metro Transit Parking Lot. Staging Map, tentative parade line-up, and a full schedule of activities are included in this packet. When you arrive to check in you will also receive your FINAL parade number. NOTE: Your number may change due to last minute adjustments. Volunteer parade coordinators will be available to assist you. If you choose to hand out items, you must have volunteers walk along the curb and hand them out. Nothing may be thrown! Also, you may not hand out stickers. Please do not delay the parade. Keep up with the unit in front of you. Parking: We urge participants to utilize the side street parking or the Carisch Parking Ramp or Mill Street parking lot (near the Wayzata Bar & Grill). If you have multiple volunteers, we encourage you to carpool! There will be no refunds of entry fees due to adverse weather conditions.
