RESOLUTION NO. 13-3830-R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BARTOW, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A TENTATIVE GENERAL MILLAGE RATE FOR THE 2013 TAX YEAR, DECLARING THE PERCENT BY WHICH SAID MILLAGE RATE IS LESS THAN THE ROLLED-BACK RATE; CHARACTERIZING SAID PERCENT AS THE PERCENTAGE REDUCTION IN PROPERTY TAXES; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Bartow, Florida (“the Commission”), has convened a public hearing on this date pursuant to Sec. 200.65(2)(c) and (e), Florida Statutes; and WHEREAS, the Commission has received comments, questions, requests and/or complaints, if any, from the general public regarding the proposed millage rate for tax year 2013 and tentative budget for fiscal year 2014; and, WHEREAS, the Commission has amended the tentative budget as it has deemed appropriate; and, WHEREAS, the Commission has recomputed, as necessary, the millage rate required to support said amended tentative budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BARTOW, FLORIDA, as follows: SECTION I A tentative general millage rate of 3.9962 mills is hereby adopted for levy upon all taxable property within the City of Bartow, Florida, for the 2013 tax year. SECTION II Said millage rate is one-half percent (.50%) less than the rolled-back rate computed pursuant to Sec. 200.065(1), Florida Statutes. Resolution No. 13-3830-R Page 2 SECTION III Said percent represents a one-half percent (.50%) reduction in property taxes tentatively adopted by the Commission.
