Sullivan Verses that Guided Gladys Aylward 1. Read Exodus 3:7-‐12. Using the space below, use words or pictures to describe what you read. 2. Read what Gladys said about Moses. “Here was a man who did something out of nothing. What courage he had to set out with a crowd of people who had already shown themselves decidedly difFicult! What faith he must have had to obey God and defy all of the might of Egypt and the despotism of Pharaoh. But Moses had to make a move; he had to leave his quiet life.” –Gladys Aylward, The Little Woman 3. Application: Exodus 3:11 states, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?” Moses did not feel qualiFied to lead God’s people out of Egypt. Much like Moses, Gladys didn’t feel qualiFied to travel to China and tell people about God. In pictures or words, describe a time when you didn’t feel as if you had the strength or the skills to do something difFicult, but you did it anyway. Find all the different modes of transportation Gladys used while traveling to China. Draw a picture of each form of transportation. Challenge Activity: Grab a blank sheet of paper and a world map. Draw a map. and plot some of the places Gladys traveled through on her trip to China. Add the surrounding bodies of water.
