The Training 4 TEFL Weekend TEFL Taster Course
The TEFL Taster Weekend is a two day TESOL
(Teaching English to Speakers of Other
Languages) course that provides trainees with
a detailed introduction to teaching English as a
foreign language. As well as learning about
what we teach and how we teach it, you will
have an opportunity to plan and teach your
own lesson of English as a foreign language.
Quick overview of the course
 The course runs from 10am to 5:30pm on
the Saturday and from 9am to 5:30pm on
the Sunday
 8 input sessions provide you with the
knowledge and skills necessary to plan
and teach a lesson of English as a foreign
language
 An opportunity to teach a lesson of English
and receive feedback from a sensitive and
experienced teacher trainer
 Loop input methodology (practising what
we preach) is used to provide engaging
training and practical know-how
 Benefit from excellent resources at the
school, including wi-fi internet access,
interactive whiteboard technology, use of
printing and photocopying facilities

Our Training Methodology

teacher training courses at Training 4 TEFL. We

steps in your new career as a teacher.
Finding Work as an English Teacher
During the last session on the course, your course
tutors will provide you with key resources and
tips on finding work as an English teacher. You’ll
learn about which websites and schools to trust
(and which not to trust), what the conditions and
lifestyle is like in different parts of the world, and
even receive some tips for job interviews.
Location and Facilities
The TEFL Taster Weekend Course takes place at the
British Council accredited Rose of York Language
School, on Hallam Street, just 5 minutes’ walk from
Oxford Circus tube station.
The school has 12 classrooms, a library with a quiet
study area and an internet café. Trainees study in a
purpose-built
classroom
with
a
SmartboardTM
interactive whiteboard and free access to our wireless
network. You’ll have access to computers, printing
and photocopying facilities and our extensive
selection of English language teaching books and
resources (over 2000 titles). We have learnt from
experience that the learning environment is a
critically important part of all successful learning and
we’re sure you’ll find our school a great place to start
your new career as an English teacher!
