Favorite thing about your job: My co-workers are the favorite thing about my job. They are my friends and
colleagues both inside and outside work. There is a very strong Young Professional group at Anders and I am
proud to be a part of it. We do a really good job functioning as a team and have a lot of fun while working.
Favorite thing about your time in BAP: The friendships with my fellow students, as well as with professionals were my favorite experiences during my time in Beta Alpha Psi. The opportunities to speak on a large
scale in California and New York allowed me to make friendships not only at SEMO’s Beta Alpha Psi, but with
others across the United States.
Something people don’t know about you: I really enjoy playing different types of card games. Growing
up, my grandpa taught me to play Black Jack by the age of 5. I could add to 21 faster than any kid my age.
Every family function we played some sort of card game.

Chapter dedication with Thomas K. McCain
Mu Xi Chapter Named after Alumnus
Kenneth W. Dobbins, president of Southeast Missouri State University, announced that alumnus Thomas K. McCain has established a $250,000 endowment for the Mu Xi Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, thus providing long-term
funding for the Southeast College of Business student organization. The
chapter was renamed the Thomas K. McCain Mu Xi Chapter of Beta Alpha
Psi, the first time in the history of the international organization that a chapter
has been named for an individual.
We are profoundly grateful for this substantial gift that will provide funding for
additional professional education and experiential learning opportunities that
are critical to the development, training and success of Southeast business
students who belong to BAP.
“Mr. McCain’s gift will have a lasting impact and his legacy will be one of
providing extraordinary educational access and opportunity for many, many
College of Business students now and in the future,” Dobbins said. “On behalf
of all of Southeast’s current and future students, I would like to express our
deepest appreciation for this generous endowment that will change countless
lives in this region for many years to come.”
McCain is a 1970 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a major in accounting. While a student at Southeast, he was a member of Alpha Kappa
Psi, a business service fraternity. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University.
He has spent his career working with various companies in the areas of finance, accounting, treasury and tax, including Dry Ice, Inc., Specialty Catalogue, Paul Harris Stores, Inc., and Edison Brothers Stores, Inc. He is currently the chief financial officer, vice president, secretary, and treasurer of
SmartPak Equine, the premier online provider of horse supplies and equine
