the Netherlands. Currently, 60% of all the
cuttings sold by our sister company in
Holland are produced in Uganda.
2. Chrysanthemum mother stock: Van
Zanten Ltd transfered all its mother
stock to Uganda. This transfer uses
specialised technology. It is expected
that Royal Van Zanten will now be in
position to control the quality of its
mother stock as well as expand its
income source by adding on a new
product line.
Quality and Standards
MPS GAP certified.
Future Plans
To open a second location in Uganda at
Nsangi to expand its propagation operations
of chrysanthemum cuttings and other
products. This will replace the propagation
operations in Kenya. The main purpose of
the expansion of operations in Uganda is to
optimise and assure the quality of cutting
material. The highly favourable climate
conditions in Uganda make it possible to
grow cuttings of excellent and consistent
quality all year round. The new location
allows Van Zanten Cuttings to further expand
the production of a number of successful
cultivars.
