She is a graduate of Ohio Dominican University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She holds a certificate in teaching (1-8) and a principal’s certificate from the State of Ohio. She has been at New Hope Christian Academy for 10 years, teaching mostly science, math and Bible. Her passion is science education and she is excited to be a part of NHCA’s L-STEAM program. She resides in Circleville with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys singing in the choir at Heritage Nazarene where she attends church. She is ready to serve New Hope Christian Academy and its families as we make a difference for Christ in Pickaway County. DIRECTOR OF BIBLICAL STUDIES | Pastor Sponseller Pastor Brian Sponseller was born and raised in the Canton, Ohio area. Raised in a conservative Methodist church with a Holiness camp meeting background, he surrendered his life to Christ at 10 years old and felt the call to full-time ministry at 12. He is an alum of North Canton Hoover High School class of 1994, then moved on to college for two semesters at Malone University. Taking a 3 year break from school to reevaluate my direction, he continued to serve Christ and His church through teaching Sunday School, assisting with VBS, and serving as a camp counselor at Sebring Holiness Camp Meeting. He returned to college after marrying his wife of 17 years, Garilyn, and graduated from Ohio Christian University in 2002 with a B. A. in Religion. He and his wife then packed up their life and headed to Jackson, Mississippi where he earned his M. Div. in Pastoral Studies in May of 2006. Since that time, he has been a substitute teacher in all four districts in Pickaway County (a 5th/6th grade teacher at New Beginnings Christian School and the Waverly Campus Pastor of Heritage Nazarene Church). He and Garilyn are excited to have a more active role in New Hope Christian Academy especially since 3 of 4 children will be attending NHCA in the fall. INTERVENTION SPECIALIST | Ms. Snyder Tina Snyder has been in the education field for 28 years. Her background has varied over the years from early childhood education (17 years) to working with students with mild to moderate special needs (11 years). I am recently widowed after 21 years of marriage and I have three beautiful boys; Grant age 21, Noah age 18, and Zachery age 13. We all love soccer and college football. I am very active in my church as the children’s director, Sunday school teacher, singing, and VBS director. I am extremely excited about joining the staff of New Hope and working with them to create positive learning experiences for the students this year. Please welcome and pray for our new leaders HEAD OF SCHOOL’S CORNER Dear Parents/Grandparents/Guardians, First and foremost, welcome back to school for the 2015-2016 school year. New Hope Christian Academy, your school, is beginning its 22nd year and will celebrate the school’s birthday August 31, 2015. It was great to see each and everyone of you at Meet the Teacher Night. If you were not able to join us for the opening event of the school year, that is OK. Mrs. Baumgardner and I, along with 31 other faculty and staff want to welcome you! We are off to a great start and look forward to partnering with you in the education of your children by building principled student leaders and STATESMEN. Mrs. Bryant, our Art teacher is introducing ARTSONIA. This program will allow students to upload their own artwork and provide you and your friends and relatives an opportunity to purchase things such as coffee cups, writing stationery, mouse pads, etc...online. This is a great new feature from our Art department. School Board Nominees: There are two people that have shown interest in becoming a member of the 2015-2016 School Board. To vote for one of the campaigning nominees please go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2XKGLYY. Their bios were provided in the final summer email I sent a couple of weeks ago. The nominees are Dr. Julie Heidish and Mrs. Jennifer Caplinger. The faculty and staff are here to love, educate, guide, and challenge each of your children. Each of us is very passionate about what we do. Let’s work together to make this the best year ever at New Hope Christian Academy. Are you “ALL-IN?” His Servant Leader, Dr. Frank L.
