Founded by the American Classical League at Georgetown University in 1976, the National Latin exam is given all over North America, as well as in countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. On March 14, twenty one of Ms. Glatter's students participated in this exam testing their knowledge of Latin grammar, comprehension, mythology, literature, history, geography, and Roman life. In past years students have garnered ribbons and certificates for their results on the Introduction to Latin and Latin I exams; this year they are hoping to win a silver or gold medal! Buy Now Show Me the Way: PBA's newest spirituals recording Buy Now The Grammy awardwinning Pacific Boychoir Academy presents The Sound of Vienna, a concert of choral music from the Classical era, sung with the unique and rich sound of men and boys, accompanied by orchestra. Works typically performed by the likes of the Vienna Philharmonic and Vienna Boys Choir will be presented in rare form, here in the United States. Haydn's Missa Sancti Bernardi von Offida (Heiligmesse) and Mozart's Te Deum will be sung in their entirety. Also enjoy Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, and Schubert's Ständchen for alto solo and fourpart men's voices. Fresh from the January 31 collaboration at the Fox Theater, The Magik*Magik Orchestra joins PBA to show off their classical training. Pianist Miles Graber accompanies the choir for some Beethoven, Schubert, and Strauß. Tickets are now available online! Buy Now UnderCover is a quarterly project that selects an influential album to be reinterpreted by an eclectic mix of local musicians, with each song arranged by different composers using a variety of instrumentations. Paul Simon's Graceland will be the 9th showcase from this collaborative series, will include John Vanderslice and Diana Gameros, and will feature guest conductor Robert Shelton.
