Watching the children receive their First Holy Communion on Saturday was such a blessed event. Thank you to everyone who made this important event so special. This is not just a one day celebration it is lifelong commitment to our faith in Christ. During the Month of May, a month both named for and dedicated to Mary, Catholics have long honored her by placing a crown on her image. The tradition in the United States and many other countries has been for school children to have a "May Crowning" ceremony, with a procession and a wreath of fresh flowers that one child gets to place on the statue. Today, Jewel Gamsby crowned our Holy Mother Mary. The students who received their First Communion celebrated and wore their First Communion dresses and outfits. It was a very special event. 2 Shamrock Newsletter Tomorrow night our students grade K – 8 will be competing in the Twilight Track Meet at Justin Siena. Any student participating will be released from class at 2:55pm. Go Shamrocks!!! Tomorrow many of us are headed to the Los Angeles area for the State Decathlon. Today we celebrated our Decathlon team and their coaches. What an incredible honor to accompany these bright young men and women to such a prestigious event. We are all so proud of you!!!
