CourseObjectives
• Toexpandandexplorethedefinitionofdrawingincludinganobservationalrecordtoatime-based,
conceptualtranscriptionofideas.
• Toemploythemesinfilm,literatureandartasalaunchingpadformakingcreativework.
• Toinvestigatecolordrawingmedia:surfacesandmediafordrawing;forskilldevelopmentandto
question ‘why’materialchoicesaremadeandanalyzetheaffectthesematerialshaveandto
seamlesslymergeform andcontent.
• Toexploredrawingasautonomouspractice,asavehicleforfullyrealizedartistprojectsanddeveloped
bodiesoffinisheddrawings.
• Tohonecritical-thinkingandverbalizationskillsthroughclasscritiqueofstudioworkanddiscussionof

StudioUse
The studio is for your use outside of class time. You will be given the combination to the studio, it is for
YOURuseonly. Studentsareexpectedtofollowstudioguidelinesatalltimes.Theclosesttelephoneison
thesecondfloor/SEcorner. Thereisafirstaidkitineachroomaswellasasharpcontainerforyouruse.

Thereare2typesoflabelsusedintheSA+AH--yellowandwhite.BothlabelsarefoundattheredMSDSbox
and aresuppliedbytheSA+AH.Eachisusedforadifferentpurpose.
White:
Allnewandorusedproductincontainers(hazardousorwhatmightbeperceivedashazardous-i.e.watered
downgesso,graphitesolutions,satellitecontainersofsolvents,powders,spraypaints,fixatives,oils,solvents,
etc…) mustbelabeledwithintheSA+AHtoidentifytheircontents.LabelscanbefoundattheMSDSboxin
eachstudio andworkarea.Allcontainersmustbemarkedwithyourname,contentsanddateopened.All
secondary/satellite containersforhazardousmaterialsmustbemarkedwithcontent,yournameandthe
dateopened.Allunmarkedcontainerswillbedisposedofwithnonotice.
Yellow:
WHENHAZARDOUSITEMSAREDESIGNATEDASWASTE.
AllcontainersmusthaveayellowlabelidentifyingthecontentsthataredesignatedastrashforweeklyEHS
pick up.
