PEE WEE & JUNIORS, AGES 5 to 13. This summer let
us give your child the unforgettable growth experience of a
tennis camp. Our goal is for every one of our campers to learn

an opportunity to develop mind, body and spirit, and learn
the principles of sportsmanship in a refreshing, nurturing
atmosphere.
Beginning players will enjoy learning tennis using the
“Quickstart Method” - tennis sized just right for kids.
Intermediate players will work on strokes, strategy and point
play. Advanced and tournament players will build a game
plan; master the entire court with a variety of shots, strokes,
movements and positions; and develop positive self-talk and
techniques to improve focus. These comprehensive workout
sessions will promote on-court intensity and match-play
improvement.

Girls & Boys – Ages 5 to 12
Pre-register by the preceding Thursday!
Now in its third year, this camp is led by Coach Garry Glaub,
who has been teaching tennis for the City for 20 years. BASE
CAMP is designed to keep your child active and having fun.
Mornings will consist of a variety of sports, including tennis,
dodge ball, kickball and badminton. After lunch (please have
your child bring a lunch and any snacks they need on a daily
basis), we will walk to Goff Cove Beach at the Montage Resort.
Goff Cove faces south, with very small waves, has a full-time
lifeguard and has been chosen specifically for your child’s
safety. We sit immediately beside the lifeguard stand and
children are not allowed to go above waist deep. Responsible
camp staff members continuously supervise all activities.
While improvement of hand-eye coordination is a concern of
the camp, the emphasis is on Sportsmanship! “It’s not how
you win or lose but how you play the game.”
•
Coach Garry emphasizes fun and humor, but above
all, following the rules!

...so why would you let your soap, grease
and dirty water enter the storm drain?
When you wash your car at home, the water you use can flow
off your driveway and into the street, picking up dirt, chemicals
and trash along the way. Then this water runs into storm drains,
where it flows untreated into our creeks, streams, harbors and
the ocean. Help protect the environment by using commercial
car washes. If you must wash your car at home, use a nozzle
to turn off the water when you’re not using the hose. Use
biodegradable soap, and wash your car on grass or gravel to
help absorb the water.

County Stormwater Program.
