A Message from Barbara Nork
HELLO!
I am so excited to welcome your child to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; home of our State Capitol,
scenic mountains, and events for all four seasons.

Bishop McDevitt High School
My name is Barbara Nork, and I have the pleasure of assisting you and your family as a Twinn
Palms Homestay Coordinator. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania has been my home my entire life. I
reside in Susquehanna Township with my husband Edward of 23 years, and our two children,
Andrew and Allison.
I am especially delighted to support Bishop McDevitt High School (“McD”), as I am a Bishop
McDevitt graduate and understand the values of a Catholic Education. In fact, our daughter
Allison will be a sophomore at McD this school year. Our son graduated High School in 2013,
and will be attending The Sheffield Institute for Audio Technology this fall.

Personally, I enjoy cooking, physical fitness and fresh air. In Pennsylvania, we have the delight
of enjoying all of the seasons, with Fall being my favorite. All seasons have their attributes,
but I can honestly say that snowstorms are not one of them!
Location is another attribute. Harrisburg not only has its spectacular Capitol Building, but
the State Museum, Arts and Science Center, and Metro Bank Park, home of the Harrisburg
Senators (AA affiliate of the Washington Nationals!) In addition, Hersheypark, Hiking Trails,
ski resorts, and an assortment of shopping and restaurants are within a short drive!
Thank you for learning a bit about myself and my community. I look forward to learning
about your child, and making their transition a pleasant one. Please be assured myself, the
Homestay Family, and the school community, will embrace this adventure together. If you
