With over 17 years experience of delivering first class visitor catering within London’s leading exhibition venues, we’re very aware of the importance of designing a catering offer that is aligned to your brand and meets the needs of your audience. With this in mind we are pleased to present the many retail options for food and drink that are available to you at Olympia. Our menus have been designed with innovation and flexibility in mind, ensuring you enjoy selecting the food and drink concepts for your visitors. We are here to assist you with your choices; do let us know how we can help. Whatever you select, you can be assured of consistently high standards of food, drink, service and styling. CREATIVEVENTS | 5 Food | Events ON FLOOR CATERING eOSPSSy M CH ‘Boutique offers, our street food concepts, coffee bars and snacks, popular catering, indulgent offers, bars and restaurants.’ These mobile, flexible units can be positioned anywhere within the event – whether it’s to fill a space on the floor plan, sit alongside a sponsor or theatre, or delineate a certain food and drink area. On-floor concepts broadly fall into seven categories: boutique offers (including our street food concepts), coffee bars and snacks, popular catering, indulgent offers, bars, cafés and restaurants. A combination of these provides your visitors a great variety of food and drink to choose from as they navigate their way around the show. We own an extensive range of equipment from which we build these food and drink units: purpose built coffee bars and concept bars – constructed of striking polished chrome with a back-lit Perspex frontage. The latest additions to our inventory are ‘Bernadette’ , ‘Sophie’ and ‘Delphine’ - our lovely vintage Citroen H vans which have been converted to our specification to enable them to be styled to retail any one of our menus. All of the catering experiences detailed here are available to you, subject to availability. We’ve created the brands and the menus associated with them for maximum appeal, to be appreciated by organisers and guests alike and to enhance everyone’s overall enjoyment of the event. 6 | CREATIVEVENTS Food | Events ON-FLOOR CATERING Coffee Bars and Snacks ARTISAN BAKERY Freshly made sandwiches and tarts, cakes from our own bakery, great coffee and soft drinks, including homemade lemonade. We’re very particular about the seasonality and provenance of our ingredients – the proof is in the tasting. Laden with all-good-things: freshly squeezed juices, crisp salads, chopped fresh fruit and our home-made sandwiches. Plus cakes, including a gluten free range – try the moist whole orange, almond and marmalade cake. As well as our espresso based coffee we offer a range of teas and fruit/herbal infusions. LOVE COFFEE For the all-important morning caffeine fix or to provide a much needed pick-me-up during the day. Our purpose built coffee pods provide a break out space for visitors to refuel or a speedy takeaway service for exhibitors. There’s no compromising on quality either. We serve the same great espresso-based coffee from our pods that we’re proud to serve throughout our fixed site cafés and restaurants. Our exclusive and complex espresso is blended after roasting to produce an espresso that is full, flavoursome and rounded. It contains coffee from Brazil, Ethiopia, Central America and 10% of it is Indian Robusta to give it extra body and texture. CREATIVEVENTS | 7 Food | Events ON-FLOOR CATERING Indulgent Offers Champagne & Seafood Bar A particular favourite with the consumer shows, Champagne and Seafood is the ultimate treat when on a day out with friends. The fresh seafood platter includes cured VAR salmon, crab salad, sea trout fillet, oysters and artisan breads and butter. The bar uses plenty of crushed ice to showcase the ingredients and ornate ice buckets to display the Champagne. In Pinchos & Wine we’ve embraced the popularity of tapas and have created a convivial eating and drinking concept with quality, authenticity and flexibility. A pincho (‘pintso definition - literally ‘thorn’ or ‘spike’) or pintxo) is a small snack typically eaten in bars. The menu is made up of tasty cured meats, cheeses, salt cod, marinated squid, olives and a selection of Spanish wine, beer and sherry. This delicious Spanish tapas offer can be designed to meet the needs of your visitors; whether it’s an a la carte menu or an abundant display from which customers choose the number of items they would like to create their own platter. 8 | CREATIVEVENTS Food | Events ON-FLOOR CATERING Street Food One of our street food concepts which has proved to be incredibly popular. Saigon Cinnamon offers a healthy and inspired menu, all beautifully presented from a themed stall or Citroen H van. Bánh Mi is always a hit – Vietnamese style shredded pork spiced with chillies, ginger and lime. Served with pickled cucumber, black radish and daikon in a French style baguette. ”Delicieuse cuisine et vin Français”. La Saveur offers a deliciously simple menu of patés, rillettes and French cheeses served with pickles and ficelle. Each dish is matched with an appropriate wine – and all produce is beautifully displayed in a rustic style. Indian street food served from a fun, vivid stall or van. The menu is freshly cooked to order and features a vegetarian chick pea and coriander puri or tender Karahi lamb cutlets with green mango and coconut salad. Incredibly tasty, indulgent eat-on-the-go food. Our menu includes ‘Beef & Blue’ – sticky braised short rib and brisket, braised onions and blue cheese served in a toasted brioche bun. Or ‘Fried Chicken & Waffles’ – buttermilkmarinated chicken thighs deep fried in smoke paprika flour and served with a freshly made waffle and maple syrup. eSSSy M CHOP eSSy M CH HO P S CREATIVEVENTS | 9 Food | Events ON-FLOOR CATERING Popular Choices An exciting on-floor unit, the Waffle Wagon adds variety to the overall food and drink offer and complements the savoury units. The breakfast menu of waffles, pancakes and omelettes is supplemented at lunchtime with savoury crêpes and sandwiches. This unit features abundant bowls of toppings including fresh fruit, poached and preserved fruits, sauces and syrups. For a healthier alternative the fruits can be served with yoghurts and granola. A popular afternoon choice too – the Waffle Wagon is a great all-day offer. IDENTITY The all-time favourite. We’ve perfected our recipe so that the batter stays crisp and the cod retains its succulence. The integrity of our ingredients is key – the fish is line caught from sustainable stocks and Maris Pipers make the best fat chips – so that’s what we use. A fun and internationally recognised offer, this increasingly popular offer will provide a hot dog for every preference, whether you opt for ‘The New Yorker’, ‘The Rancher’ or ‘The Londoner’. For busier events a separate counter specialising in made-to-order American style shakes will add to the interest. 10 | CREATIVEVENTS Food | Events ON-FLOOR CATERING A celebration of the best of British which embraces our culinary traditions with a down-to-earth, delicious menu. We offer a breakfast and lunch menu with a hearty mix of pies, sausages and mash and great vegetarian alternatives. IDENTITY Baked potatoes remain a firm favourite as a lunch option. Even with increasing competition from their exotic counterparts they’ve stood the test of time as a filling, healthy, tasty…and reliable meal. Our burgers are made with rump and short-rib beef from Black Aberdeen Angus, Hereford and South Devon breeds from selected small holdings in Devon. We serve them in fresh brioche buns with baby gem, British tomatoes and soused red onions. IDENTITY CREATIVEVENTS | 11 Food | Events ON-FLOOR CATERING Bars We use our concept bars, our ‘pods’ or our H vans to build striking on-floor bars with their own seating area. We can stock a core range of products: beer, wine, cider and spirits or we can create specialist bars – cocktails, gin wagons or Champagne and Pimms bars for example. All bars can offer barista-made coffee too. We’ll work with you to make sure the drinks offer and the look and feel of the bar is just right for your customers and your event. We thrive on the challenge of creating bespoke units so we’ll consider every detail to ensure that the overall design meets your brief exactly. There’s certainly no set size of bar, we’ll design the size and shape according to the space you have available, and to meet the needs of your expected number of visitors. 12 | CREATIVEVENTS Food | Events ON-FLOOR CATERING Restaurants For certain events, it may be to your advantage to provide a table service restaurant. Restaurants are a great endorsement of the social nature of exhibitions - they round off the whole experience for visitors to consumer shows and provide the perfect location for conducting business meetings at trade shows. The options for creating a restaurant concept unique to your event are endless. We would be very happy to discuss the options with you and share examples of themes and menus that have worked particularly well in the past. CREATIVEVENTS | 13 Food | Events ON-FLOOR CATERING Cafés Bring the buzz of coffee culture into the heart of your exhibition with a grab & go café or deli café, designed just for you. With a flexible menu featuring freshly made sandwiches, crisp & wholesome salads and hearty soups. Also a host of made-to-order options: deli sandwiches, hot carvery rolls and pulled pork wraps plus tarts, hot meals and baked potatoes. All served, of course, with great coffee, cold drinks, cakes and impulse buys. Add a good sized seating area to complete the ambience and for maximum take-up, ensuring a longer dwell time from visitors who have no cause to leave the event in search of sustenance. 14 | CREATIVEVENTS Food | Events FIXED SITE CATERING We take the same collaborative approach with our fixed site units as we do with the ‘pop up’ food and drink concepts on-floor. We’ll tailor the menus to suit your audience demographic and ensure that the catering in these units complements, and adds variety to the temporary offers in the heart of the show. Our menus change throughout the day, our breakfast baps and porridge are hugely popular and much appreciated by the organisers and exhibitors. Lunch is always a bounty of choice, attractively displayed and freshly cooked over the course of service. Our afternoon tea is a must, with a tempting range of cakes and pastries, snacks and sweet treats. We’re happy to open our fixed site cafés during the pre-show builds. The convenience of having an on-site café with a focus on hearty menus that appeal to the event contractors is always appreciated by those on site during this time-critical phase. Go Outdoors Our vintage Citroen H van ‘Bernadette’ can be positioned on the forecourt opposite Kensington Olympia Station. Selling great coffee and a range of fresh bakery items she provides a quirky welcome to the event and is always very popular with visitors. CREATIVEVENTS | 15 Food | Events BRANDING & DESIGN Customised for your Clients All of our on-floor concepts and a selection of our fixed site cafés can be sponsored by an exhibitor or show sponsor. This tailoring of a unit with signage and the company’s logo on menus and point of sale materials increases brand awareness and is a very effective way of aligning a particular brand with a dining experience. We can extend our creativity by reinforcing the sponsoring company’s brand with additional props – appropriately coloured frames for the menus, displayware and staff uniforms for example. We’ll work with you to create the look and feel that you require, whether you choose to use our versatile concept units or create your own purpose-built designs. Either way, we’ll support you throughout with our experience and practical know-how. 16 | CREATIVEVENTS Food | Events OUR TEAM We bring an experienced and skilled team to deliver the variety and creativity of our catering offer at Olympia. The onsite team has an unrivalled understanding of the complexities of delivering food and drink of the scale you require, within the realms of this historic treasure. Lindsay Atkinson leads the team and is supported by floor managers, bar managers, supervisors and front of house staff, all of whom are based here. Menus are developed by Bruce Wilson our Executive Chef and Alex Hall our Group Head Chef. Our staffing managers recruit and train our people – we take pride in the fact that our staff work directly for us at Olympia. This brings consistently high standards to our menus and service. Staff are confident in their roles and this is reflected in their friendly and efficient manner. Behind the scenes, we support Lindsay through our central team - also based in our head office within Olympia. We have a team of health & safety, IT, finance, marketing and merchandising specialists who guide consistency of standards and develop the offer to meet the ever-changing consumer needs. Our marketing team in particular would be very happy to discuss opportunities for promoting the food offer for your event and exploring the different channels through which catering can be communicated, to ensure that dining at the event is factored in to the customers’ visit.
