A Three Day Camp hosted by Shore
Wrestling Club feauring Doug Schwab,
2008 Olympian who wrestled at University
of Iowa and recently finished his first year
as head coach at the University of Northern
Iowa and Corey Cooperman who wrestled
at Lehigh University and now coaches
at Rutgers University. Doug and Corey
will teach campers how to attack from all
positions. Take advantage of the highest
level of coaching available today. These two
clinicians will prepare the athletes for a great
season.

Doug Schwab
Head Coach – University of Northern Iowa
After being named University of Northern
Iowa’s 9th head coach prior to the 20102011 season, his first as a head coach,
Schwab guided the Panthers to a 12-9
dual meet record, a 5-0 Western Wrestling
Conference record and a 2nd place team
finish in the NCAA Western Conference.
He led 3 Panthers to the 2010 NCAA
Championships in Philadelphia, PA.
Schwab, a native of Osage, Iowa, had
served four seasons as an assistant coach with Iowa Hawkeye wrestling
team after serving as the team’s volunteer assistant coach in 2006-07. In his
four seasons on staff, Schwab helped the Hawkeyes to three NCAA and Big
Ten team titles. During that time, Iowa crowned six NCAA champions, six Big
Ten champions, 23 all-Americans and 24 academic all-Big Ten honorees. The
Hawkeyes posted an 82-6 dual record - including perfect records the last two
seasons (24-0 in 2008-09, 23-0 in 2009-10).
While serving on the Hawkeye staff, Schwab remained active in international
competition. Schwab represented the United States at the 2008 Olympic
Games in Beijing, China, wrestling freestyle at 145.5 pounds (66 kg). He won
titles at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and U.S. Nationals. In 2007 he
won the U.S. Senior Freestyle title, earned a bronze medal at the 2007 Pan
American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and placed fifth at the 2007 World
Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. Schwab’s other post-college national
wrestling accomplishments include winning the 145.5-pound title at the 2003
Sunkist Kids International Open and earning Outstanding Wrestler honors in
the freestyle event. In 2005, Schwab won the 145-pound division of Real Pro
Wrestling, earning Outstanding Wrestler honors as part of the champion Iowa
Stalkers team.
Cory Cooperman
Assistant Coach – Rutgers University
Cooperman, a former three-time All-American and three-time Eastern
Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) champion at Lehigh, brought a
wealth of wrestling experience to Rutgers University coaching staff.
In 2010-2011, at Rutgers he helped the Scarlet Knights qualify 8 wrestlers for
the NCAA’s as well as help Rutgers finish the season with a 21-2 dual meet
record. Rutgers finished 9th as a team in the nation.
He had spent the previous three seasons as an assistant at Cornell, which
has been nationally ranked each season and finished fifth in the nation at the
2009 NCAA Championships Cooperman oversaw the Big Red’s recruiting
efforts while primarily training the program’s light and middle weight
wrestlers. With Cooperman on the staff,
the program produced three EIWA and Ivy
League team titles, 12 All-Americans and
two National Champions.
He was a standout wrestler at Lehigh,
earning All-America honors in 2004,
2005 and 2006 while taking home the
141-pound weight class title at the EIWA
Championships in 2003, 2005 and 2006.
