The Velo Vineyard, located at 106 North Wall Street in the heart of downtown Calhoun, is a unique venue
currently housing three businesses: Events at The Velo, Wall Street Catering, and Cherokee Cycles. Whether you’re
planning a business or social function or making catering arrangements, looking for top quality bicycles, biking
accessories or cycling event information, the Velo is your one-stop powerhouse.
Jackie Palazzolo and Monica Pierson (404-291-0439 or 770-548-5322) are the contacts for Events at The Velo.
This team provides tailored event planning including professional organization and attention to detail that will take
your event from an idea to a reality. They organize wedding showers, engagement and birthday parties, anniversary
celebrations, private dinners or company functions. Whatever the event, The Velo will take all the stress off your
shoulders so you can enjoy yourself as much as your guests.
There’s no such thing as a party without food, and David Burton (770-548-4840) operates Wall Street Catering
from The Velo, so you can make arrangements for anything from a simple buffet to an elegant meal which makes
it easy to work with Events at The Velo and pull off the party of the year. Trey Pierson offers complete DJ service
with a wide variety of music to add even more fun to your event.
Marcus Palazzolo (404-293-0439) is the primary contact for
Cherokee Cycles, bringing years of cycling experience to the
table. Cherokee Cycles offers everything a shopper needs to
start or continue cycling--equipment sales and repair services,
accessories and information.
Winter hours at the The Velo Vineyard are Tuesday,
Thursday and Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday
from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For more information about

Ribbon Cuttings
A ribbon cutting was held for American Red Cross Certified
Nurse Assistant Training Program, 309 Court Street, Calhoun, GA
30701, 706-629-4510, on October 7. The Red Cross curriculum
provides individuals with exceptional clinical training that helps
students master practical, academic and social skills necessary
to be a successful nurse assistant offering compassionate care
at local nursing homes and skilled nursing centers.

Business Expo Booth Winner
Candy Bouquet, owned and operated by Dean
and Karen Obendorf, won “Best Booth” at the
Small Business Development Committee’s Annual
Business Expo on October 14, 2010. Their bright,
colorful display featured a candy buffet and earned
them a free booth at the 2011 Business Expo.
New Director Of Convention

has
announced that Sue Ellen
Harbour Clyatt has joined
the organization as its
Director of Convention
and Visitors Bureau. “Sue
Ellen is going to be a real asset to the Chamber,
coming to us with years of experience in sales,
marketing and promotions.”
A native of Calhoun, Ms. Clyatt recently returned
to Gordon County after years in Valdosta, Georgia
and Nashville, Tennessee. Her experience includes
working in sales and promotions in radio and
television. Sue Ellen produced and hosted her
own mid-day weekly television show “Southern
Lifestyles” and went on to manage WFXU in
Valdosta. After moving to Atlanta, she worked for
the marketing company, Grey Global, Atlanta.
Ms. Clyatt will be responsible for increasing tourism
efforts on behalf of Calhoun and Gordon County. She will support the Chamber’s CVB Committee
and will work closely with the hospitality industry.
