Spark ignition technology BlueRail ignition system Dual fuel technology For natural gas and biogas – G-Line For biogas – B-Line For biogas – Z-Line Spark ignition is a proven technology with a broad range of applications. Spark plugs reliably ignite the gas-air mixture in the combustion chamber after being compressed by the turbo charger. Our engines are optimized for biogas and natural gas and convert them into heat and power highly efficiently. In the BlueRail process, gas is injected into the cylinders at very high pressure. Our dual fuel gensets are based on diesel engines. Since diesel engines have high compression ratios, they can combust lean gases particularly efficiently. In the dual fuel system, pilot fuel is injected into the combustion chamber to ensure full ignition of the compressed gas-air mixture. Benefits of this tried-and-true technology: robust operation and low maintenance costs. Some of the biogas is ignited by special spark plugs in a special prechamber of the combustion chamber. The resulting flame cleanly and efficiently ignites and burns the gas-air mixture in the main combustion chamber. This process achieves extremely high electrical efficiency in biogas operation. Our Z-Line dual fuel CHP units start up reliably and handle fluctuations in gas composition gracefully. From the day our company was founded, we have focused on finding the most efficient way to combust lean gases. These gases are highly knock-resistant and cannot be fired properly by conventional diesel and gas engines. Following decades of in-house research and development, we now supply CHP units based on three technologies that efficiently utilize the energy from biogas and natural gas. 16 17 Schnell Service Good Service is about Dependability.
